Excerpt: Benjamin Nathan Cardozo (May 24, 1870 July 9, 1938) was a well-known American lawyer and associate Supreme Court Justice. Cardozo is remembered for his significant influence on the development of American common law in the 20th century, in addition to his modesty, philosophy, and vivid prose style. Although Cardozo only served on the Supreme Court from 1932 until his death six years later, the majority of his landmark decisions were delivered during his eighteen year tenure on the New York Court of Appeals, the highest court of that state. The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York City is named after him. Cardozo was born in New York City, the son of Rebecca Washington (née Nathan) and Albert Jacob Cardozo. Both Cardozo's maternal grandparents, Sara Seixas and Isaac Mendes Seixas Nathan, and his paternal grandparents, Ellen Hart and Michael H. Cardozo, were Sephardi Jews of the Portuguese Jewish community affiliated with Manhattan's Congregation Shearith Israel; their families emigrated from England before the American Revolution, and were descended from Jews who left the Iberian Peninsula for Holland during the Inquisition. Cardozo family tradition held that their ancestors were Marranos from Portugal, although Cardozo's ancestry has not been firmly traced to Portugal. "Cardozo" (archaic spelling of Cardoso), "Seixas" and "Mendes" are common Portuguese surnames. Cardozo was a twin, with his sister Emily. He was a cousin of the poet Emma Lazarus. He was named for his uncle, Benjamin Nathan, a vice president of the New York Stock Ex...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=594837 ... Read more

Excerpt: "You Look Good in My Shirt" is the title of a country music song, written by Mark Nesler, Tom Shapiro, and Tony Martin, and recorded by Keith Urban for his 2002 album Golden Road. The original version charted at #60 on the country charts in 2004 based on unsolicited airplay, while a re-recorded version of the song (which was included on a re-issue of Urban's 2007 Greatest Hits: 18 Kids album) was issued as a single in June 2008. For the chart week of September 6, 2008, it has become Urban's eighth Number One song and his first Number One since "Better Life" reached Number One in late 2005. The song is an up-tempo based on electric guitar riffs. Its lyrics tell of a male and female who had previously broken up, but reunited the night before, as stated in the last half of the first verse: And the longer we talked, the more we laughedAnd wondered why we didn't lastIt had been a long time, but later last nightBaby, we caught up real fastThe chorus takes place the morning after their reunion, where the male character then sees that the female is wearing nothing but his shirt, and although he is uncertain about their relationship, he likes how she looks: Maybe it's a little too early to know if this is gonna workAll I know is you're sure lookin' good in my shirtBoth the original from Golden Road and the 2008 re-recording feature similar productions. The only differences in the newer recording are slight changes i...http://booksllc.net/?id=17997961 ... Read more
