Loved it.
Found a copy in the school library in '75. Loved the story and the illustrations. The weightier themes of the subject matter weren't apparent to me at age 5 but I loved the Disney-like story of a community of talking mice going head to head with a tribe of talking frogs. As a mammal I naturally sided with the mice. The Story becomes unspeakably violent when the actual battle begins but this just made me love it more. War is an ugly business and shouldn't be sugarcoated. I did think that it was rather odd for a child's book. ... Read more
