Excerpt: Denis Rookereen OKeeffe was an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Redmond's and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1900 until 1907. OKeeffe played his club hurling with the famous Redmond's team in Cork and enjoyed some success. He won back-to-back county senior championship titles with the club in 1900 and 1901. OKeeffe first tasted success on the inter-county scene with Cork in 1901 when he lined out in his first Munster final. Clare provided the opposition on that occasion and a high-scoring game followed. At the final whistle Cork were the winners by 3-10 to 2-6 and OKeeffe collected a coveted Munster winners medal. Cork subsequently defeated Galway and Wexford to set up an All-Ireland final meeting with London. Cork were the overwhelming favourites against a team of exiles which was made up of nine Cork men. A downpour made the underfoot conditions difficult as London settled better and Cork floundered. A goal for London with ten minutes left in the game sealed Corks fate and OKeeffe ended up on the losing side by 1-5 to 0-4. OKeeffe missed Corks Munster final victory over Limerick in 1902, however, he was for subsequent games. Galway and Dublin were later defeated as Cork booked their place in the All-Ireland final and, for the second year in-a-row, London provided the opposition. The game was played in Cork to mark the opening of the new Cork Athletic Ground. OKeeffes side made no mistake on this occasion and powered to a 3-13 to 0-0 victory. How you feel about this text will depend on your level of interest in this topic. If you have a high level of interest, you'll like the book; otherwise, you will be bored with the level of detail. I thought the case studies and profiles alone were worth the price of the book. The case studies describe the considerations/limitations the marketing team faced and describes the program conceived, presented from the perspectives of both client and agency. Solid, Quality Information!
I work on a charter fishing boat out of lake erie and troll for walleye. There are hundreds of elements to trolling, hundreds of methods, and strategies, and this book sums them all up in a no-nonsense manner that is very useful. It is a great reference book while out on the water, and is a must-read for anyone that is serious about trolling in a freshwater environment. Excerpt: Edward Nicholas Crane (May 27, 1862 September 20, 1896), nicknamed Cannonball, was an American right-handed pitcher and outfielder in Major League Baseball for eight seasons. He played for the Boston Reds (1884), Providence Grays (1885), Buffalo Bisons (1885), Washington Nationals (1886), New York Giants (NL) (1888-89, 1892-93), New York Giants (PL) (1890), Cincinnati Kelly's Killers (1891), Cincinnati Reds (1891), and Brooklyn Grooms (1893). Crane is one of the few players to play in four major leagues: the Union Association, the National League, the Players League, and the American Association. Born in Boston, Cannonball Crane was a man of uncommon strength. In his prime, he was described as a giant in physical strength and proportions. He reportedly could throw a baseball 135 yards, farther than anyone else who played the game in his era. After his playing career ended, he died from what was officially declared an accidental overdose but was reported by others to have been a suicide. Cannonball debuted in April 1884 with the Boston Reds of the Union Association. He played in 101 games for the Reds, including 57 as an outfielder and 42 as a catcher.
