Extractions: Celebrities This picture was taken five minutes after I recieved an autographed picture of Vanessa Marcil, my favorite actress. As you can see, I was extremely happy! I read an interview about her, and her words helped me realize something that I had been trying to tell myself. I wrote Vanessa a letter to tell her how her words helped me and to thank her. Vanessa's mom, Patricia, sent me a little note, which is attatched to the upper left hand corner of the picture. Patricia reads Vanessa's fan mail because Vanessa is so busy, and Patricia selects a few letters for Vanessa to read. She told me that they both read my letter, and they are both glad that Vanessa's words helped me. I never expected that I would recieve a response let alone an autographed picture. It was a pleasant surprise. I will treasure the autographed picture forever. The picture you see above was taken by my friend Natalie Bell. Maloney What was it like working with Rena on an episode of her show, [the recently shelved] Oh Grow Up? I'd never done a prime-time show before; it was also my sitcom debut. It was fun as well as nerve-wracking. It was a long day, though, so it got to the point where I was so exhausted that by the time I went on I didn't have the energy to be nervous. My character came in at the very end of the show and Rena and I got to have an exchange. It was great. I like the quadrangle on GH, but I can't make up my mind as to who I want to end up with whom: Ned and Alexis? Chloe and Jax? Ned and Chloe? Jax and Alexis? I think that's a good reaction. We're hoping that that's the case with a lot of the viewers. The writers have their long-story projection, but, I feel, do any of us know where we'll be in a year or five years? Let's just go with it and see what develops. The fun part is watching how much Ned and Chloe have in common, as do Jax and Alexis. Some viewers are thinking the right couples are already together. It's like an old-fashioned screwball comedy.

So Adrienne and Justin went with Steve and Kayla Brady to UCLA in search of information to clear Steve. Adrienne became pregnant. Disturbed over Justin's ties to the mob, she considered aborting the baby. Adrienne later miscarried and Justin felt she was the blame. Thier marriage was on the rocks.

We went to two eventsthe Kurth and Taylor concert on Saturday night and the luncheon on Sunday afternoon. Otherwise, we filled our time with GH related activities, watching videos of episodes and interviews and shopping for wardrobe from the show. The following is a description of the two events, along with the few pictures we took. We arrived at the hotel between 7 and 7:30, not because we wanted to be first, but because we had eaten dinner and had nothing else to do but stand in line. I bought the new CD, Nashville, and a photo for Wally Kurth (Ned) and Rena Sofer (ex-Lois) to (hopefully) sign, and we settled in to wait. When we got to enter the room at about 8:30, we found that we were among the first people not in the fan club in line, so we found ourselves on the first row after the fan club members and their guests. We sat by Barry, who does the videotaping at all the events, and lamented the fact that a tall man had seated himself directly in our line of sight. I had hoped to video tape the concert, or at least parts of it, but that would be difficult. Wally and Rena arrived, and things got started at 9:00 with a question and answer period. Rena had apparently had a couple of beers, and Wally was teasing her about it. They talked about their nanny, a relative or friend of Rena's, I believe, and then settled in to talk about the show and their careers. Among the highlights:

Like clockwork, gleaming convertibles brought actors to the Chinese Theater Stage for questions and comments. Julie Pinson seemed to be just where fans wanted her as she rode to the stage seated next to Kin. While she didn't speculate on Eve and Scott's future, she had no doubt about what the future will hold for Lucy and Eve. "Lucy and I will never be friends. Wouldn't that be boring? Yes, she gave me an alibi, but I still don't trust her." Fans seemed to love the match-up of Eve and Scott, which suited Julie just fine. "I'd have to say Kin is the best kisser I've worked with," said Julie, admitting that Kin being there with her may have influenced that decision. Kissing became an issue raised with Wally Kurth as well. One fan called out, "We want Lois back!" referring to Wally's off screen wife, Rena Sofer who played Lois. Wally spoke with pride about Rena's prime time role on Melrose Place, but had to admit that he misses her on GH, "It feels bizarre when I see Rena on Melrose. I see her doing love scenes and I want to say, 'Stop kissing my wife!'" he said with a laugh.
