FARMING IN PIKE TOWNSHIP MADISON COUNTY, OHIO On the banks of the Springfork in Pike Township, amidst some of the prettiest crops in the county, Roger and Lila Stewart farm some 2000 acres assisted by their son, Danny, and grandson, Aaron Boerger. Their daughter Lynne Whatley, Aaron's mother, works off the farm as does their granddaughter, Amanda Boerger Willett. Lila works both on and off the family farm. On the farm she is bookkeeper with the farm records complete computerized and off the farm she is Pike Township Clerk. Roger, a native of Butler County, came north with his brother, Kenneth, when their children were young. As their sons grew up and started to farm, the partnership amicably dissolved so that each brother had his own farm. In 1979, Roger and Lila incorporated Spring Fork Farms, named for the adjacent creek, with Roger as manager. Son Danny, who graduated from Fairbanks High School in 1973, became assistant manager of the new corporation.
