88. Canadian Security Industry: ONLINE - The In-depth Canadian Security Website
Includes explanations of provincial and federal legislation, legal authority of security personnel and articles about the industry in Canada.
http://www.csio.net/
Well it seems we've made it through Y2K without the apocalypse that was predicted, chicken little springs to mind. However we have some new articles online, and hopefully will have some new features in the next few weeks. Those of you who have emailed in regarding the "static" nature of the site, sorry, we all need a break now and again. Once again thanks for your support! The feedback has been tremendous, thanks again to all those that took the time to write! We do ask, however, that article submissions not consist entirely of product endorsements. Articles advocating the use of a type of security device where supported by facts are fine, but thinly disguised advertisements will not be posted. We've added a small library, using Amazon and Barnes and Noble to supply books relating to The Law Enforcement / Security Field. Where we've read these books a review has been added. Anyone wishing to recommend a specific book, or review should contact us at submis@csio.net.

Are you 65 years old or more? If so, you are one of over 3 million people in Canada's senior population. Not only is the senior population growing in numbers, it is also increasing as a proportion of the total population. Today, seniors comprise 12% of the population. By 2021, they will probably represent about 20% (barring dramatic changes in fertility, migration and mortality). Perhaps you are a near senior - aged 55-64. If so, you are one of nearly 2.5 million Canadians. Maybe you are a younger Canadian concerned about the aging of a parent or a relative. Perhaps you are a service provider whose clientele is older people. Or you may be a business person wanting to adjust to the seniors boom. You may also be a politician, an elected official or an organization's representative concerned about aging policies. Or perhaps

    Mineral and Metal Commodity Reviews
List of Producers Salt is such a common part of our everyday existence that we rarely think of it as a natural resource that must be discovered, mined, processed and marketed. Yet salt is so vital to our lives that without it we could perish. We are all benefactors of the rich deposits throughout Canada that contribute to our well-being and our comfortable way of life. The Legacy of Salt Scientists believe that, initially, seas were not salty. It took millions of years to wash out some of the salt locked up in the rocks of continents and for the waters to become brine. About 350 million years ago a large part of North America was covered by ocean. In places where bays existed with very restricted openings to the ocean, salt was deposited in great quantities by solar evaporation as the seas retreated. The deposits were subsequently covered with earth sediments. It is to these locations in Canada that we turn today for our salt supplies. The first air-breathing creature to adapt to a land environment brought a heritage from the seas which survives in man today: the salty fluids of the ocean. Salt is such an important part of the
