The first high school in the district to receive the honor, MacArthur was named a Blue Ribbon school last week. Principal Tracie Fraley learned of the award via a letter from the Department of Education. Congratulations on your schools selection as a 2001-2002 Blue Ribbon School, the letter read. You are one of 172 schools nationally recognized. After the rigorous and lengthy selection process, your reward is well-deserved. Extractions: Mark Helm of Texas has prepared a short descendant's chart of his line shown below. This chart represents a beginning search for his ancestors and Mark solicits suggestions for the extension of his line into earlier Helm lines in Eastern and maybe Mid-Western sites. Very likely, the family migrated from the East as the frontier moved westwards; so, his ancestors probably took the same paths West as did thousands of others, with stop-overs along the way. Hopefully, some of his line set down roots along the way, which will permit a trace, and the finding of an origin. One of our theories is to link his line to the family of Leonard Helm of Frederick County, VA. Some families from that line are known to have migrated westwards from Frederick County, VA. Mark's focus in Texas is on Littleton Helm (1797-1868) as the first of his line in Texas. His near ancestor, Littleton Helm, may have been connected with South Carolina before going West. Assuming a Littleton connection, that line may have originated with Sir Edward Littleton, of Henley, Shropshire,
Tiffany's First Adventure: Chapter 3 tiffany's First Adventure. Chapter Three. The neutral zone seemed innocuous enough. Thehelm was taking an inordinate amount of time to respond to command. http://www.geocities.com/tiffmacintosh/tiff3.html
Extractions: The neutral zone seemed innocuous enough. Just another empty region of space. It could have been any old sector, had it not been for the warbirds uncloaking. On the screen, they wavered greens and blues as they became increasingly solid and roared up to a sufficiently intimidating distance to stop. Worf was impatient to sound red alert. He stared hard at Picard, waiting for a sign, any sign, and frustratingly getting nothing. "Captain, should we raise shields?" "What is the status of the warbirds?" "Shields down. Weapons systems on stand-by." "Maintain our status. No shields, no weapons. Open a channel." "Open, Sir," Worf said with thinly masked disappointment. "This is Captain Picard of the Enterprise" But Picard was driven to silence as violent interference on the screen was accompanied by interference over the channel. Picard looked back to Worf, who was working on it to no apparent avail. The channel whined and hissed as the images on the screen blinked into static and then back. To hear the Romulan com voice, you wouldn't have known that anything was amiss. They talked right through the interference, never breaking their stride. There was something about addressing us, "Enterprise," and about holding for positive identification. Picard and Riker exchanged alook. "Positive identification," Riker repeated "They can't scan us?"
