Another top quality book!
My wife and I have been Beatles collectors for a few years now. When we first started we had no idea what anything was worth or what was really collectible. But one day I found Perry Cox's older price guide and it made all the difference to our collection. If you do not have a copy of either Perry Cox or Bruce Spizer's price guides, then you really do not have a clue what collecting the Beatles really is.

We bought a limited edition copy of this book that was signed by Perry, Bruce and Frank with a personal message inscribed to my wife from Bruce. It is number 165 of 200. Just by it's self it it is a collectible. We made sure to get a regular copy just so we can use it for what it was intended to be used as. The signed one has never been out of it's slip cover.

Beatles Price Guide
I found it difficult to use this book to UNDERSTAND the ORDER of Beatles LP's manufactured. The format seems disorganized.What I expected and would have preferred to see is a CHRONOLOGICAL listing of ALL BEATLES LP's, BY YEAR, RELEASE DATE (IF KNOWN), AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, IN SEQUENTIAL ORDER with VARIATION NOTATIONS inserted in context with each listing. Being a collector who would like to build a collection of FIRST RELEASED MONO & STEREOPHONIC BEATLESLP's, from 1964-70 only, and only being able to locate items on eBay, I find it near impossible to match ebay seller's descriptions of specific Beatles recordings with items described in the Beatles Price Guide - leading to confusion and purchasing mistakes.

I also wasn't happy with amazon.com's "quality control" shipping of the "New" Beatles Price Guide received. Approximately 10 pages in the center of the book, were VERY HEAVILY CREASED - and the shipping department failed to provide CUSHIONING in the packaging - resulting in the heavy Price Guide sliding freely from top to bottom during shipping, arriving in less than "new" condition.

In fairness to aol.com, this is the FIRST time I've had a bad buying experience since first ordering through them 5 or 6 years ago. I just don't have the time or energy to make an issue of it and go through the trouble of returning to exchange for another copy. Have to pick my battles.

Like oxygen at altitude
Long time casual Beatle collector and recently slowly moving into the Bealte-collecting world deeper.For several months I struggled to find information, questions i should be asking, values - I am fortunate it doesn't come as an App or PDA version or i'd simply look at it too much.The layout, photos, detail are wonderful.The intro is nicely unpatronizing.As said well abouve - I can't say enough about the Herculean task these guys keep 'once more onto the breach' doing with each new edition but...if I had a a humble wish list....in this digital priting and online age I'd love lots more written on counterfeits and repros (with detailed photos and recs for how to avoid) and more breakdown if possible on certain items in that dynamic of the gps from VG to NM pending on availability, etc - something to address the collapse of the VG=50%, G=10% etc.But, man, this book is so fantastic I can't complain and i'm sure it's getting better all the time....

Invaluable Guide
I'm new to record collecting, and this is my first ever record price guide, so I found the learning curve to be just a little bit steep. But now that I've gotten the hang of the terminology and the book's layout, this guide has proven to be invaluable, not only ensuring that I know exactly what I'm looking at, but also that I stay away from bad deals. The decision to include solo Beatles records and other Apple releases was also brilliant and greatly appreciated.

Best Price Guide to Own for Beatles Vinyl
This book is a must have for any serious Beatles Fan who wants to know correct values of their Beatles' items.The only thing this book did not have was the Love album information - I do think the book came out just a month too early for that release.The book contains numerous collectible values, and in the back has a dedicated section for each individual Beatle with their solo releases after the band broke up.It also has various other artists and their albums for collectors. Exellent history and pretty good sermon

This is a history of wage and price controls, and a sermon against them.

The history portion covers antiquity to modern times, in Asia, Africa, Europe,
and the Americas, in democracies, monarchys, and dictatorships of the left and
right, from gentle, moral persuassion through "jawboning" to long prison
sentences and long lists of death sentences.

They claim controls have never worked, always cause additional social damage,
such as shortages and crime, and often make inflation worse. I know of no
counterexample of their claim.

Washington's terrible winter at Valley Forge was caused by the price controls
imposed by the Continental Congress. The Allies retained the Nazi controls
after WWII.Goering, from prison in 1946, wondered why. He could not make
it work. Why would we repeat his mistake. The German economic miracle started
almost immediately after controls were ended.

Other controllers also admitted their attempts failed.I wish the authors
had collected opinions from all controllers, admitting failure or offering
excuses.They could not, of course, because there were so many, all diverted
from doing something that might have been useful.

There is an extensive bibliography, a useful index, and chapter notes
documenting the claims in the main text.They even include a translation
of the price fixing portions of the Code of Hammurabi.

The sermon at the end is less satisfying. They summarize the historical
evidence, speculate on the process of inflation (but get the cause right
-- government), and try to demolish the plans they feared Jimmy Carter
was about to launch.

This book is over 25 years old.I did not notice anything that would have
to be erased from the history section for a second edition, just change the
speculation about Carter's actions to history and add a few more chapters.

I recommend this book for all politions, and all voters. If enough read
it, perhaps there will not need to be a second edition.

Historical Survey of Price Controls
Economy theory suggests that price ceilings produce shortages and price floors produce surpluses.Good theories should have testable results.This book describes examples in history where the government initiated price controls.It then shows the ill effects such controls caused.The most insightful criticism comes from perceptive contemporary sources who cite the source of their misery.Examples from ancient Eqypt, Hammurabi's Babylon, ancient Greece, French and American revolution, Civil War, World War I and II and the Communism states.The book was written as a polemic against political pressure to freeze prices (remember Nixon's price freeze), yet is still readable and valid today. ... Good guide to behaviours, mythology and history
If you want to learn about history and mythology of the world's swans then this is the book for you. It is interestingly written and informative. A good read.But if you want to see the brids too and enjoy their gorgeous form variations you will be sadly disappointed. There are no photos and only fairly poor line drawings to give an idea of the appearance of these beautiful creatures. If a picture is worth a thousand words then this book could save many thousands of words by simply adding a few well chosen photos.

Dreamy about Swans

It worked for my kid
All I read about reparing for suditions said, "Don't get your monologue from a book of monologues." This book was written for young actors, includes both funny and more serious scenes, and is more likely to appeal to high schoolers than Eugene O'Neill or even Neil Simon. For what it's worth, my kid aced two college auditions with some of the material here and went on to more sophisticated material after he'd mastered the basics. ... Read more
