Scarface by Paul Monette
I thought the book was excellent. It goes into big detail about Tony Montana's (who is also known as scarface), past life and during his life in Miami. The book includes deleted scences from the movie and other scences that were not even included in the scarface movie script! If you want to find out more facts of the the Scarface movie, I really reccomend this book. I will say one intresting fact from this book. After Tony Montana quits at The El Paraiso sandwhich resturant he works with Omar Suarez then Tony Montana robs two banks in Miami and gets away with it ! If you are a Scarface fan and you are looking for a item that involves Scarface, the first item should be this book.

Il est en partie inspiré par la propre vie d'Oliver Stone qui s'est lui-même engagé comme volontaire pour la guerre du Viêt Nam où il a été blessé à deux reprises. En 1967, le jeune Chris Taylor souhaitant servir son pays, s'engage volontairement dans la guerre du Viêt Nam. Il est affecté à la 25 division d'infanterie, dans une section (« platoon » en anglais signifiant « peloton » ou « section ») qui a subi des pertes lors de récents combats. Son enthousiasme s'évanouit rapidement tandis qu'il effectue d'interminables patrouilles jour et nuit et s'épuise à creuser des trous servant comme position de défense, corvée avec plusieurs autres affectée aux bleus. Après une embuscade lors de laquelle il est légèrement blessé, Taylor s'intègre peu à peu avec les soldats plus expérimentés. Lors d'une opération dans la jungle, son unité découvre un complexe de bunkers. Alors qu'ils fouillent une cache, deux soldats sont tués par une boîte piégée avec une bombe. Après avoir quitté les bunkers, les soldats découvrent le cadavre de l'un des leurs (Manny), disparu alors qu'il était posté en sentinelle lors de la fouille des bunkers. L'unité poursuit alors sa route jusqu'à un village paysan où des combattants Viêt-Cong auraient été aperçus.
