STATBOOK FANTASY BASEBALL
Statbook Fantasy Baseball
is the fantasy baseball software and rotisserie baseball software solution to maintain your league's statistics. The system includes the following features.
1. No limit to the number of teams, players or leagues. You're limited only by disk space.
2. Flexible scoring system. Accept the system-default of equal weights for all your fantasy stats or assign weights in proportion to how important you think each statistic is.
3. Easy-to-read fantasy standings with the following printed: team totals for each stat category, stat category ranking, points earned for each stat category and total points earned for all stat categories.
4. Automatic calculation of partial fantasy stats for players not with their team the full year such as those signed in the middle of the season and those coming off the reserve list.
5. Easy on-screen editing and displays of the file. Display a player by just typing the first few letters of his name or browse thru your league file by pressing a function key. Also select just the statistics you want to appear on your screen. Display both y-t-d and last period stats.

Basebrawl fever: Catch it!

You've seen the highlights from last Friday night a million times. There's Detroit pitcher Jeff Weaver standing on the mound in Kansas City, looking perturbed because the Royals asked the umpires to check his resin bag two separate times. After the home-plate ump leaves the mound, Weaver follows him and yells something towards the plate before turning back toward the outfield. As it turns out, he just made the critical mistake of challenging the manhood of Royals batter Mike Sweeney ... who goes 6-foot-3, 225. Mike Sweeney's fight with Jeff Weaver had some of the classic elements of a basebrawl. Bad idea. Boom! Suddenly, Sweeney charges the mound, sidestepping the umpire like a blitzing linebacker and stampeding toward the unsuspecting pitcher. Poor Weaver turns just in time to find Sweeney about to pull a Bobby Boucher on him. Splack!

Casting the intelligent vote by: Jamey Codding Pg 1 of 1 Over the past year and a half, I've had dozens of people ask me how I decide what I'm going to write about every week. With so many stories of idiocy, lunacy, controversy and the occasional good deed being splattered throughout the sports pages every day, they want to know how I can select just one item from a list of seemingly hundreds of qualified candidates to dissect and ridicule each week in my column. It's not an easy process, mind you, nor do I really employ a scientific method when choosing what to write about. Before I ever put a single word to page, though, I first try to look at a topic that nobody else has latched onto how many different opinions do you have to read on different Web sites covering the same exact story? The last thing I want to do is re-hash the same stale outlook you've already read on ESPN.com or FoxSports.com. But other than that, my selection process is pretty simple. Sometimes I see something that just really perks my creative interests. Some headline that grabs my attention and won't let go, pushing me to my desk for a couple of rounds with the keyboard. Maybe it's something that reaffirms my faith in the integrity of the sports world. Or something that triggers a flood of warm childhood memories. Sometimes it's a story that sparks some intelligent debate, or even a story that simply impresses me.
