The Colorado Supreme Court Library is an offspring of the Territorial Library founded in 1861 and was formally established by the General Assembly in 1874 to serve the Colorado Supreme Court. The appellate judiciary we serve today includes not only the Supreme Court but the Colorado Court of Appeals as well. The library also serves the state's district and county courts, numerous state agencies and is open to the public.
Collection
The Colorado Supreme Court Library holds all fifty state statutes and session laws, all regional reporters, pre-regional reports, the federal statutes, federal regulations and all federal reporters. Some highlights of the collection include Colorado statutes and cases from the territorial period forward, numerous Colorado municipal codes and Colorado legal treatises and directories. The library is also a depository for State Justice Institute publications as well as a repository for the Colorado Women's Bar Association collection. Since 1978 the library has been a partial federal depository focusing on materials such as federal administrative agency decisions, presidential documents, and items offered by various federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Transportation and the Census Bureau.

Memo from Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder to Inspectors General Directing Them to Refer Potential Violations of Federal Privacy Statutes to the Department of Justice for Investigation and Prosecution
October 18, 1999
Dear Inspector General:
In the Information Age, many Americans are becoming increasingly concerned about their loss of individual privacy. Although information technologies bring important benefits, from fostering economic growth to improving health and education, when improperly used, they can infringe upon cherished rights of individual privacy. This is particularly true with respect to governmental agencies. Whether to provide health care, educate our children, protect public safety, or provide assistance to low-income individuals, Federal, state, and local governmental agencies collect, maintain, and share significant amounts of sensitive personal information. The public shares this data with government with the expectation that it will only be used for appropriate governmental functions and in strict compliance with applicable privacy laws. Although some violations, such as those resulting from mere inadvertence, are appropriately handled through administrative processes, should your agency develop evidence that an employee has violated the criminal provisions of one of these privacy laws, particularly where the violation is committed for personal financial gain, commercial advantage, in furtherance of a criminal or tortious act, or involves a repeat offense or serious abuse of the public’s trust, I would encourage you to refer the matter to the local U.S. Attorney’s Office for appropriate action. In the event your agency is not able to investigate the matter, please forward the matter to the local FBI office. In addition, to ensure that the Department of Justice properly focuses on these matters, we request that you forward a copy of any such referral to the appropriate individual listed below:

    Section I: General Overview
    Topic 3: Why Buy Green?
There are a variety of reasons to "buy green." Many people do it because it is required by federal statutes, multiple Executive Orders, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation, or FAR. Other people are adopting EPP to improve worker safety or to pursue potential cost savings. Still others are doing it as a way to minimize adverse environmental impacts - to protect old growth forests, to minimize waste disposal in landfills, to eliminate part of the 2.6 billion pounds of toxic chemicals released each year in the United States, or to address other environmental concerns. Buying green has been part of the federal government’s purchasing strategy since 1976, when Congress passed the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, or RCRA. RCRA required the federal government to buy recycled-content products identified by EPA. Other laws such as the National Energy Conservation Policy Act of 1978 and the Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 also included environmental purchasing components. They required the use of energy-efficient products and the use of government purchasing mechanisms to prevent pollution.

    Appendix A
Overview of Federal and State Civil Rights Laws A. Federal Statutes
There are many federal statutes that address discrimination and civil rights in a wide variety of circumstances. This section will briefly describe only the most prominent of those laws. This description is intended to provide only the most general overview; these statues are very complex and many of the details are not discussed in this very abbreviated summary. Housing and Lending Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1991 is the most important federal law in this area. It prohibits discrimination in the sale or rental of housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, familial status or national origin. It also prohibits such discrimination in any residential real-estate transaction, including the making or purchasing of loans. The statute charges the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with the primary administrative authority for implementing the Act. People who believe they have been discriminated against can file complaints with HUD. HUD then investigates the complaint, and, if the complaint is valid, attempts a conciliation. If the conciliation fails, HUD can pursue a administrative hearing, or it can refer the case to the Attorney General for filing a civil action. The Attorney General also has independent authority to bring a civil case whenever it has cause to believe that a person is engaged in a "pattern or practice "

A: Texas Exile has been very successful in removing criminals and guns from the streets of Texas. As of August 2, 2002, there have been:
    • 1,597 Indictments 1,194 Convictions 2,093 Guns Confiscated
Texas had a 59% increase in prosecution of federal gun crimes over last year and leads the nation in the prosecution of federal gun crimes. Can you give me information on the types of people who are targeted? A: Texas Exile uses existing state and federal gun laws targeted at the root of gun violence - criminals who illegally use and carry weapons. The following people cannot possess firearm(s) or ammunition:
