This book offers a comprehensive coverage of English Criminal Law.It is extremely well suited as a primary text for the Criminal Law curriculum of any LLB program. Be sure to stop by in the online resources offer by the books website and pickup the latest updates. I used it as part of University of London LLB program and I definitely benefited from it. Readable and well written and quite engaging as a textbook. Recommended for any law student wishing to gain an understanding of English Criminal Law or for faculty who would like to adopt this as their primary criminal law text. Ashton (born 1942) is the co-founder of WordPerfect Corporation and a former professor at Brigham Young University . Born in Salt Lake City , Utah , he is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and a grandson of former LDS Church president David O. McKay . Alan Ashton WordPerfect Ashton began his work in computer science in the University of Utah , studying computing and music in the early 1970s. In 1977 Ashton began work on word processing when he created a spec for an improved console-based word processor . His spec outlined various innovations at the time, including continuous documents, function key shortcuts, modeless editing, and primitive WYSIWYG formatting. Along with Bruce Bastian , his student, Ashton incorporated Satellite Software International , which would later become WordPerfect Corporation , in September 1979. In 1987, Ashton left BYU to serve full time as president and CEO of WordPerfect Corporation. Ashton ran WordPerfect as a triumvirate, along with Bastian and W.E. ("Pete") Peterson. Ashton and Bastian each controlled 49.5 % of the company, and Peterson controlled 1 %. While Ashton was the titular head of WordPerfect, Peterson ran the day-to-day operations, and was frequently misinterpreted as the head of the company by the press. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: Currently under development, the Global Information Grid (GIG) enterprise Services (ES) is a suite of capabilities intended to provide improved user access to mission-critical data via Web-based and network technologies. Some of the problems of implementing such capabilities include non-uniform data formats, incompatible run-time environments and nonstandard proprietary applications, all of which block operational interoperability. Web services are specifically designed to address the interoperability challenges of a service- oriented architecture (SOA) such as the GIG. SOAs are networked infrastructures that are designed to facilitate the interoperability of collections of services without requiring service context awareness. Standards-based Web services provide the necessary flexibility and extensibility to ensure information flow is platform, run-time and software independent.
