How Environmentally charged issues were pushed from "Who Cares?" to "Who Dares!" So what is it about a hippy that links it to being environmentally conscious? In trying to define this connection, I found out just how much information is out there for us to find out . There are so many web sites out there that are bringing forward all kinds of new information that is just screaming out, "HEY PEOPLE!!! REALIZE WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE DOING BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!!!" It's not that nobody knows about this stuff, I think everyone now knows the hurt they are causing by driving cars around, not recycling, or taking hour long showers, the real reason people act ignorant about environmental issues is because they are harsh realities. People want to drive nice big SUVs that gobble up 12mpg and emit several grams of CO per gallon! People like the convenience of buying all this junk and throwing the wrapping in the trash or just throwing everything they don't want into a trash can and then have someone come around and pick it up and bring it away to somewhere where they can't see, smell or know about it! People like being able to sit in a shower for an hour while somewhere in the neighbodhood of gallons of valuable H O go running down the drain.
