Very nice book
It's a very nice book. I like the photographs, the story and the commitment of the writers. I'm from Holland and travel all over the world to "experience" the beauty of trees. This book can be helpful. The only thing I miss is a good map where to find them. !! I now am looking them up myself. But besides that, I wish there would be more books like this about trees all over the world. The only country where they make this kind of comprehensive and nice books is Germany. Keep on USA, I will keep on visiting you to enjoy your trees, landscapes, people and cities.

Remarkable Trees of Virginia
I don't usually spend $35 for a book but I am happy to say it's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Being from Southwest Virginia and a wildlife enthusiast, my wife and I are thoroughly enjoying the book.

Several of the trees in the book are in our area and we're having fun finding the trees ourselves.

The book is extremely interesting and informative.

I highly recommend it.

One of the ways we love VA
I bought this for my husband for his birthday.The trees are as numerous as they are remarkable. After browsing through it, my daughter observed that it made her want to see some of these remarkable beauties and characters in this great state.

Beautiful Book
This was a Christmas gift for my husband who is Forester and very hard to surprise with a gift.He loved it.We decided it would be fun to take many four day weekend trips periodically by sectioning the state off for mini-vacations to try and go see each of these "Remarkable Trees"!!!The best price I found for the book was on Amazon.Thanks!

A Remarkable Book
This book is high quality from all sorts of perspectives. It is a wonderful "coffee table" book, but it would be such a loss for someone to just leave it there and never "leaf" through it. The pictures are remarkable in the way they capture the trees and surrounding environs with beauty and perspective. The narrative information is also well written. Each page is a feast for the eyes
An excellent encyclopedia. Each topic is wonderfully illustrated, which helps to engage kids and adults alike. You browse through the book just to look at the pictures, and learn about topics you didn't even know you were interested in. The experience is immersive, nothing like googling the Internet for information, so I disagree with the person that said you don't need this book if you know google. I would happily have paid $80 for this book and it still would be worth every dollar.

It's very useful.
The condition is very good. And this book is nice and I can get a lot of information through online service.

Great Resource for Any Age
I bought this to assist with "homeschooling" my preschooler and it has a great range of info and links for all ages - she will likely be able to use it for many years to come!A great buy at this price!

If you know google, you don't need this book
This is a book for parents and children who are completely in the dark about google.It's the largest, most used search engine out there.Quite frankly, who doesn't know about Google at this point in time.Also, the links mentioned in this book that will be "maintained" and "monitored" and etc.--shouldn't parents be monitoring the sites that their children visit? Does anyone know the involvement and the amount of manpower this will take for a company to monitor ALL of these links?Next to impossible..yet only time will tell. What happened to good-old-fashioned Make Way for Ducklings?What about time away from "the web".DK is really for youngsters who can't read.YES, DK books are full of gorgeous pictures, but that's about...this is a hyped up title.You don't need it.Two stars for effort...I guess they are trying to keep up with technology? ...
