If you love theatre history this book is a must!The history of the Walnut is remarkable.Nearly every great actor of the 19th and 20th centuries appeared there.Many of the greatest American plays premiered there.The research to create this amazing history must have taken years.How great that America's oldest theatre now has a fully documented history. Its a great work and I highly suggest you pick up a copy. Also treat yourself and order the pictorial history book titled Walnut Street Theatre from Amazon. George Speaight wrote several books. Among them were:THE HISTORY OF THEENGLISH PUPPET THEATER. Another one: THE HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH TOYTHEATER.
