Product Description
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.
Medical theory and practice of the 1700s developed rapidly, as is evidenced by the extensive collection, which includes descriptions of diseases, their conditions, and treatments. Books on science and technology, agriculture, military technology, natural philosophy, even cookbooks, are all contained here.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
The book is basic in content and has an overall flakey/new age tone.It reads like a sales pitch for the author's pond installations business. Moreover the title has nothing to do with "natural" ponds. It just offers a 'different'(sorta) outlook in one area--which is 'use rocks on the bottom of the pond, young man'.I'm building a much larger pond than I have now, but I certainly won't decide about the pond substrate one way or another based upon this book.

I was looking for information on how to create a truly natural pond--i.e.,an ecosystem that is self-sustaining over the long haul---with minimal energy input. This book tells you how to keep goldfish and koi--that's not an ecosystem--it's an aquarium---hardly anything natural, unless you're trying to recreate a habitat you'd find in a Chinese garden. Not my idea of an 'ecosystem'. If I could have given the book zero stars I would have done so. Don't waste your money!!!!! It's not even worth the effort to throw away, sad to say.(Tell us how you really feel, Steve.)

5-0 out of 5 stars great book
Book was in a-one condition and full of the information I needed. Delivery was prompt and the price was right.

2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
The book has great pictures but no real detail about how to build ponds or waterfalls. How disappointed we were when we received the book.We will look for other books but will not purchase them online. We need to be able to see what is inside the cover.

3-0 out of 5 stars There are better choices
In my opinion, this book is a very superficial overview of pond construction.A far better choice is "Ortho's All About Building Waterfalls, Ponds, and Streams", for the same price [or slightly cheaper]."Ortho's" covers the topic much more thoroughly than this "complete guide".

5-0 out of 5 stars Good fundamentals.
Excellent fundamental instructions for ponds and waterfalls. If you are doing a stream also, you might want to consult another title or two on the same subject. You will also need some more education on plants for your pond. But for basic pond and waterfall, this is the best I have read.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only pictures
If you are a beginer in pond building and you need everything explained to details, do not buy this book. I bought it and it's just not good. You can read it under a hour and you'll see only pictures with nothing on them. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Vastly overpriced for the info!
This small book touting Aquascape Lifestyles priced at over $100 is little more than a Sunset How to Book and is actually the size of a magazine (93 total pages). Although there is some good information, that information can be found at a fraction of the cost with other new and used books that are out there. So, unless the price plummets to under $20 don't even consider buying this book.
