Extractions: Constance Tower's Biography Information Constance Towers debuted in 1997 as Helena Cassadine. This is one of Connie's first "villian" roles, and not only does she enjoy it, she excels at being "mean"! Being the matriarch of the Cassadine family is difficult, but as we all know, no one does it better than Ms Towers. Constance was born in Whitefish, Montana, and had dreams as a child of being an operatic star. These aspirations led her to actually turn down a contract from Paramount Pictures at age eleven. "Here I was, this scrawny little girl who sang...and the Paramount executives made an offer. Though I could have killed myself ten years later for turning down the contract, at the time I wanted no part of it." When her family moved to New York, Constance attended both the Juilliard School of Music and the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts. Her first professional role was in a summer stock production of "Carousel," which inspired her to forget her operatic aspirations and pursue a career in musical theater. She is now a respected veteran of the Broadway stage who is remembered most for her starring role as Mrs. Anna in the 1978 revival of "The King and I," opposite Yul Brynner. Ms. Towers' other stage appearances include "The Sound of Music," "Kiss Me Kate," "42nd Street," "Oklahoma!," "Camelot" and "Mame." She has been honored for her work on stage on many occasions. She is a recipient of the New York Critic's Outer Circle Award for Excellence in Theater, the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts Achievement Award, and the Best Musical Actress of 1974 Award by the New Jersey Drama Critics Association. In 2002, she was honored by the dePaul Universtity of Performing Arts.

Extractions: The First Ladies of Capitol: Carolyn Jones Myrna Clegg skulks through the corridors of power looking for a chink here, a tear there, a weak point wherever she can find it. For Myrna, building her own spheres of influence means destroying someone - or something - along the way. Is the lady immoral? Is she, perhaps, amoral? Is she an unsavory villain; evil, singularly sinister and unworthy of salvation? Yes on all counts? " Definitely not, " says Carolyn Jones, the striking blonde actress who plays the menacing Myrna on CBS's newest soap "Capitol." Ms. Jones (who has sometimes been called the thinking person's actress because her performances not only appeal to the emotions but leave one feeling intellectually satisfied as well) is starring in her first soap opera. Her distinguished career has included theater, movies (she won an Oscar nomination in the Paddy Chayefesky film "The Bachelor Party") and television. Carolyn earned kudos for her work in such prestigious productions as "Playhouse 90" and then found viewer "immortality," thanks to her role as Morticia in "The Addams Family."

Page will open in a new window! THE AWAKENING OF STAVROS! Well, considering the fact that I still believe that Helena purposely blew up our Faison, it pains me to admit she's my favorite female character on General Hospital! ;-) Besides being a wonderful actress, I think Ms. Towers has shown she is very appreciative of her fans. I hope you will visit Constance Towers Gavin's Official Homepage which is managed by Karen, who does an excellent job. Update - August 11, 2002 - Ms. Towers' site has a new URL, so be sure to update your bookmarks! I wrote a note to Constance Towers who portrays Helena Cassadine on General Hospital, telling her how much I enjoyed her acting. In my note to Miss Towers, I mentioned that I was also a fan of Anders Hove, particularly for his role of Cesar Faison on General Hospital. I told Miss Towers that I was rather upset when Helena supposedly blew Faison to smithereens. On February 4, 2001 I received a note back from Constance Towers and I wanted to share what she wrote about Faison and Anders Hove with all of you.

Extractions: Character Profiles This site began with the idea that I wanted to be able to see my favorite actors in good roles or in some cases in any roles at all. From there I said, if I were writing a story what would I do, and as they say the rest is 'my-story.' Okay so that wasn't that funny; but the idea is that I want others to enjoy my favorite actors in much the way that I do. Hopefully if you read Serenity each week, then you'll not only insist on seeing live action versions of the actors on television and in film but you'll get a fun and interesting story to boot. The pictures and acting credit information and links to other websites are intended for informational purposes only. They are not meant to imply and you should not infer any association between this site and anyone of the persons identified. As for this page, I'm a self-taught Flash newbie, so I hope it works on your computer, as with all things Serenity, it is optimized for use on my computer. By the way if you don't have the Flash 4 plug-in or whatever it is Explorer uses for Flash, you'll need to use the old Characters and actor pages. Sorry.
