The differences in their prices have now grown to almost 50%, in most cases. But, they are both still very reasonably priced. The first class busses have on-board movies, reclinging seats, air conditioning and bathrooms. The second class busses are less well equipped and make many more stops. My overnight stays were in "bargain basement" establishments ranging from 90 NP (New Peso) to 180 NP. The entrance prices to most of the ruins was 22 NP to 30 NP. Uxmal was the highest at 80 NP. Entry is free on Sundays. Overall, I would estimate my travel, lodging and entry expenses to be approximately $200.

Where On The Moon Is Jack Schmitt's Hammer? First, look at AS17143-21938 to see gene cernan's first image after the hammerthrow (sorry, there are no images of Schmitt actually in mid throw, except http://pirlwww.lpl.arizona.edu/~jscotti/a17hammer.html
Extractions: One of the last things that Harrison H. "Jack" Schmitt did while on the surface of the moon at the end of the last lunar EVA of the Apollo program was to throw their one and only Geology hammer off into the distance. Where did the only Geology Hammer ever to be carried on the moon by a professional Geologist actually end up? (Apologies in advance - most of these images are a bit on the large side and are slow loading over even faster modem lines.... Also, click on your browsers's "Back" button after viewing the images to return to this document.) Here is an image from the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal showing Jack Schmitt most likely right after throwing his hammer off in the general direction of the ALSEP site to the west of the LM. Luckily, this image is found just after the end of a sequence of images that tell us the story of the flight of his hammer. Here is an exerpt from the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal of the discussion surrounding the hammer throw: Schmitt: Let me have your camera (to put in the ETB). Go ahead (and talk). (Noticing that Gene is about to throw the hammer) Oh, the poor little...Let me throw the hammer.

Extractions: 9.78 seconds By Jeffrey M. O'Brien Fastest Man on Earth: Tim Montgomery It was a world record kind of day in Paris. The final race of the 2002 season, a whisper of a tailwind. Years of weight training, testing shoes and suits, poring over computer models, and running, running, running, all funneled down to 100 meters. Tim Montgomery saw only what was in front of him. He heard nothing. Silence. Focus. Pop. The gun sounded and he exploded off the start, sprinting the way the rest of us breathe. Rhythmic. Automatic. He leeeeaned into the tape, and 9.78 seconds after he started, it was over. He'd set a new benchmark by .01 second - about the time it takes for a bullet to leave a gun barrel. His secret? Start young. The 28-year-old grew up cutting his parents' 7-acre South Carolina lawn - with a push mower. It strengthened his legs. "By the time I finished one side," he says, "the other side would already be growing." Fastest Radio-Controlled Car: RC 10L30 At rest, Cliff Lett's "other car" is just a 3-inch-high molded plastic toy. At 111 mph, it's a blur. As head designer at Team Associated, the top manufacturer of radio-controlled vehicles, Lett spent just five days modifying a standard RC10 L3 to nearly double the world record in 2001s. The car features a gear drive, a two-turn brushless motor with 24 sub-C NiCad batteries, and hydraulic shocks - all packed into a one-tenth scale carbon-fiber chassis. Lett's biggest design challenge: keeping the tires on the rims at 15,000 rpm. Now Lett thinks he can hit 130 mph. "You need 1 horsepower to go 100 mph, 2 horsepower to go 110," he says. "It's all about power, and punching a smaller hole in the air."
