(Feb. 28, 2002) Richard Childress Racing (RCR) is poised to eclipse the 1,000-mark in NASCAR Winston Cup starts this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "This is a tribute to everyone who has worked at RCR over the years," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. "It's hard to believe that we've competed in this many races but I'm proud of the fact that we've been around this long and had the success we've had." A total of 11 different drivers have competed in RCR entries over the years. The late Dale Earnhardt started the most races (529) while Mike Dillon (1998) and Rodney Combs (1988) competed in one race each. Childress competed in 188 series races between 1969 and 1981. | |
