Good Reference for Randolph County, WV
This is a good reference book for Randolph County, WV.Lots of information, and many biographies.Some biographies are more extensive than others, but almost all of them have very specific genealogy information which would be very helpful to anyone researching their family tree in this are of the country.

Typical Hu Maxwell work
This book as all others written by Maxwell is very complete. He also wrote History of Tucker County, which I have read. I am researching a book about my forefathers in these counties and find very useful information in them, about characters and happenings of the times. Mr. Maxwell obviously had to do tons of research for these books and for the times they were produced are very complete.

Book was in new condition, arrived promptly, well packed, what can I say?what's to complain.I would highly recommend this vendor based on my experience.

Ok, but a little dull
Well researched, but im sorry to say that the book was a little dull, lots of talk of fire recreation.I would have like to read more about the Shelly Michael, never really got what made her the person she is...Anyway, not terrible, but not a real fast mover.

A firey good read
I usually stay away from St. Martin's crime books because they are generally poorly written with plots that are underdeveloped and boring.However, this is an exception.I saw this story on "Snapped" and wanted to learn more.The author gets all the goods on this killer nurse (sort of reminiscent of the Melanie Mcguire story for all you real crime buffs).Is seems a similar personality of woman commits these crimes.They feel they are better than everyone, especially the men lucky enough to marry them.The feel they deserve to move up their station in life regardless of who it hurts...usually the father of their children!By the way, don't try and look up "Michelle Micheals" on an image search.Yikes.Loved the book.

Good book, better than most of the new true crime. Compelling story and good writing.

Fascinating true crime
I enjoyed this book very much. One of the best true crime books I've read. The book was well written and difficult to put down. I found the excellent investigative work of the police and fire officials very interesting and suspenseful. Shelly Michael is a true sociopath. It is almost unbelievable that she would have been drawn to nursing as a profession. It is frightening that someone with no conscience would be working with pediatric patients.The author provides an excellent history of the main characters and offers an explanation as to why Shelly Michael would have killed her husband.When you finish reading this book you won't have any question of the guilt of Shelly Michael. ... Schools need this
This wonderful book reminds us all that there was life before GPS, and people really just had to stumble around before they got their geography right. There just wasn't the tech. Most important, that affected history, and critical political thinking of the times. Can you imagine Thomas Jeffersons guess about what was really the Louisianna Purchase? Just how big was America?

Nice maps, but could use more details....
This is a great collection of selected maps from history -- my favorite is the one of a skinny North America, with the Pacific Ocean right on the other side of the Appalachains.The title is somewhat misleading, since the book is mostly a compilation of the maps that were published well before the Lewis and Clark expedition.The descriptions of each map are brief, and the author often references other maps that aren't included in the book; I find myself really wanting to see one depiction of the world or another that's described but not presented.Overall this is a pretty cool book, though, especially if you've never seen some of these old maps. ...
