This Industry Risk Ratings report from IBISWorld evaluates the inherent risks associated with the Recreational Parks and Gardens in Australia industry. Industry Risk is assumed to be 'the difficulty, or otherwise, of the business operating environment'.

The report looks at the operational risk associated with this industry. Three types of risk are recognized in our analysis. These are: risk arising from within the industry itself (structural risk), risks arising from the expected future performance of the industry (growth risk) and risk arising from forces external to the industry (external sensitivity risk).

The Structural Risk chapter looks at risk arising from within the industry itself and provides a detailed discussion of the industrys level of exposure to seven key indicators.These key indicators are Barriers to Entry, Competition, Industry Exports, Industry Imports, Level of Assistance, Life Cycle Stage and Volatility of Industry.The Overall Structural Risk Score is a weighted aggregation of these seven key indicators.Each of the key indicators is discussed in detail in this section.

Growth Risk

The Growth Risk chapter looks at risks arising from the expected future performance of the industry. The Overall Growth Risk Score is determined by amalgamating the scores for Recent Industry Growth and Forecast Industry Growth. Detailed analysis is provided discussing the reasons for the growth scores of both.

Sensitivity Risk

The Sensitivity Risk chapter looks at risks arising from forces (sensitivities) external to the industry. The Overall External Sensitivity Risk Score is determined by identifying the most significant (up to 6) external factors and weighting them to represent how significant each sensitivity is to the performance of the industry.Examples of External Sensitivities are Exchange Rates, Interest Rates, Commodity Prices and Government Regulations. There is also a detailed analysis of the affect each of the sensitivities has on the industry, including charts and data tables where appropriate.

Classic and great reference book

Great "Catalogue" of American Log Construction
The golden era of handcrafted log construction was 1920's and 30's, and this wonderful book details, in project after project, the structures that had been built in America's National and State parks during that time. Cabins, lodges, visitor centers, even bridges, drinking fountains, fire pits, outhouses, and log benches-they all get photos, drawings, and commentary in this encyclopedic work.

Albert H. Good wrote several books as Architectural Consultant for the National Park Service, and 3 of them are bound into one huge book here--it is the size of a library dictionary. More than 600 pages, and countless photos and drawings, the publisher used high quality paper and library binding. It feels like an expensive book!

For me, the drawings are the gems. B&W photos must be difficult to scan and reproduce from the original, and some of the photos in this book, while generally very good, have suffered just a little. But this is nit picking.

This book is a treasurehouse of handcrafted stone and log structures--these were craftsmen working at the peak of their abilities. And the designs are superb-they have the human scale, the warmth, and the charm that current architects could learn from. Great log homes don't need to be 4000 square feet, or have 20-foot ceilings. This book is proof of that.

Save up and buy this book. Use it when designing your own log home or cabin. Share it with friends.I have been building log homes, and writing about log home construction, for 23 years and each time I browse this book I learn something new.

This is a beautiful book and an excellent reference.It is a reprint of the three volume set published in 1938."Patterns From the Golden Age" is a cheaper reprint of the same thing - but the quality of the photos in this version is well worth the extra money.

Oregon State Parks are great!
We recently returned from a vacation in Oregon and found the book on Oregon State Parks very helpful.Oregon uses lottery money to build new parks, refurbish old parks, build new playgrounds in the parks and provide full hookups at a minimal cost.

RV Road Buddy
This has helped tremendously charting our cross-country trip.The format lacks a little; ie. the addresses of the RV campgounds are not included.But, along with google maps as a companion it works out just fine.Even though it is the 2008 issue we don't think much would change.The price is right!

This directory is HUGE, and filled with adds but I can't imagine setting off on a long trip without it. Calling ahead, or reserving a spot online is such a good idea when you are driving or pulling a large trailer. It really pays to have an idea of what you are getting into before you get there. Disappointed
I ordered this book, but was immediately surprised at two things when it arrived: 1) the format is larger than I'd hoped for. 2) It's black and white, with a section of color photos in the center that are often vague about locations.
I've been to 2 of the locations that were listed, and yes, the details are accurate. However, I was hoping for more: what to do in the area for day trips, and color photos of each park for example. Those was lacking.

This book is well laid out with many photos.There is a big fold out map included of all the Texas State Parks.The parks presented are grouped according to their regional location.Desriptions of the types of campsites, amenities and contact information is provided.It's a basic, easy to read, Texas State Park reference book.
