This leads us to believe that labour abuses are the norm in your suppliers' factories and not isolated incidents as Nike has frequently suggested to the media." Among these reports are the following: Par Montinhee factory, Thailand. 11/99 report, indicating bad factory roofing — ceiling pieces fall, water leaks, inadequate toilet facilities, denial of health benefits despite automatic deductions of fees from workers' pay, intense production pressure — "Overall physical exhaustion from this system of production has also caused some workers to actually cough up or vomit blood while they work" — forced overtime work.

Extractions: This is our beautiful daughter Kristina (aka Nener). She has come to love the game of showing dogs. Kristina and N'Sync won Best Junior Handler at the 2002 Golden Gate Akita Club Specialty, photo above. Her first show dog was "Costner" Dream Hi's For the Love of the Game. Kristina and "Costner" took a Group 1 at the Oregon show fun match. "Costner" out grew Kristina and we acquired a smaller breed for her to show. She now shows a Sheltie named "Nike" Caitlin's Walk-In On Air. With lot's of help from Nike's breeder, Kathy, we are learning how to groom this little Sheltie girl. Once Kristina grows and can easily handle the Akitas again she be back with an Akita. At Kristina's first Junior Showmanship competition she won her class and the second show she took 2nd out of a big class of young handlers. She is watching and learning so be on the lookout for this special little woman. Kristina has completed her necessary wins in Novice Junior and is now in Open competition. She recently won first over 15 other Juniors and the next day (first day moved up to Open Juniors) she won 3rd out of 22. We are so proud of our girl. The addition of a few new skills and a commitment to playing aggressive, forward-moving tennis will allow Kristina to enjoy a successful junior season.
