A Collage of Unresolved Plot Devices
This play is a collage of unresolved plot devices.His idea of a dysfunctional family situation is not congruent with the reality of such a dynamic familial structure but one of his own creation.He drops in"politically correct" themes and then drops them by the waysidewith no further development.The resolution of the play appears to comeout of nowhere with no real tie in with the acts preceding it.Ahodgepodge of themes and plot devices, but all reflect the "politicalcorrectness" of the times.

Powerful yet pertinent.
I found this play to be quite reminiscent of theordeals that many youngadults encounter and their response to aforementioned using what few lifeexperiences that they have had.I believe theauthor attempted to use thebeautiful Alaskan backdrop as a means to counter some of the play'sdarkness but somewhat failed in the attempt, ormay have instead meant itto enhance the foreboding enviroment, in which case it succeeded. Overall,I found the play to be very accurate in its perception of the emotions thatplague most young adults who feel they are going nowhere. ... Read more

A great tune book
I am not a caller, and have never danced these dances, so I can't judge this collection from that perspective, however as a musician I am delighted. There aresome great tunes in here, everyone is transcribed beautifully and is very easy to read. The book contains abundant historical information about the dances, as well as quotations from the period which do a great job of setting the atmosphere for these dances.
