Inspired by his local Tasmanian environment, Geoff is devoted to the west coast landscape which he depicts with an ethereal edge. A combination of literal interpretation and semi-abstraction, Geoffs style is based upon the simplicity of space and the conflicts within nature and isolated landscapes. He was awarded the Elioth Gruner Prize for Landscape in 1980, as well as many regional prizes, and has been selected for the prestigious Wynne Prize five times. John is a realist painter who creates fine, detailed work with remarkable clarity. He depicts naturalistic beach scenes with happy bathing figures, as well as the hillsides of coastal areas painted with lush tones and a quiet intensity. | |
