  • Conduct a survey; ask parents about their interests and needs. Plan programs targeting the interests and needs discovered. Increase participation at PTA meetings and activities by providing translators, food and babysitting (See reference on babysitting below). Hold meetings at convenient times. Contact organizations on campus with an invitation to participate on projects or programs of mutual interest. Actively recruit all parents to work on committees within your PTA. Sponsor family activity nights for math, reading, science, computer technology, arts, etc. Invite guest speakers, community members or school experts to speak on parenting at PTA meetings. Structure PTA meetings to inform and educate parents.
