2-0 out of 5 stars Just Couldn't Get Into It
Libby Duclaux is a rich widow living in the Italian Alps after the death of her husband.Old friend Aaron Conrad is trying to get her to stop mourning and live again. He convinces her to return home to Washington State by telling her that her sister, who is having a high risk pregnancy, needs her help.Libby has no intention of staying long term, but Aaron is convinced he can change her mind and that he may be falling in love.

Even though we are told numerous times that Libby is a charatable, self-sacrafing person, she has a threadbare wardrobe because she gives so much money to orphans; she just came off as self-absorbed.Aaron is stock nice-guy, romantic lead.I did not realy believe thier chemestry or care for Libby. The secoundary characters are far more interesting and likeable.I am told they are featured in other Stella Cameron stories, hopefully those stories are more enjoyable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exciting, Pulse rising, and Sex all in one. A Non-stop read
This book is like none that I have read before it combines Love, Sex, Muder, and the hurt the character faces along her way. If you love books that in a way deal with the "World Wide Web" you will love this even though there is not alot of mention of it, it still leaves you thinking.... I loved this book one of the best I have read in a long time! And just the perfect plot, story, and twists and turns, keeps you guessing! Keeps you wishing that Sue Cameron would write more books! She is one of the greatest writers! No Doubt to that! And I suggest reading "Honey Dust" by Sue Cameron it is a perfect book also!

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor little rich girl finds happiness in poor plot
This is the tale of a clueless lady lawyer who stumbles into a solution for her mothers murder. Hollywood name dropping can't substitute for the shallow characterizations of the forgettable main characters. A tedious plot line leads to a string of implausable circumstances in the final chapter. The author's research shows through in some nice scenic descriptions, but there's not nearly enough of travelogue to make up for the crumby plot. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars BAD DAYS FOR CHARLEY HANNA, TOWN MARSHAL

Charley Hanna, town marshal of Dry Creek, Colorado, is about to experience many unpleasant things over the next few days and nights as Dry Creek is set upon by Noah Murphy and his killer gang. Somehow Noah gets the feeling that his brother, whom Noah has recently shot to death, has revealed to Charley and a couple others where stolen money is hidden. This is a novel about bad men laying seige to a town, but it is also a book concerning more than good and evil, in the harm that lies and gossip can cause. How those near truths, lies and outright slander can divide a once peaceful town into two armed camps. Though Charley will 'lose' the town in a manner of speaking he will gain the love of his life.

Few westerns offer the combination of excellent writing, good story, and interesting characters as this book by Cameron Judd. If you are anything like me, and enjoy an excellent western, then pardner this is the one for you. And the good news is:there are many other books in print by this author as well.

Product Description
In the tradition of Louis L'Amour's Sackett series, Cameron Judd's bestselling Underhill novels chronicle the dramatic saga of the early American frontier, of the men and women who came together as friends, family, and enemies, and of the pioneers who pushed westward and marked a land with their courage and blood.

They made their way across the Mississippi and carved out a home on the Missouri frontier. Not, Bushrod Underhill and his three youngest sons must leave it behind. From Texas, the word has come that Bushrod's son, John , has disappeared along with his family, victims of lawless land. Following the trail of a legend known as Davy Crockett, Bushrod sets out to save his eldest son. But in a journey that will bring them up against madmen and killers, innocents and old enemies, Bushrod and his boys cannot stop until they go gun-to-gun with a man who has built an empire of betrayal and violence-and who holds the key not only to John Underhill's fate, but to the future of a free land called Texas...

Compared to such Western giants as Max Brand, Luke Short, and Louis L'Amour, he has been called the New Voice of the Old West. With over one million of his books in print, Cameron Judd powerfully brings to life, as no one else can, the struggles of a generation of Americans on a harsh and beautiful frontier.

The year-old mining town had a rich vein of silver and a heart of darkness. For in the middle of Snow Sky was a man possessed by hatred and violence, and passing himself off as a minister. Now Tudor Cochran, the honest husband of a worried woman, has come to Snow Sky to ask some questions about a sad-looking boy who stopped at the Cochrans' inn. And what Cochran finds in Snow Sky is a gathering of enemies, strangers and conspirators who have all come together around one man's violent past and deadly future. For Cochran, there is only one way out of Snow Sky: by helping an outgunned sheriff separate the truth from a storm of lies-and the innocent from the damned...

5-0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!
I have read a lot of Cameron Judd's books, but this is my favorite. It is well written and it keeps the reader on edge all the way till the very end.I would recommend this book to other readers without hesitation. ~dumpling~

5-0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT BOOK!!!
I think the thing I like most about this book is what it is not.It isnot about an overly-handsome cowboy who can "not" be outrode, outdrawn, outshot, outsmarted, or outfought. It is about everydaycharacters that one would find in any town in the old west.It tells theirstory, and along the way draws the reader into their lives. One feels likeone knows each character, whether they are good or evil.Snow Sky centersaround Tudor Cochran and his wife's request that he make sure a young boyis safe. What results is mystery, mayham, and murder. When I finishedreading the book..all I could think was..Wow. There is so much action goingon that there is never a dull moment. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Mediocre work
The love story here didn't ring very true to me.The hero was TOO sensitive to be believed. A wonderfully moving romance from a best-selling and award-winning author - Leah Cornish knew she was gambling her future on a man she’d only met once, but did she have a choice? Guy Hamilton seemed to understand her, and his kind eyes had not judged. He’d offered her his help – and now she needed it. She knew too that she would have to forget those feelings she had for him, feelings she’d refused to name. But how can she, when those very feelings are all that she has left?

4-0 out of 5 stars VERY, WONDERFULLY EMOTIONAL
Disregard previous review - is not of this book.
SHADOWS is the story of Guy Hamilton and Leah Cornish.
And his love for a married woman [at least when he met her].

When her husband, Charles died after eleven years of marriage Leah wasn't sure where to turn.
Then she received a sympathy note from Guy Hamilton offering to help her in any way possible.

Imagine her surprise, when she leaves everything she knows to run for help to Guy and when he arrives he is dressed in black with a clerical collar. She sees that the feelings she'd harbored for him would have to be forgotten.

This is a wonderful story of how a woman must make the most of the circumstances and get back on her feet and start life over again. Her husband had gone through a small fortune and left her with nothing but her determination to live again.

And Guy?He is widowed but fighting the emotions he carries for Leah.

Definitely a good read. will recommmend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Finally Dori's Story ( Jensen)
Having enjoyed the Mckeon Brothers stories so much, I was excited to find this anthology of sorts. Finally we get to find out if Sal and Dori ever make it happen. But the story has a few interseting twists and some angst. that at times seemed to be a bit over done.

Dori finds she must come to terms with who and what she is to make a new start. Part of the plan includes divorcing her husband who left her at the alter, for another woman. But now two years later the problems keep mounting when she needs his help when she finds a baby in her back seat with a notesaying the bio mothers no longer can care for him, oh yeah the baby come with $11,572 as well. Although both Sal and Dori join together to take care of Max, will it be enough to bring them together and keep them that way?

Not a fan of overbearing Latin men, I was especially pleased to find I really liked Sal. A great hero for our Dori if only she would quit whinning, but in true Mckeon fashion she rises to the occasion leaving the reader satisfied as well as the entire Mckeon clan.

For those who have read the other McKeon brothers books this is a must read, allyour favorites are back. And you get a backlist Stella Cameron story in the bargain, for the price of a single title. Not bad and a great read!! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars This review refers to the audiobook
The intrusive ghostly presences, which other reviews refer to, have been omitted from this audiobook. Too bad the abridged version didn't also tone down some of the highly graphic sex scenes and replace them with a more details/clues regarding the mystery, which I found confusing and hard to follow, especially when listened to and not read directly. The reader did an outstanding job in providing distinctive voices for each character. There was lots of action to keep the story flowing, and it is always refreshing to have a strong independent female protagonist in a Regency/Victorian novel.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well I loved it!
After reading all the reviews here you can tell that folks either adored this book or hated it.Add me to the adored column, because I devoured this book in one weekend and have it on my keeper shelf.Yes, there are graphic sex scenes but I think they advance the plot - they establish the lengths to which the characters are willing to go to get what they want.I like Sybil's independence and understand Hunter's reluctance so I cannot agree with those who say the plot is unrealistic.Except for the ghost, but he is hysterically funny and his interruptions are a welcome addition.I love this whole series, but this is my favorite of the bunch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sweet love story with steamy love scenes
This is my first read of Stella Cameron's work. She has an unusual style but I found that I enjoyed the story.I liked the hero, Hunter, mostly because he seems more human compared to the conventional heros in romance novels.Unlike romances written for this era, the men in this series, come with flaws despite their wealth, power and good looks. This makes them more believable.Hunter is not your brooding hero, but being a lawyer, he has a certain sense of confidence and control about him.Of course, everything changes when he is around Sybil. He's attracted to her but deny's the attraction mostly because he thinks he knows what's better for her, overlooking the fact that she's loves no one else but him.In the meantime, Sybil's determination to have a baby with him and Hunter's struggle to resist his own growing love for her, sets the stage for a romance highly strung with anticipation.

I also liked the fact that the women in the story were not afraid of asking questions. One can't help but like Sybil, for she is an kind and innocent, and yet, is determined to defy convention and overcome her ignorance. Her revelations on physical intimacy is amusing and yet endearing, for she is wants only Hunter.

What I found surprising was that one would have never thought, after reading the first few pages, that the love scenes would be so explicit. The style of writing masks the racier dialogues between the characters. If you enjoy steamy love scenes, amidst an intriguing storyline, then I would recommend this book. However, I do have to warn that it does take some time getting used to the style at the beginning, and it may be true that the author is still searching for her signature style, but in general, I believe Ms. Cameron has a lot of potential.

P.S:Contrary to a comment from one of the reviewers, I don't believe Hunter had sex with the girl in the pub.He was pretending to do so because she would have gotten into trouble otherwise.I reread the scene a couple of times after reading the comment, and strongly believe that he had merely made it look like they were.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!- Susan Johnson meets Julia Quinn
This is the first Stella Cameron book I've read and I can't believe this is out of print. Thank goodness I got my hands on a copy! Her characters are positively endearing and the circumstances are hilarious! The sex is great and unashamed, the heroine is a true woman and the hero is charming without being ridiculous. I think I've fallen in love with Hunter and Sybil along the way. If you can find a copy, BUY IT!

1-0 out of 5 stars Skip it, run, don't even consider it.
This book was terrible. The first out of hundreds I never finished. The setting had potential and I love steamy love scenes, but these were just...gross, frustrating and weird. Way too graphic for even this genre. And Ghost inhabitants that sort of act as narrators, I skipped those before I realized I was wasting my time with the book altogether. Our time is just too valuable. Really, skip this one. It was my first by this author, and unfortunately, now she's on my black list. ... Read more

Product Description
Join bestselling author Stella Cameron as she returns to 7 Mayfair Square, the elegant London town house where matchmaking and mayhem are always in the air.

Why would England's "Most Daring Lover" risk his reputation by falling madly in love with a nobody, a shabbily dressed milliner's assistant who lived in poverty -- and was clearly in trouble? Because Latimer More of 7A Mayfair Square saw something in Jenny McBride, an orphaned Scottish lass, that nobody had: unsinkable optimism, a brave spirit and a face that haunted his dreams.

Jenny was amazed by Latimer's advances. He fascinated her, but surely he couldn't really be interested in her? Besides, she had more pressing concerns. She was fighting off the attentions of a cruel man who wanted to claim her in exchange for canceling her debts.

Jenny would not involve Latimer in the dangerous game that threatened her. But Latimer would not abandon Jenny. The result? A madcap race against time and danger, upheaval at Number 7, and an unlikely match that could not be more perfect -- or challenging! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Story
This was a great read.I didn't really care for the ghost and skipped almost all of his story line and some other parts were also not necessary but if you are looking for a great love story then you have it here. The hero and heroine are very sweet and likable characters and I enjoyed reading as they fell in love. The ending was strange and seemed only to be there to add another love scene. It seemed to be written in a style that reminded me of Georgette Heyer - minus the love scenes of course.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
i couldn't put this book down like her other books. can't wait for what about adam. i hopes it's like this one.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible!!
What a bore!I've tried three times to get through this book and it's all I can do to make it through a page.I just finally gave up and threw it away. What a shame that this formally-gifted author is now writing drivel.

4-0 out of 5 stars fun regency romance
In 1823 at 7 Mayfair Street in London, Latimer More knows he has found his love of a lifetime in Jenny McBride. However, the poverty stricken Scottish lass cannot believe he even remotely cares about her.Like his family and the other tenants, Jenny finds it impossible to believe that someone as successful in business and with women like Latimer could love a pathetic orphan like Jenny.

Jenny has other problems to deal with besides an alleged mooning suitor. She owes rent and her landlord wants her to barter sex as payment. She refuses his offers, but Mr. Bucket is not a man that easily accepts any denial of his pleasures. Can Jenny turn to Latimer or is he faking affection to get into her boudoir?

THE ORPHAN is a fun regency romance that follows the story of two middle class types.Latimer is a heroic individual, but THE ORPHAN belongs to the title character Jenny. Her struggles with Bucket while debating whether Latimer is her savior or a leap from the frying pan into the fire make the tale. The return of the Shakespearean-spouting ghost adds humor as Stella Cameron provides a fresh look at the era with an engaging yet simplistic tale.

Excerpt: James Byron Dean (February 8, 1931 September 30, 1955) was an American film actor. Dean's status as a cultural icon is best embodied in the title of his most celebrated film, Rebel Without a Cause, in which he starred as troubled Los Angeles teenager Jim Stark. The other two roles that defined his star were as loner Cal Trask in East of Eden, and as the surly farmer Jett Rink in Giant. His enduring fame and popularity rests on only these three films, his entire output in a starring role. His death at an early age cemented his legendary status. He was the first actor to receive a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and remains the only person to have two posthumous acting nominations. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Dean the 18th best male movie star on their AFI's 100 Years100 Stars list. James Dean was born on February 8, 1931, at the Seven Gables apartment house in Marion, Indiana to Winton Dean and Mildred Wilson. Six years after his father had left farming to become a dental technician, James and his family moved to Santa Monica, California. 3-0 out of 5 stars read it for Stuart's story
** "Straight from the Heart" by Janelle Taylor.

O. M. G. If this were a play, I'd say the actors were chewing the scenery. Horribly overdone. It's an okay premise--the hero's law firm represented the heroine's ex-husband in a custody battle, and a mutual friend sets them up to be stranded in a cabin together. But the story goes downhill from there. Every reaction is exaggerated--for example, at one point the hero throws his head back and laughs... at something mildly amusing. And what was up with the "wheat bread"? Am I missing something? They've got bread, and it's mentioned multiple times, and there's only one kind of bread, but every time it's mentioned it's always "wheat bread." Really started to drive me nuts. We won't mention the exclamation marks.

*** "Summer Fantasy" by Jill Marie Landis.

TV screenwriter's agent sends her to Kauai to relax and get over writer's block. The handsome Hawaiian B&B owner is the hero. The descriptions were very nice. I saw the "twist" coming from the first assumption the heroine made about the hero. Too much authorial intrusion took away from the story. And the heroine... first, she's a the pinnacle of her profession at age 25. I thought we'd given that up in the 80s. And then she's all hot for the hero, so she's hostile toward him, comes on to him and then gets mad at him for responding.

*½ "Early in the Morning" by Stella Cameron.

WTF moment #1: we have a couple who's on the eve of getting married, and they've--or rather she's--just now decided they ought to discuss sex.
WTF moment #2: so he repeatedly changes the subject, avoids the question, and finally accuses her of being sex-obsessed.
WTF moment #3: she doesn't actually dump his sorry butt. I have zero problem with a couple deciding to wait until marriage for sex. But I do think it's something they would/should discuss before, you know, the night before the wedding. And his reaction? That really doesn't bode well for a happy marriage.
WTF moment #4: we get the reason for his reluctance--his ex-wife told him he wasn't any good in bed. Isn't that pretty much standard? Don't an awful lot of divorcing people accuse their exes of being bad in bed?
WTF moment #5: the aliens show up. And....

I can't go on. It gets worse from there, if you can believe it. It's a complete mess. What the aliens want, how they communicate, how the couple plans to get away, and then how things change at the end--none of it makes any sense. Okay, I've got to add one last WTF moment because I just can't believe it:
WTF moment # whatever: they don't want to have actual sex where the aliens can observe them. BUT they have no problem with getting completely naked and having oral sex with the aliens watching.

***** "Sultry" by Anne Stuart.

This is why I bought the book. And it made it worth it. Stuart's an exceptional author. From the first page, I felt myself relax and sink into the story of a saloon owner and the town's new sheriff. She packed a ton of story into a novella length, and I still didn't feel rushed or like things were left out. Emotional, lush, descriptive, even suspenseful. She makes it look so easy. Quite possibly, the contrast between this story and the others in the anthology account for a half a star here, but it deserves it for being stuck in a book with duds.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent compilation
"Summer Love" is a decent compilation of stories by four established authors. All four manage the novella form well, with believable and appealing characters and good writing.

Janelle Taylor is the editor and featured writer in this compilation with her story "Straight from the Heart."As is often the case with these compilations, her story ends up the weakest.Kim is stranded in a mountain cabin with Stephen, to whom she is attracted.Unfortunately, Stephen's law firm represented her lying husband in her divorce and she still holds onto that resentment.Kim is a decent character, although she seems overly bitter towards Stephen. The hero Stephen is OK, butthe story doesn't give much of a sense of him, and their "romance" isn't well-developed within the confines of the novella form.Still, it's a sweet little love story.

"Summer Fantasy" by Jill Marie Landis is one of the better stories in this group. The character of Kylee is especially strong, and the romance between the two is well-developed and believable.A good story with an ending I bought into.

Stella Cameron is a talented author, and the plot of "Early in the Morning" is an interesting one, as it involves aliens seeking humans as sex therapists. As always, Cameron handles her erotic scenes very well, and her writing is very distinctive. This story also works well in the novella format.I'm not sure I always bought into this story, but Cameron's work is always interesting if nothing else.

Anne Stuart's "Sultry" is a decent story. The characters were appealing and the romance believable. The story itself is nothing distinctive or special, but it's a decent addition to this compilation.

All in all, this is an enjoyable compilation, with good writing and charming characters. While some stories are weaker than others, Landis's strong contribution and Cameron's distinctive writing style give it an edge over other similar compilations.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
This is my favorite story by her.She used Hawaiian words and described the setting so well it brought back great memories of my trips to Kauai. The characters were magic and I love the description of Rick Pau-he's mydream guy! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Now You Don't, See Him that is!
If you've read Stella Cameron you're familiar with Toussaint. Louisiana and you're about to go back again in this spicy thriller that stars Ellie Byron, who ran away from home when she was fifteen, winding up in Toussaint, where she now owns a bookstore. Two years ago Ellie witnessed a woman murdered with an ice pick during Mardi Gras and though she could not identify the killer, her testimony helped put him away. Charles Penn was the man she helped send up the river and now, during a prison transfer, he's escaped. And not long after another woman is ice picked to death and it looks like Penn may be the killer.

However, maybe not, as the murders are apparently copies of murders in local mystery writer Sonia Elliot's books. It turns out she'd written a couple books called DEATH AT MARDI GRAS and DEATH IN DIAMONDS and the two ice pick murders mirror the killings in those books. As it turns out Ms. Elliot has another book about to come out and Ellie has an advance copie, so she's got a pretty good idea how the next killing is going to take place. Only trouble is, is Ellie going to be the victim.

So there you have the premise of a very good mystery. Mix that up with Ms. Cameron's very steamy sex scenes and you have the kind of book that both thrills and excites. I loved this book, but then I love most anything Ms. Cameron writes. Oh yeah, I forget to mention what Ellie ran away from, oh wait, I guess that's one of the many things I'll have to leave to you to find out when you read the book.

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst books I've read in a long time
This is the first book I've read in a long time where I really truly didn't want to finish it, it was that bad. I wouldn't even rank this half a star if Amazon would let me; the writing was just absolutely atrocious, there were too many characters and plots to keep track of, the whole thing with Madge and Cyrus was just stupid and pointless, the ending was ridiculous and the characters were just stupid how they changed their minds every five seconds. It's truly a book you suffer through to get to the end. Unbelievably horrid; I never want to pick up another book by Cameron again.

1-0 out of 5 stars on my list as one of 10 worst books!
I agree with everything said in all the one star reviews! The writing, editing, character development, storytelling and sex in this book were horrible. I spent only a dollar on it at a used book sale but it wasn't even worth that. I read it to the end to see if it improved but it was a colossal waste of time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Series keeps improving
Two years ago, Ellie Byron witnessed a murder during Mardi Gras from her hotel balcony. She was not able to identify the killer, but habitual criminal Charles Penn was still convicted of the crime. Penn escapes from prison and another victim turns up with a similar MO that is patterned after a series of mystery novels, and the police think that the killer may want to harm Ellie.

Ellie has a tragic past. An orphan at ten, she ran away and managed to be taken in by a not so nice family. After a couple of attacks by who she thinks is Penn, she is reluctant to go to the authorities. She fears that further investigation into her background may bring light to her not so pleasant past. But neighbor and attorney Joe has eyes for Ellie and pledges to keep her safe.

While the culprit is relatively easy to discover, the chemistry between the leads and the quirky citizens that make up the Toussaint parish allow the reader to forgive a lot of things, and makes for an entertaining story including the inclusion of characters from a supposedly unrelated novel popping up near the end. But, will Joe and Ellie be able to figure out who the killer is before the next mystery novel (aptly titled "Death of a Witness") is published?

And any reader familiar with the Toussaint series will like catching up with old characters from previous novels. Just one question - when will Father Cyrus renounce his vows and take up with Madge already?

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't get much worse than this
There are way too many characters to follow. Ms. Caneron's descriptions of sexual encounters and violence is graphically over the top.And in the final chapter, the storeroom sex between the bride and groom at their wedding party made me want to take a bath in a strong antiseptic. I tossed this book in the trash! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A treat for the brain!
Brain Longevity: The Breakthrough Medical Program that Improves Your Mind and Memory I purchased this title after perusing another book by the author and noting his expertise gained through his medical practice combined with his sincere commitment to integrative medicine, treating mind, body and spirit.I needed a resource for a research class, and found his explanations to be simplified without being patronizing, and his style to include real stories of how people utilized and benefitted from a wholistic practice.I took the book when I traveled to visit my sister, who was taking a neuropathophysiology class, and just when I was getting into the 'tofu' of the book; gave it away because she really could use how he broke complex contexts and detailed definitions into very accessible lay explanations and examples. So I ordered another one! It's very inspiring - the research on how you can restore your brain, extend your longevity and help others by your example.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brain Longevity - A Book Worth Wide Readership
I had a good idea of the book's content from flipping through a friend's copy. It has lived up to expectations. On the strength of having browsed the book's content, I ordered three so that I would be able to pass two on to a sister and to a close friend. They are both delighted with the book, and have already started to try to put its advice into practice.

Plausible advice about brain-helpful diet and life style, clearly explained and illustrated with case anecdotes. I am happy with my purchase and with the service by Amazon partners. [The book was in excellent condition as stated and had been careful packed for despatch.]

4-0 out of 5 stars Brain Longevity---I want it!
Excellent summary with a simple and clear explanation of medical/scientific descriptions of what impacts our brain functions. Important information for baby boomers who are starting to experience the effects of poor nutrition, lack of exercise, and continual daily stress---managing work, home, children, and care for aging parents. The book did cover information I've read in other resources. However, I'll keep this book as a reference manual, while I implement some of the practices recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars So Interesting!!
I think this book is fantastic. You don't have to be a brain or a doctor to understand the basic function of your brain and body.I couldn't stop reading this book and going back on pages. You also don't have memory loss to appreciate this book.If you are suffering from depression, weight gain, loss of sexual libido or addictions everything is connected.I have/had postpartum depression and am taking antidepressants and wanted to find out the Real reason why my brain stopped functioning normally and also why I couldn't concentrate anymore. This book has been a great help and I started taking some of the recommended supplements and I am seeing a great improvement within only a few days! The only problem with this book is that it is hard to find all the vitamins at his recommended dosages. When you read this book it is best to keep your own notes on what to take and do.It would be great if I could see him and get an evaluation on my body chemistry but I am on my own here and so I am finding the vitamins as best I can. (note: I don't live in the US)
My advice to you and don't wait until memory loss or old age get this book now, read it and decide for yourself if what he says is valid.I think he is a kind & compassionate doctor who is really here to help people.

3-0 out of 5 stars Food for Thought
Easy to read and full of useful information. Dr Dharma's enthusiasm is encouraging to anyone seeking further knowledge in this complex area. His holistic approach rings true to me and I very much appreciate his emphasis on working together with one's usual medical doctor as well as other complementary health professionals. His suggested dosages of nutritional supplements are much higher than what I have found in other literature - this being more 'food for thought'. ... Read more

Product Description
In the names of justice, fun and, most of all, love, the residents of Mayfair Square are about to challenge fate . . . yet again.

Return with New York Times bestselling author Stella Cameron to fabulous 7 Mayfair Square, where the outrageous is commonplace.

Adam Chillworth is a hard man. The mysterious and talented portrait artist of 7C Mayfair Square is passionately in love with Princess Desiree, though he has consistently refused her ardent adoration, convinced that he's too old and too worldly for her. And he is, after all, only a commoner.

But Desiree -- returning after months away nursing a broken heart -- has a plan. She'll show him that she has matured, that she's no longer given to childish infatuations. She'll treat him as an old friend. How unfortunate that each time she's with him she imagines passionate encounters.

But while audacious Desiree is pursuing the Plan, ruthless enemies from Adam's secret past are closing in on him, placing them both in desperate peril. As he fights with cool and deadly skill, Desiree discovers that Adam Chillworth is a dangerous man. Dangerous to hate -- and to love. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Boring and Not Worth It
After reading the other books in the Mayfair 7 series, I expected this book the be good and edge-gripping. It turned out to be incredible boring. The characters didn't have a set personality and came off as shallow. I thought it was kind of like a movie with bad actors, you couldn't bring the characters to life. There was very little plot. They got together near the beginning, so there was no suspense. The writing was very choppy and made little sense. I wanted to stop reading the book and just burn it. I was very disappointed with her work.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another Mayfair Square classic
This book is another in the series of Mayfair Square books. In this one Adam and Desiree FINALLY have their romance. It is not a book that will make you think but their love is true and I loved hearing their story after so much previous build-up in the previous Mayfair Square books. It was a sweet book with a lot of sub-plot.I definitely recommend it- but you might want to start with the earlier books so you can get the backstory.

3-0 out of 5 stars a nice bonbon of a book
A nice romance about a painter and a princess. The story is placed against the background of Mayfair Square in the first quarter of the 19 century. We have the standard 'princess oppressed by her station, in love with a commoner' story.Mayfair Square is also, apparently, the scene of more than one Stella Cameron novel. This is a story to read when you don't want to think too deeply and are looking for a feel-good read.

The painter, Adam Chillworth, is in love with Princess Desiree, who returns his passion. But the princess' station in life and the fact that Adam has been cut off from his family means that there are obstacles to a union of marriage.Marriage is accomplished in order to resolve the Princess' problems, but opens the couple to further complications.Of course, this is a romance, so the suspense resides in HOW the obstacles are overcome, not in whether or not they ARE overcome.A nice bonbon!

1-0 out of 5 stars Choppy, disconnected and only somewhat entertaining
I was a fan of the other Mayfair series, so I had expectations that this current book would be just as entertaining. Sad to say, however, it just was lackluster. The book is written in a very choppy way and everybody, even the characters we already knew, all just came across as shallow and not very well defined. I found myself often confused as to where exactly they were physically or what had happened and had to turn back a page or two to find the reference where someone had left a room or entered a room or similar things. It was just unfocused and disjointed. The story isn't horribly bad, but everything just seems trite and shallow. Sad to say, as I do like the other novels, but this one just isn't worth it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring!!!
I usually am determined to finish a book after I have paid good money for it, but I found this one such a waste of time I put it down half way through. The characters are unbelievable and for the most part boring.I wasn't in the least bit interested in how the two main characters ended up together - overwrought agonising over age, worth and position page after page after page! The last by this author for me. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not Stella Cameron's best effort
Glasshouses falls down for me in the rather cliched (American)portrayal ofOlivia as a supposedly eccentric Englishwoman. She calls her parents 'Mummy' and 'Daddy.'Ick.Honestly, who does this past the age of 5 to 7 years today? The numbers of adult people who do this today must surely be getting smaller...some UK upper class, some southern US states? The rest of us just cringe. Add this to her poor clothes sense, and being considered 'wacky,' and it adds up to a sense of her as someone to whom you want to say 'grow up!'

The dialogue is corny as another review has noted. Not only for the English characters, but also the New York cops.Olivia's mother says, for example, that she is 'bemused' by Olivia. It just doesn't read as something most people in the English-speaking world would say today.

The dialogue and characerisations give a cliched and somewhat old fashioned view of English people (twee upper class dialogue, darling) juxtaposed with a cliched view of New York cops.

2-0 out of 5 stars bad guys good, good guys bad
The bad guys in this book -- Kitty, Ryan, Fats, Rupert, Winston -- were interesting and even funny. But the good guys -- Olivia, Aiden -- were stilted, boring, and overly talky. Even the sex scenes, by both good and bad guys, were unrealistic, boring and not even erotic. And these good guys TALK SO MUCH! There's supposed to be action in a thriller. Oh, and the few action scenes there were, were also unrealistic. Just how many tries does one have to knock the gun out of someone's hand?
I love a good thrillers and mysteries, but this was not one of them.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Interesting Enough
This is my first Stella Cameron novel and it may be my last.I gave the book's first 100 pages the benefit of the doubt but then I started skipping pages, then chapters and finally decided that I didn't care what happened to the characters and skimmed to the end. The storyline of a Brittish photographer who flees to a NYPD detective for help after meeting online wasn't convincing and didn't flow.I found myself asking "why would they do that?" a lot.I couldn't get into the characters and found the dialogue boring.

2-0 out of 5 stars Can You Say "Trite" and "Unbelievably Predictable"?
I have to admit it... I'm a book snob and normally don't sit around reading this type of (ahem) "novel".In fact, the only reason a Stella Cameron book found its way into my possession at all is because my mother left it behind after a visit.I read it out of sheer boredom and within ten minutes could have told anyone interested enough to ask who, exactly, was tipping off the "bad guys".Needless to say, I wasn't surprised at the ending but the REASON for the actions of this mole was far-fetched, to say the least.

As for the characters themselves, I agree with everyone who referred to Olivia as a "dishrag".Give me a break!Okay, let's see... someone breaks into her house, comes to her door, follows her, pushes a "lookalike" over a rail platform and the only recourse she can think of is asking advice from an e-mail stranger????Somehow, I think at that point a normal person would be suspicious of all strangers (and probably half her friends... except she seems to have none) and would be seriously considering 911 (or the British equivalent). And, yes, there was some extremely choppy writing.I, too, noted the fact that Olivia mentioned that she was on the pill for reasons other than birth control (I don't remember her "crying" over it, though) and Aidan wondering what other possible reason there could be for taking the pill (here, Cameron is, apparently, subtly opining that all men are stupid). The only reason for this conversation in the first place is, I assume, to indicate that yes, Olivia is a responsible woman but she's not some floozy who takes the pill just so she can sleep around.Either way, she certainly finds her way into Aidan's bed quickly enough. The rapidly building passion and its almost immediate dance between the sheets was odd... Olivia certainly didn't seem the type and Aidan, her protector, was someone you would think would have a bit more self-control.

This story flip-flops from locale to locale and the reader is left wondering what the point is.And, if they were on the run, how did they get on a plane to England without the enemies catching on (didn't they have a heck of a time in airports at the start of their adventures?)?Overall, this is a rather poorly written book that seems slapped together rather than well plotted.I literally guffawed at the sudden appearance of Olivia's agent, or whatever she was, as a nemisis (again, a very shabby reason for behaving badly and why pick on Olivia, anyway?).At that point the book went from merely bad to laughable.I can't imagine seeking out any further Stella Cameron tomes... not even if they're left behind.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor
Before Glass Houses, I had read one Stella Cameron book (The Best Revenge) and although I hadn't been too impressed I decided to give her a second shot. I was *very* wrong to have done so. I slogged my way through GH and ended up skim reading the last quarter of the book so that I could finish and forget about it. Not only was the plot and writing very poor, the characters were trite and cliched. Speaking as an Englishwoman, I was appalled how Olivia was portrayed... ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars He Doth Protest TOO Much!
After a visit to an old friend, the Dowager Marchioness of Granville made an offer to sponsor one of their daughters, granting the opportunity to visit London and be presented to the ton in the hope of contracting a marriage that would be beneficial to her family.Miss Fleur Toogood, second eldest daughter, was considered the best looking of the five sisters to make a good match. The only problem with Fleur was that she was opinionatedand spoke her mind, oftentimes with disastrous results. Fleur also was adamant in her belief to marry for love, or not at all.

Lord Dominic the dowager's youngest son was appointed by her to be Fleur's chaperone and champion.Dominic, who was busy secretly trying to ferret out a villain who was kidnapping for ransom some of the ton's recent debutantes, reluctantly accepted his mothers appeal and took his chaperoning duties seriously though with little grace. His arrogance raised Fleur's hackles but she did manage to charm him even as she inadvertently eavesdropped and discovered his `other business' of trying to save the ton's virginal daughters from the clutches of `The Cat'.

As Fluer was introduced to and declared an `original' with the ton, Dominic did his best to find her a worthy husband.Fortunately, along the way and somewhere deep in his heart, he knew the only one that could meet her high standards or embrace them, and not stifle her natural exuberance was Dominic himself.

Finally, Dominic was only an okay hero and his desire to remain unwed when he felt such an intense attraction towards Fleur was a bit flimsy. The writing was, of course, well done with wonderful dialogs and a substantial amount of secondary characters to make this an interesting read. The suspense of the identity of `The Cat' was kept right up to the very end, although I had guessed half way thru the identity of his accomplice. What garnered this a low rating was the rather one-sided romance between Fleur and Dominic. If one didn't know that the hero was to be Dominic, I would have thought Franklin the best choice after the delightful lunch they had together when he made her laugh with his funny faces. However, Fleur was a gal after my own heart and I loved her honesty and outspokenness as she let her feelings be known, but Dominic needed lessons in the romance department - not to say he didn't have his moments - they were just too few and far between.Bottom Line - This was an okay read, well-written, with enough intrigue to keep the reader interested, but sadly lacking in any heart stopping romance.

3-0 out of 5 stars PROMISING START BUT IT DID NOT DELIVER
The Dowager Marchioness of Granville has asked her youngest son to chaperone an old friend's impoverished daughter during her "Season". But after Fleur Toogood appears at the Heatherly estate, it becomes apparent that the Dowager may be up to some matchmaking between the beautiful Fleur and her no-nonense, crime-fighting son, Dominic. He balks at his assignment because besides helping to run his family's holdings, he is attempting (with a little assistance from older brother, Nathan) to apprehend a serial kidnapper who has been preying on the ton's eligible young ladies.

This book starts out promising - the interludes involving the villain and his accomplices are sufficiently creepy but it all seems to peter out during the inevitable climax.Without giving away the kidnapper's identity, I found his character and motivations very intriguing. When he admits that he has changed his plan to kill Fleur and now plans to escape with her by sea in the hopes he can make her fall in love with him, I thought, wow,how much more interesting would it have been to have had the villain embroiled in a love triangle with Fleur and Dominic.

There is alot of dialogue - sometimes you need a scorecard to keep up with all of the comings and goings - almost reminiscent of a '30s screwball comedy.Cameron managed to sustain the romantic tension until the end, then it seemed she hurriedly added a lackluster honeymoon night.Dominic's proclamation of love and marriage proposal lacked the tenderness that Fleur deserved.

1-0 out of 5 stars Scattered Story
Fleur Toogood is the second of five daughter of a local parson, who has come to London on behalf of the hero's mother to have a season. The purpose is to gain a husband who will not only mind her lack of a dowry but will also secure the fortunes of the rest of her sisters and parents.

Dominic Elliot is the youngest of five sons.By day, Dominic will be escorting young Fleur around town, sponsoring her during her first season.By night, Dominic catches criminals. His latest case involves a kidnappers called "The Cat."The Cat has been kidnapping young women from their families and gaining a ransom to have them returned with their virginity intact.

This book has several problems:(1) Dominic and Fleur have absolutely NO chemistry throughout the entire book.Frankly, I did not see what attracted Fleur to Dominic. He underminded her every move and doubted her ability to do anything on her own.Fleur seemed too much of a free spirit for Dominic, and it was hard to see the allure. This also made for a very boring book.(2) The secondary characters got confusing as they continued to multiply. (3) I was not sure if I should be routing for the brother, Nathan, to win Fleur's hand or not.(4) The mystery/kidnapping part of the plot was not fluid and really made me loose interest after a few chapters.

This was the first Stella Cameron book I've ever read. She apparently does not do Regency much and it shows.Definitely avoid this book.It is not worth the time or the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Promising Premise, Disappointing Delivery
I picked this book up in the airport just before a cross country flight. I had never read a book by Stella Cameron and will probably never read one again. While the premise promised an interesting regency romance, the novel delivered a disappointing plot that was badly written. My first major problem with the book was the lack of accurate vernacular for the period the novel was depicting. Half of the words out of the characters mouths would not have been in the vocabulary of a nineteenth century British aristocrat. Next, the inaccurate portrayal of British society drove me nuts. Almost all the characters acted in a twenty-first century manner. The author's writing left much to be desired, oftentimes her prose was confusing. Her writing did not flow in a manner that made it easy for the reader to understand what she was trying to say. Aside from these problems were the obvious plot holes and lack of continuity and believable character development. Chloe had too big a vocabulary for a five-year-old. If Harry really looked so much like Noel, than how come Dominic and Nathan didn't catch on sooner, and why would Fleur, a young, unmarried woman recognize Hattie's pregnancy symptoms? The motives of the villains were obscured in the story and made absolutely no sense. The entire plot was wrapped up in a neat little bow at the end, in an unrealistic way, satisfying all the characters and leaving little denouement with no explanation. All in all, I would not recommend this novel to anyone that is easily distracted by bad writing and unrealistic settings and character development.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Fine Story, But...
TESTING MISS TOOGOOD is enjoyable but it did not quite live up to the book's description of a promising great read.I would have liked the author to concentrate on the romance of Lord Dominic and Fleur.I felt it was overall underdeveloped and the secondary characters were not explained well enough to know who they are and where they exactly fit.The mystery aspect of the villain, Le Chat Soyeux and hero, Brother Juste is an interesting aspect, but I felt it took too much from the main storyline of the romance between Lord Dominic and Fleur. The mystery was not as essentially necessary.Despite all this, it is enjoyable.

This story is a sequel to A USEFUL AFFAIR.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mad About The Man
Gaby MacGregor is shocked and apalled, Jacques LeDan has plans to turn the town of Goldstrike into a theme park! Gaby first discovered Goldstrike years earlier when while driving through it got a flat. She not only got a new tire, but she found her home and now someone wants to turn it into a place with people dressed like leprechauns.

Jacques has grown bored with the candymaking business and is for the first time in awhile excited about something. Jacques is anxious to turn the little town of Goldstrike into something his grandfather would have been proud of.He is surprised when he sees so much opposition and that the ringleader of the opposition is sexy Gaby MacGregor.

Jacques and Gaby are on opposing sides of the theme park issue, but that doesn't stop them from feeling the enormous attraction that continues to draw them together. Will they find a compromise or are they destined for heartbreak?

I am so glad that MAD ABOUT THE MAN has been reprinted. It would have been a shame if I had never met Gaby, Jacques and I fell in love with the town of Goldstrike, California.Stella Cameron knows how to create a small town that will make you wish that you could live there.

I highly recommend MAD ABOUT THE MAN and know you will love it as much as I do.

1-0 out of 5 stars Agree with others.....
To add on to what the other reviewer said:

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS:

The hero was married to the heroines beautiful, sexy adopted sister, whom she loves like she was her blood sister. The heroine( plain Jane ) has always loved him from a far but he never noticed her while they were growing up.

She was the ugly duckling, the one who was always quiet, the timid one he only thought of as an after thought.... And seems like she was a bit of a doormat to everyone in the family... and still is as an adult.

After the divorce, the hero seeks her out for help.At first she says no, due to her loyalties with her sister but when he starts acting like he was "finally" interested in her, she falls for him.

What occurs after this is totally unbelievable because like the other reviewer said, there was no chemistry btw the H/H.It seemed like the hero was after her just to use her and she falls for him even knowing this because she was just desperate.. kind of pathetic.Add on to the fact, he was her sister's ex ( I find plots like this sickening personally), and he STILL had the hots for the sister, although he says he's mentally indifferent and yet he's body reacts to her, how is that being over someone.

To sum this up, this is a emotionless, hard to believe love story about a doormat timid woman, who's always been in love with her sisters man most of her life, who finally ends up being with him accepting any excuse, regardless of reason.Add on secondary characters who all seemed obsessed with sex, and being more interesting then the H/H.It was very hard for me to read this book without frowning...

I wouldn't recommend this book.

1-0 out of 5 stars All sex and evil, no romance
Setting -- Contemporary Seattle

Plot-- The granddaughter and grandson of business partners turned bitter enemies become friends, then lovers, when both of their businesses are threatened by forces out of their control. She's a jewelery designer living in a co-op apartment and he's a successful real estate developer living on a houseboat. The menace factor escalates as do the steamy sex scenes.

So why only one star?? -- 1. There's no romantic chemistry between Paris and Tobias.2. The rest of the characters in the book are pretty unpleasant.3. There's some really gratuitous rough sex between some of the supporting characters - not fun to read at all (for me).4. Because I came really close to abandoning this book midway through because I simply didn't care for the good guys and didn't want to waste my time reading about the bad guys.

Still, in fairness, somebody out there likes this book. It's on the Romantic Times Top 200 books of the 80's and 90's and was a Reviewer's Choice nominee.Just wouldn't be on my list. ... Read more

The ongoing tales of the Omeg Sub.Really cool futuristic technology that is not too hard to believe.Once you pick it up, it's hard to put down. The white shirts are causing trouble but the crew is handling it withextreme predjudice! If you like action and adventure, you'll love it!

4-0 out of 5 stars A real page turner

I recieved this book as a gift from a relative. I didn't know what to think , so I read a few pages to see if it was interesting. Boy was it ever!

When you think of a post-apocyliptic setting you think, "I've seen it before." But, this book takes that setting and totaly refreshes it.

After a few pages you find yourself wondering what's around the next corner and holding your breath as you flip the page. Will it be the irradiated freak white shirts who are spreading like an infection across the radioactive remains of the earth, or will it be an entire island mysteriously desserted by all it's inhabitents?

After all my praise for this book I have only one bad thing to say. If you get this book you find yourself looking for the rest of the series! ... Read more

Product Description
Compared to such Western giants as Max Brand, Luke Short, and Louis L'Amour, he has been called the New Voice of the Old West. With over one million of his books in print, Cameron Judd powerfully brings to life, as no one else can, the struggles of a generation of Americans on harsh and beautiful frontier.

He was young and green when he rode out from his family's Wyoming ranch, a boy sent to bring his wayward brother home to a dying father. Now, Tucker Corrigan was entering a range war. A beleaguered family, a powerful landowner, and Tucker's brother, Jack-a man seven years on the run-were all at the center of the storm. So was a beautiful young woman. Taking sides, taking chances, and picking up a gun amidst strangers, Tucker Corrigan had put himself between the deadliest of enemies. And somewhere within the violence, the jealousy, and the love, a young man finds out what it will take to ride home again...

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific Story
Having read several Cameron Judd stories I feel as if I can tell you, yes read it, and you will want to read more of Judd's books. This particular book sends an 18 yr. old boy, from a small Wyoming ranch, scouting the Southeastern territory of Montana in search of his older brother to bring him home to see his dying father. During this adventure he meets a wonderfull girl, sees men killed, is nearly killed himself, almost gets hung and finally ---THE END

4-0 out of 5 stars A Fast-Paced Exciting Story
Those familiar with Cameron Judd's work will not be surprised by the welldeveloped characters and intricate plot twists. For anyone who is notacquainted with the author, Corrigan will serve as a good introduction. The book is short (roughly 180 pages) and it's populated bythree-dimensional individuals. With the right mixture of suspense, romance, tragedy, and inspiration, Corrigan leaves you with a good feeling. Anyone who is leery about picking up an unfamiliar author for fear ofencountering gratuitous sex, violence, or profanity, can rest assuredCorrigan--like all of Judd's books that I have read so far--proves that itis very possible to tell an adult story without any of the above.

I wouldalso like to add that I am not your typical western fan. With theexception of Cameron Judd's book, I have probably only read three or fourwesterns.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book - Couldn't Put It Down!
