I also serve as an area agricultural agent in Graham, Greenlee and Cochise counties, and am responsible for on-farm research and the extension activities related to those projects. NCTC Founder Randolph Lee Clark Recognized As Pioneer Of Texas Junior College Movement By RON MELUGIN NOTE: Bibliography and footnotes available upon request: rmelugin@nctc.cc.tx.us. Randolph Lee Clark, son of Randolph Clark and Ella Blanche (Lee) Clark, was born on June 5, 1871, in Fort Worth. He grew up in a family which stressed education. His father and Uncle Addison Clark were founders of Add-Ran College at Thorp Spring, which was the forerunner of Texas Christian University. As a young man, Lee Clark was a part-time cowboy for the XIT Ranch. In fact, after he received his B. A. degree from Add-Ran Christian in 1895, he rode a cattle train to the Chicago stockyards where he sold some cattle to finance one year's study at the University of Chicago. There he studied under the personal influence of William Rainey Harper, president of the University and "father of the American junior college movement." After returning to Texas, Clark married Leni Leoti Sypert. In 1899, he was ordained a minister in the Disciples of Christ Church, although he never accepted a church assignment. From 1911-1914, he was a state employee in Austin, working as a general agent for the State Conference of Education. While in Austin, he served on the Board of Examiners of Normal Colleges (teacher colleges) and also promoted educational reforms at the public secondary and elementary school levels.

The case against James Lee Clark is remanded back to the trial court for further consideration. The execution will not take place on November 21, 2002. IN THE COURT OF CRIMINAL APPEALS OF TEXAS NO. 37,288-02 EX PARTE JAMES LEE CLARK HABEAS CORPUS APPLICATION FROM DENTON COUNTY Per Curiam. ORDER This is a subsequent application for writ of habeas corpus filed pursuant to the provisions of Art. 11.071, Sec. 5, V.A.C.C.P. On May 3, 1994, applicant was convicted of the offense of capital murder. The jury answered the special issues submitted and the trial court set punishment at death. Applicant's conviction was affirmed on direct appeal. Clark v. State, No. 71,991 (Tex. Cr. App. delivered October 2, 1996). The trial court has scheduled applicant's execution to take place on November 21, 2002. Applicant presents seven allegations. We have reviewed the application and find the first allegation satisifies the requirements of Art.11.071, Sec. 5(a), V.A.C.C.P. The remaining allegations do not so satisfy an exception and are dismissed as an abuse of the writ. Accordingly, we find the requirements for consideration of a subsequent application have been met and the cause is remanded to the trial court for consideration of the first allegation. Lee will talk about her new book, Object to Be Destroyed: The Work of Gordon Matta-Clark , at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, in the Cantor Arts Center Auditorium. The talk is free and open to the public. Matta-Clark was a pioneer figure in the development of the artistic community in New York City's SoHo (South of Houston) neighborhood. A site-specific artist and installation artist, he came to be known for "building cuts," in which he cut into and dismantled abandoned buildings to expose layers of architectural history and create new structures in the process. Courtesy Pamela Lee Building Cuts, like the ones pictured here on a two-story frame house in Englewood, New Jersey, were a trademark of the work of site-specific artist Gordon Matta-Clark, who cleft the building, which had been scheduled for demolition, in two, chiseled off eaves, gouged out the material from its center and then tipped the house back on its foundation.

She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minnesota. After nine years at SMU in Dallas, she moved to the University of Iowa. At both SMU and UI she served as Director of Clinical Training. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Abnormal Psychology, and has served on the editorial boards of several other journals. She is a Fellow in the American Psychological Association and on the Executive Board of several professional societies.
