Education Resources for Teachers
The Space Science Institute is dedicated to improving precollege science education overall, with a particular focus on using space science as a vehicle for teaching basic science skills and habits of mind. Children have a fascination with space exploration. The Institute develops a variety of education products and programs that inspire and motivate students and teachers to reach their full educational potential. We support an inquiry-based hands-on approach to science education. We also believe that the best way SSI can achieve these objectives is by establishing partnerships with educators and school districts, and acting as a bridge between the scientific community and schools.
Curriculum Materials
The curriculum activities developed by SSI are age-apporpriate, hands-on, and inquiry-based. All activities are aligned with the National Science Education Standards and have been field tested.
CSEI, A Professional Development Opportunity
SSI collaborates with the Colorado Space Education Initiative (CSEI) , a grassroots aerospace education outreach program based on "teachers training teachers."
