Thanks for stopping by! Please don't mind the shitty state my page is currently in, I'm still – yes, still, so what? – working on it. No, I don't like the background on my page either, so if you got something nice, please mail me. Well, as you saw (or could've seen, anyway), my real name is Ben den Butter; "benne" is what some people call me, and it's my Internet nickname, as well. I was born on June 12, 1976, which makes me both a Gemini and a Dragon (in Chinese astrology). My place of birth is Beverwijk, the Netherlands, but at the moment I live in Schiedam, which is located in the metropolitan area of
I'm a first-year student of Cultural Anthropology/Sociology of Non-Western Societies at the Leiden University , about halfway between Rotterdam and Amsterdam. About two years ago, I started collecting links to political parties on the Web, not knowing how much work it was to maintain a Web site. Later on I also started to include political youth organizations. Currently I'm in the process of reorganizing the site, which can be found at http://www.luna.nl/~benne/pp/index.htm

Canadian Federal Political Parties Political parties are groups of people who come together out of a desire to obtain political power. The obvious way to obtain such power is to gain control of the government, but political parties also exercise power by influencing the policies of governments not under their control. Actual control, however, is the primary aim, and political parties are oriented toward that goal and attempt to realize it by legal means (elections), extralegal means (picketing and demonstrations), or illegal means (revolution). Canadian Public Policy: Globalization and Political Parties is the first book on the market to provide an analysis of the impact of both global and domestic interests on the development of Canadian public policy. Special attention is given to the pressures of globalization that have acted on the Liberals' 1993 electoral promises, as outlined in their "Red Book".
The book is written specifically for undergraduates by leading experts in their fields. With twelve chapters, it is ideal for a wide array of Public Policy courses.
Primarily for use in Canadian public policy and Canadian public administration courses at community colleges and in undergraduate university courses, Canadian Public Policy can also be used as a supplementary text for introductory level Canadian political structure and process courses.
    KEY FEATURES
    • the first book to present a combined analysis of the impact of both global and domestic interests on the development of Canadian public policy
    • each chapter is written by a leading expert in the field
    • contemporary coverage of Canadian politics - compares the development of public policy under both the Conservatives and Liberals and forms a timely report card of the Liberal tenure in office
    • covers the major issues of Canadian public policy and is written for the undergraduate student; with its broad perspective, it will be useful to students studying Canadian public policy, public administration, and business administration
