Product Description
Through objects, images, and texts, Jason Dodge skillfully combines the fictive and the real, inviting us into a world of interrupted and elusive narratives. In each of his carefully executed installations, a distant locale or notable event is evoked along with characters both real and imagined. Each work seems to suggest a larger enigmatic story, leading ultimately to a narrative of our invention, sparked by Dodge's compelling objects.
Jason Dodge's exhibition is a companion to a recent installation at the Villa Arson in Nice, France. On the occasion of these two installations, the Orange County Museum of Art published this catalogue in collaboration with Villa Arson, available in September 2005. Jason Dodge was born in 1969 in Newton, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Berlin, Germany.

"Patience" debuted at number four on the UK Singles Chart and rose to number one in its second week, staying there for four weeks. It was the 8th best-selling single in the UK of 2006 and spent eleven weeks in the top ten, making it the longest that any Take That single had spent in the top ten until the release of 2007's "Rule The World". The song also became the 30th best selling single of 2007, the following year. The song just missed out on being the UK Christmas number one of 2006, being knocked off the top spot on Christmas Eve by X-Factor winner Leona Lewis' "A Moment Like This". The song was also the 20th best selling single of 2006 in Ireland. The song also won the Best British Single Award at the 2007 BRIT Awards and was voted The Record of the Year for 2006, polling 15.5% of the final vote. On 18 February 2007, it re-entered the UK top 10 after 14 weeks in the charts and on 11 August 2007, following the band's performance at the Concert for Diana, the single reentered the UK top 40. The song debuted at number one on the German Singles Chart, and since its release it has sold over 150,000 copies being certified Gold by the IFPI. Indie-rock band The Wombats also chose to cover this song on the 9th of January 2008 for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge. Hank Marvin also covered this song on his 2007 album Guitar Man. The song has sold 535,000 copies in the UK as stated by the Official UK Charts Company and has received a Gold sales status...http://booksllc.net/?id=8054621 ... Read more

Product Description
In 2002, our Nation was unsure of its future, panicked by its recent past, and struggling to come to terms with a mounting war and the ever-changing colors of terror. Through it all two poets in a newfound friendship felt it necessary to stop the chaos and share their thoughts, views, struggles, fears, frustrations, and daily triumphs with each other. Sometimes scathing and brash, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes self-assured, the conversational threads have been woven into a constant, furious tapestry covering the landscape of the American South, the desert Southwest and all the way to the cold mountains of Switzerland. These letters represent a refusal to submit and a wild shout to the heavens that art can still matter. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars a book of letters for a new generation
Sunlight at Midnight, Darkness at Noon continues the long tradition of publishing the letters of writers. What makes this book unique is that it's letters written between two modern poets who had never met one another, who merely shared a common vision of what poetry should be.
There is plenty of poetic writing (and actual poetry) in the pages of this book, but it's not just about poetry. It's about politics and music and art and everything else that makes life worth living. It's about an aesthetic two unknown writers shared at the turn of the century, captured in language that sings and aches and often makes you want to stand up and yell HELL YES!

Sunlight at Midnight, Darkness at Noon feels almost like the transcripts to an eavesdropped conversation. You feel a part of something grand, something slightly conspiratorial, something fascinating and exhilarating and powerful. Hosho and Chris are wonderful writers aside from these letters, but (as letters are meant to do) they invite you into their lives and their minds in a way that makes you feel good.

Letter writing is a lost art, what with email and text messages. But, the well-crafted letter will always be something worth reading. Hosho and Chris have joined the other men of letters with this collection. ... Read more

Product Description
In her thirty-seventh bestselling novel, Danielle Steel tells the compelling story of a woman who must struggle to overcome a shattering betrayal, and the cruelest kind of malice.

At seventeen, the night of her mother's funeral, Grace Adams is attacked. It is not the first time, and a brutal crime ensues.

And to everyone's horror, Grace will not tell the truth. She is a young woman with secrets too horrible to tell, with hurts so deep they may never heal. She is also beautiful enough for men to want her no matter how much she does not want them.Whatever the outcome,Grace Adams will have to live with whatever happened during those terrible years. And after a lifetime of being a victim, now she must pay the price for other people's sins.

From the depths of an Illinois women's prison to a Chicago modeling agency to a challenging career in New York, Grace must carry the past with her wherever she goes. And in healing her own pain, she reaches out to battered women and children who live a nightmare she knows all too well.

When Grace meets Charles Mackenzie,aNew York lawyer, she has found a man who wants nothing from her -- except to heal her, to hear her secrets, and to give her the family she so desperately wants. But, with happiness finally within her grasp, and precious loved ones to protect, Grace is at her most vulnerable--in danger of losing everything to a vicious tabloid press and an enemy from her past, an enemy bent on malice at all costs.

With rare insight and power, Danielle Steel writes this extraordinary woman's story, portraying her struggle to triumph over malice and betrayal, and to transform a lifetime of pain into a blessing for others.Revealing both the stark reality of domestic abuse and the healing power of love, Malice is more than superb fiction. It is a piece of life.Amazon.com Review

1-0 out of 5 stars Uh.................these books actually sell?!?
I've always heard of Danielle Steel but never read any of her work. Then a box of books was given to me by a neighbor and in it was Malice, so I started to read. I was honestly stunned - the writing was absolutely the worst I've ever seen! I wanted to get out my editing pencil and correct the horrible grammar, the fragmented and poorly-worded sentences, and cross out the numerous repeat sentences. The story-line was nauseating and the ending completely predictable. It was like a glorified Harlequin romance, but not as well written as a Harlequin. I've seen better writing from middle school students, and I'm not even exaggerating. It's baffling that Danielle Steel makes money on her books. But as a friend in my book club said, "there's a lot of simple-minded people in this world and there's got to be books out there for them too." I guess that's as good an explanation as any for how Danielle Steel books actually sell.

5-0 out of 5 stars Most Real.
I agree with all of these reviews, this book is one of the best books i have read, when i put the book down one night i couldn't get it out of my mind.i had to pick it up and keep reading.I was actually shocked to see the book being only $7.99.All i can say is this is a GREAT CHOICE! MUCH KUDOS to Danielle Steel.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of Danielle Steel's Best Novels
'Malice' is the kind of writing that Danielle Steel does best - strong and flawed heroines dealing with serious personal life issues. This book is very emotionally heavy and involving for the reader, and is not a romance novel, so fans of Steel should be forewarned that this novel isn't her standard fare. The character of Grace Adams is well-written and many readers should find much to like about 'Malice.'

5-0 out of 5 stars wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS BOOK IS A REAL PAGE TURNER.IF YOU ENJOY DANIELLE, YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Good, but just like all the other Danielle Steel books
This book is just like every Danielle Steel book you've ever read. The plot goes something like this:girl in trouble, get's out of trouble herself, finds man, the end. There isn't much that's original to this book, and I kind of think that Danielle Steel writes her book in 'Mad Libs' style. She just changes the names of the characters, changes their occupations, and the color of the book, and wham... A new hardcover to sell for tons of money.I wouldn't recommend purchasing this book, unless you want to waste a mindless afternoon with brain candy. ... Read more
