3-0 out of 5 stars Life after????
My book club read this book and it was favorably reviewed. It spurred a lot of conversation about the after-life.Interesting read although I thought the writing was marginal.Good food for thought.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is an amazing book!
If you want to curl up in bed and pick up a book that you can't put down, I would strongly suggest picking up a copy of Jennie's Reprisal.I managed to read this book during a night while all my kids and spouse lay sleeping. The next morning I was groggy for sure but we all loved hearing the best parts of the story!I would recommend another book by Carol Bennett being offered in the future!

1-0 out of 5 stars Jennie's Reprisal - Don't Read this Book!
Sadly, this book was a complete disappointment.Based on the ratings, I thought it would be a great read.Unfortunately, it was very hard to follow. One minute we are in one century, the next in another.Very hard to follow, very poorly written.Don't waste your time or money.

5-0 out of 5 stars We Love Jennie's Reprisal !!!
The gals at "Hair It Is" love Jennie's Reprisal.Jennie Gravatt's journey from Atlantis to Eternity has a compelling realness. And facts regarding our town of Ashtabula, presented during Jennie's lifetime in the early 1920s, made the story even more real to us.This is truly a great book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Creative and Extremely Sensual
The fascinating premise of Jennie's Reprisal held my interest from start to finish.  I really became involved with Jennie in all of her manifestations.  Movement back and forth, from the present time to the distant past, evoked feelings of timelessness.  Scenes are creative and extremely sensual.  A beautifully inspiring book that gives hope for the future! ... Product Description
Monsters. Real or imagined, literal or metaphorical, they have exerted a dread fascination on the human mind for many centuries. They attract and repel us, intrigue and terrify us, and in the process reveal something deeply important about the darker recesses of our collective psyche.
Stephen Asma's On Monsters is a wide-ranging cultural and conceptual history of monsters--how they have evolved over time, what functions they have served for us, and what shapes they are likely to take in the future. Asma begins with a letter from Alexander the Great in 326 B.C. detailing an encounter in India with an "enormous beast--larger than an elephantthree ominous horns on its forehead." From there the monsters come fast and furious--Behemoth and Leviathan, Gog and Magog, the leopard-bear-lion beast of Revelation, Satan and his demons, Grendel and Frankenstein, circus freaks and headless children, right up to the serial killers and terrorists of today and the post-human cyborgs of tomorrow. Monsters embody our deepest anxieties and vulnerabilities, Asma argues, but they also symbolize the mysterious and incoherent territory just beyond the safe enclosures of rational thought. Exploring philosophical treatises, theological tracts, newspapers, pamphlets, films, scientific notebooks, and novels, Asma unpacks traditional monster stories for the clues they offer about the inner logic of an era's fears and fascinations. In doing so, he illuminates the many ways monsters have become repositories for those human qualities that must be repudiated, externalized, and defeated.
Asma suggests that how we handle monsters reflects how we handle uncertainty, ambiguity, insecurity. And in a world that is daily becoming less secure and more ambiguous, he shows how we might learn to better live with monsters--and thereby avoid becoming one.Amazon.com Review

5-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating
"On Monsters" is written in a conversational style that is easy and pleasant to follow.Facts and ideas are arranged in logical ways that build on each other so as the reader accumulates the information, he or she is also zooming along with that unique pleasure that comes from reading a book that truly engages one's mind.I never felt I was reading a textbook, but each paragraph made me hungry for the next in such a way that I consumed the book and finished with a great sigh of satisfaction.I have read other books on "monsters", but this one, while building from a familiar starting place, added insights and new information peppered throughout enough to add to my knowledge and entertain me for a couple of nights.I enjoyed it so much I am going to read the Author's other books.Who can resist the title, "The Gods Drink Whiskey: Stumbling Toward Enlightenment in the Land of the Tattered Buddha"?That's the next one for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Superior Psychocultural History
Asma's book is valuable from many perspectives, but especially so with regards to the psychology of "monsterology." His comments about Freud's theory of the Uncanny, the familiar-foreign dichotomy that evokes curiosity, trepidation and fear, is an example of Asma's observations about the ambiguous nature of terror. Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman scare us because they are like us but at the same time not us, a near-familiar limbo that confuses and disorients. Similarly, he observes that CGI cartoon figures that are humanoid but clearly not human can entertain us, until the imagery enters a murky nether region of human-likeness imagery, where the distinction between a real human and a faux computer duplicate is difficult to make. Again, the "near-not near" aspect creeps us out in the same manner as the once-human monsters of lore did with their similarities to us. The change in attitude towards monsters, from biological anomalies to moral degenerates, reflects the cultural attitudes of a society where the secular world's judgements outweigh those of the religious. To be sure, the medieval church appropriated monsters for instructional as well as terrorizing purposes; the Devil, of course, was their favorite pew-filling bogeyman, whilewitches, Jews and Muslims also made credible near-not near monsters. But with the wane of this influence, "enlightened" civilization created a whole new spectrum of monsters. Interestingly, the first Cold War sci fi flicks leaned heavily on the humanoid monster as its principle scaremonger. "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" personified the Uncanny aspects of like-not like terror with is podpeople quasi-duplicates, a not so subtle metaphor for America's Red Scare hysteria over commie monsters disguised as red blooded Americans.
Asma's book is a must read for anyone interested in how human psychology, culture and religion interact synergistically to create imageries of terror.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hopeful Monsters
As a philosophy professor with a penchant for the bizarre, Stephen T. Asma is well placed to produce such a book. As a former religion professor sharing this avocation, I eagerly read this monograph, frequently recording my comments on my blog. Monsters were constant companions of my childhood; I spent lazy days and sleepless nights both curious and fearful of these imaginary creatures.

A scholarly treatment of a subject generally neglected by academia, Asma's book is a worthwhile introductory study of monsters. In many ways, the book is a masterful treatment of the field from several angles, working through a roughly chronological treatment of the changing faces of the monstrous. Although monsters first appear with the earliest civilizations, they have persisted even in the strong light of scientific thinking and rationalism. As we comprehend our world, the monsters appear in deeper and darker corners, in the very folds of our throbbing gray matter, in the microbial world that floats invisibly around us, and in the smiling beneficence of technology. At many points in his historical presentation Asma is difficult to read - not because of his writing, but because human brutality and emotional distancing have made for the most horrific of real-life monsters he cites.

Particularly useful in Asma's treatment of the subject is his contention that monsters still have a place in our society. The word itself retains its utility in describing human, all-too-inhuman treatment of others. Unfortunately, the motivation for such treatment can often be traced to bad religious education. We may not be so fearful of the werewolf or the (supernatural) vampire, but we still fear those who treat others without empathy or human concern.

My only critique of this book is that the early chapters, those dealing with ancient monsters, might have been a bit more in depth. Readers wanting a general overview of the origins of monsters will be satisfied, but those who are seeking an in-depth exploration in their literary origins may be left a little hungry.

5-0 out of 5 stars On Monsters: An Unnatural History of Our Worst Fears
Quick--think of the last time you were truly and irrationally terrified.I bet you were a kid, right? And I bet the thing you were scared of then probably wouldn't scare you now. When you stop being a kid, you're supposed to stop being afraid of monsters. But just because you're an adult doesn't mean the monsters all disappear.

Bogeymen and things that go bump in the night are only part of what Stephen T. Asma covers in his excellent book, //On Monsters: An Unnatural History of Our Worst Fears//.Cyclopes and golems get their own chapters, but then so does Medea, star of her own Euripidean tragedy. You might remember her as the mythical monster who killed her own children to exact revenge on their adulterous father.

In the introduction, Asma writes, "If we find monsters in our world, it is sometimes because they are really there, and sometimes because we have brought them with us."That sentence easily sums up the appeal of //On Monsters//.Nearly all of the creatures mankind has encountered, manifested, or simply made up are here, and the scariest ones don't look all that different from us when the lights come on.

5-0 out of 5 stars What is a Monster?
On Monsters: An Unnatural History of Our Worst Fears by Stephen Asma attempts to answer this question from a wide range of fascinating perspectives.

Asma begins with the origin of the word monster: "Monster derives from the Latin word monstrum, which in turn derives from the root monere (to warn). To be a monser is to be an omen."From there, Asma explores symbolic and literal monsters, the perception of monsters throughout history to the present day as well as their role in the future.

Asma's overall definition of what has been perceived as monsters is broad, encompassing mythological ones such as griffins and manticores to serial killers like John Wayne Gacy.Asma even delves into horror movies or "torture porn," such as Hostel.

The Loch Ness Monster is mentioned briefly a couple of times.Bigfoot doesn't make an appearance at all. This isn't that kind of book.

Instead, Asma explores all the facets and connotations of the monstrous:

As detailed in the ancient histories of Pliny and Herodotus
-Greek mythology
-as archetypes
-Modern-day criminal monsters
-Future monsters
-literary monsters such as Grendel and Frankenstein's creature
-Biblical monsters
-psychological
-biological: mutants
-historical
-cultural
-medical
-scientific

In chronicling the role of monsters throughout history, Asma lists some idiotic, once widely-held beliefs. One of the more outrageous ones (at least from a modern-day, enlightened point of view) is that in the middle ages, it was thought that the following caused a mother to give birth to a monster [meaning a mutant or freak]:
Too great a quantity of seed
Too little quantity
The imagination
the narrowness or smallness of the womb
the indecent posture of the mother, as when, being pregnant, she has sat too long with her legs crossed, or pressed against her womb

Surprisingly, rather than assembling a menagerie of fearsome and fantastic creatures, Asma gathers human monstrosities, such as psychopaths. The demonization of "the other" in society (other races, religions, cultures), he argues, is a form of monster-making.

Given the many and varied examples of monsters throughout history, Asma concludes that there isn't "one compelling definition of monster"; however, most monsters share the same characteristics:

"Monsters cannot be reasoned with.Monsters are generally ugly and inspire horror.Monsters are unnatural.Monsters are overwhelmingly powerful.Monsters are evil.Monsters are misunderstood.Monsters cannot be understood...They reflect the fears of specific eras. But they also reflect more universal human anxieties and cognitive tendencies, the stuff that gives us human solidarity...." ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Paints a clearer picture.
This book will only work for you if you believe in telepathy and channeling. It paints a clearer picture of the abduction phenomenon. It helped me to get a feel for how the Zeta's think and therefore why they behave the way they do. Lyssa channels different kinds of ET's; Zeta-Reticuli, Hybrid, Pleadian and others. As I do believe in telepathy and channeling, I found this book to be the most informative of all the books I have read so far on the ET phenomenon, because the information comes from the horses mouth, so to speak.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stunning read
This is one of those few books that I sat down to read, and I literally couldn't get up until it was finished. I think I completed it in two sessions.

This book is captivating, well written, and comes from the heart.

If you are into the idea of E.T.s and the abduction phenomena, then this is a MUST READ!

4-0 out of 5 stars good material, but not very credible
The questions posed during sessions are interesting and information is really good if you allow yourself to belive. However, this is a channeled material and therefore cannot be trusted. I'm not saying it is a deception and they got it wrong, it may well turn out to be correct in the end, but it may turn out to be false as well. Some researchers (Imbrogno) belive that more than 90% of channelings are misinfo coming from otherwordly tricksters.
One more thing that I found especially annoying is that in several occasions the alien source during channeling refers to "previous chapter" as if the book was already there with "previous chapters" to refer to. I don't understand, do the authors belive the readers are idiots?

5-0 out of 5 stars e pluribus unum
The primary focus of _Visitors From Within_ is an analysis of the Zeta Reticuli species (my absolute favorite of all our ET friends), which is probably the best-known race in UFO "abduction" cases. But a nice inclusion is how they relate to we humans.

The Zetas' planet, Apex, was much like present day Earth. It was also an effort to include both positive and negative energies in an attempt to create a balance. Theirs was a planet rules by hatred & warfare. Unfortunately, it was much more pronounced and they ended up destroying their planet. Centuries before this, they decided to start a colony beneath their planet surface, and once there they used their knowlege of genetics and cloning to "X" out emotions--naively believing that to be the core of their past mistakes. They also joined themselves into a single collective mind to eliminate the chance of individual mistakes again.

Their hopes that the opposite extreme was any better were quickly dashed, and now they're here trying to fix that. We humans re-present their past as well as their future. We are closest to them, genetically, which is why they come to us instead of going to the Lyrans, Sirians, Pleiadians, etc. to get what they need from our DNA to fix their error. There's another more intricate reason.

Unfortunately, we are not all too pleased to greet them, since they represent the opposite of us and all we hold dear. We represent not only the opposite of everything they have become over the last few hundred thousand years, but also a reminder their past; so they're equally--if not MORE--afraid of what we are. However, this book fails to clearly explain how they can be both emotionless and 'afraid' of us. Not a major fault, just something I'm very curious about.

The chapter devoted to the hybrid projects is my favorite. It is both saddening to read about the physical deterioration of the first generations of hybrids, as well as uplifting to read of their incredible bravery. There is also a chapter discussing the "abductions" of prisoners and mental patients, which is something no other ET book I've read touches upon.

The underlying question this book poses: Will we end up consumed by our hatred and extreme individuality and end up destroying ourselves as the Zetas once did to their race, or will Zetas and Terrans overcome our fears, work together, and one day emerge side by side; a beautiful balance--an inspiration to all life in the universe that even extreme opposites can become a unified coalition? It's in our hands.

5-0 out of 5 stars The abduction phenomena explained from a larger context.
In my opinion, together with 'The Prism of Lyra' and 'Preparing for Contact' (all from Royal-Priest), this book concludes the basic trilogy for anyone who wants to know more about the abduction phenomena specifically, and E.T. contact in general. As a matter of fact, the abductions are just a symptom of a much more fundamental interaction between the Zetas and the Human race, and both will benefit tremendously from it. These books explain the mechanics, the why and the how, of extraterrestrial contact. Forget the fear and the hype, and go right to the facts: it will enlighten you and inspire you, for these books present a vision of intergalactic cooperation, as well as personal and planetary evolution. ... Product Description
At one point in her agony poor Jennifer, perched upon her rock in the middle of nowhere wonders, "Who would be interested in the sour heart song of an insecure writer who might or might not be from another planet, advanced beyond Earth's brain waves?"

Who? Well me for one, and getting more involved with each segment.

But that is Linda Shelnutt's specialty. Her descriptions, whether of sunbeams slicing through the curtains, or that delightful long dark hair brushed from Jennifer's face by the zephyrs of her rocky hideaway, put you right there with ALL your senses. I swear I'm a bit more tanned every time I spend a day with Jennifer on her solitary perch... thirsty too. It's DRY out there.

Now some people might be offended by this masterful "Build-A-Religion Erector set", but relax. Linda makes it very clear she is playing in a fantasy sandbox... combining what apparently are autobiographical details from her life with the many and fascinating 'what-if's' of a Way Of Living that if adopted would bring Heaven to Earth, and replace suffering with joy.
It's a fantasy all right... a giant, fulsome drumstick that benevolent, caring, creative minds of the rare caliber of this gifted writer enjoy chewing on.

And yet through the medium of fantasy... faction... or Theo-Fi cometh Truth... even unto the Gentiles... as with this earthy bit of Fremont County emotional common sense:

>>>>>
“How hard I have to work to keep myself barely on the surface of being happy, when all I really need is a hug from the right man. I wish he were here right now. I'd love to play with him climbing on this hillside...

"Just one touch gives so much pleasure when you're in love."
Thinking about playing with him made her smile.
<<<<<

I'm finding all this self-talk increasingly persuasive and addictive... but for the FUN of being persuaded and being addicted. Over and above that simple self-indulgence, however, is some pretty eloquently stated wisdom. For example, in Part Four [from the Amazon Shorts serialized edition of this book] some lordly universal powers are talking to Earth... and make this comment:

"You have CONDEMNED your cities, machines, architectural accomplishments.

“YOU'VE CONDEMNED THE WHOLE INDUSTRIAL AGE, the sophistication of your varied cultures and games to play, outlawing all the ways of life developed in your history except living in simple, non creative, socialistic, bee hive communities...

BECAUSE YOU WERE AFRAID OF POLLUTION and POVERTY?"

Now is that an on-the-mark commentary of today's hazy-gray social and regulatory hang-ups in this country or what? Brilliantly expressed.

In her fascinating treatise The Price of Black Diamonds she [Linda Shelnutt] discusses in persuasive detail the sapping of America's creative, productive spirit by regulatory bureaucratic drones increasing their self-importance by suffocating the people who are ACCOMPLISHING things.

What makes this all the more palatable is the fact that the reader is partaking of this intellectual, soulful nourishment while hoping a cute little vixen is going to find her True Mate before being consumed with self-doubt or destroyed by creditors.

Few writers could envision a viable literary fabric wrought from such diverse threads. Within this select group, only a very few could pull it off. In Morning Comes Linda Shelnutt establishes herself at the forefront of this literary elite.

I know this would be difficult to appreciate until you've read the book, but for all my skepticism about ANY philosophical construct that sees a united humanity enjoying peace on Earth, something wonderful is taking place: Linda Shelnutt's incomparable use of words to create mood are carrying me with her... directly INTO the mood as contrasted with merely appreciating it.

Above are clippings from reviews of MORNING COMES by John W. Cassell, author of eight novels of the American Counterculture of the late 1960s-early1970s. Cassell retired in 2006 after a 25 year law enforcement career. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ONE DASHED SPLENDID TALE!
Authoress Linda Shelnutt blasts out of the chute with guns blazing in this irreverent, cheeky declaration of war on the religions of the world!!It's all in fun, thank you very much, but whatever your beliefs, you'll find this book to be a delightfully winsome whetstone upon which to sharpen and hone your own theological skills.

And such a silver screen Linda constructs upon which to project her pleasing ballistic barbs!!The Books of Gem, of which this is one, is not a story of fairies dancing with hobbits...it's a truly down to earth story about a very special middle aged lady [who is pictured by me as 19rather than her actual age of 37] whose downright brazen barbs both delight and puzzle the good ol' boys and girls at the Good Times Cafe, in the middle of Colorado's coal country!

Linda sparkles in her creative "silver screen"....the dust from her pickup refracting the colourful rays of the Colorado sun.

Greatcreativity...even greater wit. You'll identify early on with the perky, petulant protagonist...and it'llstay with you evermore!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A FINE PIECE OF WORK
I originally wrote this review after reading this book in its serialized ten part "Amazon Short" series. Now it is all available in one spot...your Kindle.

I give this book five stars, first and foremost because Linda Shelnutt really gets the reader involved in the destiny of her protagonist.

37 year old Jennifer Green has had to come home after years on her own and a failed marriage. She is beset with creditors and bitterly disappointed that her first book The Rose and the Pyramid did not achieve the popularity she knew it should.

She is lonely, but not just for anyone, she is searching for her True Mate, as she calls him, and that alone makes for an interesting story the type of which has sold millions of books. Her encounters at The Good Times Cafe are vividly and compellingly portrayed, her rejections and disappointments tug at your heart.

With it all is a parallel story.Jennifer has a much deeper mission than finding a good marriage. Her partner has a role to play in bringing to earth a whole new "paradigm", or way of life, with joy replacing suffering, and true worth replacing guilt.Jennifer's a fallen away Catholic, and her observations on religion, and the way of living she proposes to replace it, are really inspiring...funny too.

Yes, there's a lot of humor in this book as well, because sometimes you're sure people are going to come for loveable Jennifer with nets, but she has these delightful bouts of self-doubt that add a realistic luster to her struggles with others, struggles with herself.

A truly entertaining book with love, philosophy and whimsical fantasy all competing for the enthralled reader's attention in part after part. For $7.99 MORNING COMES is truly a bargain, For those lucky enough to have a Kindle, and there is a sequel:Full Moon Rising. Sure glad I now have one. I've developed a major crush on that wacky chick with her backpack and typewriter and head full of crazy ideas.

Seriously, Jennifer could be the subject of a whole series! Incidentally, if you'd like a primer on the philosophy part of this tale, with some beautiful poetry thrown in, check out Why Is the Rose and the Pyramid A Collector's Item?

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh HECK no.
Remember that time in 1972 when we were all nearly killed by solar flares, but the natives of Sirius -- with the full backing of the Galactic Council -- saved our lives with a geometric construct of lasers? Me neither.

Remember how the level of cooperation exhibited by the forces in the first Gulf War signalled a new level of human cooperation and evolution, and how as a species we've progressed dramatically in the intervening years? Me neither.

Ever seen the 1970s 'underground' documentary Alternative 3, broadcast once on UK television and detailing the construction of the secret Martian tunnel city designed to house Earth's elite? Maybe you have. It's on YouTube, and on Region 2 DVD, and isn't a documentary at all -- though "Nothing in this Book" author Bob Frisell says it's the real thing. Fair enough. It was easier to be fooled by this sort of thing in 1994.

The book is full of twaddle like this. There's the Philadelphia Experiment, the monuments of Mars, Atlantis, ancient Egypt, Sirius-B, and any number of other tall tales familiar to observers of the subculture. There are also random attempts at math, geometry, physics, history, and astronomy, all of which seem to have been pulled from the head of a 7th grader with a drafting compass and no basic understanding of any of those fields. Rebirthing and meditation figure in there somewhere, too, somehow.

I will say, however, that Mr Frisell does not seem to have a cruel thought in his head. "Nothing" never turns into Hal Lindsey-style eschatology porn. The Greys are here, but we are not treated to abduction narratives in obsessive gynecological detail, or loving descriptions of mutilated cattle.

So...this book might make you dopier, but at least it won't make you meaner.

By the way, underground comix collectors take note: there are illustrations by Spain Rodriguez. Neat!

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Much
The issue with this book isn't that it demands an open mind, although that certainly will help. The issue is that it tries too hard to tie too many things together, and in doing so references some topics that stretch credulity, even for a book like this. For instance, the Billy Meier abduction has been pretty thoroughly debunked but it's in here. Sitchin's Nibiru? There is some pretty strong cosmological evidence that it couldn't exist or, at the very least, that it could not have been created in the way that Sitchin insists. I'm willing to give Frissell the benefit of the doubt on Toth, Melchizedek, and the greys but by bringing in these other concepts he calls everything into question. If he "knows" all this information as he claims, he should know what is crap too.

Having said that, it's a thought provoking read and the breathing exercises might be valuable, if only I could visualize tetrahedrons.

Product Description
A Harvard-trained independent scholar looks at the numerous ways Advanced Beings--Von Ward's term for angels and extraterrestrials--have been influencing human history since the dawn of time. Using biblicial and other ancient sources, along with modern scientific and achaelogical findings, he unearths new information about AB'scontributions to humanity including the roots of language, technology, math, science, and more.

"Gods, Genes, and Consciousness" ties this new historical information to the present day by revealing the ways in which our cultural memories of ABs as well as records of AB involvement have been systematically suppressed in order for government and church officials to control the population. This provocative book culminates with a stirring call for the U.S. government to stop the cover-up and tell the truth about AB involvement. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Of Great Importance!
Paul Von Ward has written a phenominal version of human origin and history, treating the "alien intervention" theory, specifically that of the Annunakis, as a given near-fact, his argument makes total sense of so many unsolved loose ends that have been kicked around by scholars and historians for years. Human civilization, and everything such as mathematics, language, science, even the alphabet, all that we take for granted, originally came from the gods who created us. As Von Ward shows us, traditional religion ,which has been the basis for countless bloody conflicts through history, has it's roots in the god cults that developed during the later years of their "colonized" time on earth. Since then, their impact on humanity has been equally profound but perhaps less"direct",certainly not so apparent in our daily lives. "Nonhuman intervention in human history", as the subtitle says, is a story of profound significance throughout our history and just as much today. We're truly a species of great importance to the divine forces which surround us. In fact,we are of divine nature, for all the good (and bad) that brings to us. Highly recommended!

3-0 out of 5 stars I must be missing something...
I'm hesitant to review this book yet because I'm only about halfway through it.But after seeing so many positive reviews, I really think I must be missing something.

I've always found the concept of ancient aliens a fascinating one.I'm familiar with some of the material that Mr. Von Ward references, but I find myself reading very slowly as I double-check facts because I don't really trust what I'm reading.I see a LOT of wild speculation - which wouldn't be so bad if it was at least backed up by some real evidence - but I don't see any of that.

What I see is the author relying quite heavily on the interpretations of Zechariah Sitchin - whose translations have (from what I can tell) largely been proven false - not by people who disagree with him, but by the ancient Sumerians themselves.Dictionaries/lexicons from the time prove his translations to be largely incorrect.Using a freely available Sumerian lexicon, you can check his translations yourself and see how off-base they are.Not to mention that none of his cosmology is corroborated by modern astronomy.

Then there's the inclusion of so much 'channeled' information and 'alternate forms of knowing.'How can you use as evidence phenomena that has not yet even been proven to be real - even if there ARE a lot of people who believe without proof?"My psychic said so" doesn't strike me as scientific evidence.

Now, don't get me wrong.I think there's a lot of value in going back and looking at ancient texts and asking the questions "What if they're more than just myth? What if the authors are relating actual experiences in the best way they can describe them?"I also think that the 'anomolies' that science currently has not explained may be more important than the things we have explained, but I expected to see more actual evidence & more hard facts.Maybe they're all packed into the second half of the book.(I'm not holding my breath.)

Even if this guy is partially correct, without any real solid evidence all we have is speculation and more questions.I'll keep reading, but I'm not sure I see the value.

5-0 out of 5 stars interesting alternate history
The author's premise that extra terrestrials were involved in human affairs in the past was well argued.I liked that the viewpoint was not as limited as that of Sitchen and his admission that more research needs to be done. It was worth the time it took to read and the price for a 400 page treatise was reasonable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Book
Another Book to read. Sometimes there are things here that make more sense than what conventional wisdom does.

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I found this book to be brilliant ... but I have done a lot of research and reading on the subject. If you research it yourself you will find mountains of evidence exist to support this so called alternate human/ET history.Besides the ancient texts there is a lot of proof in the history of our DNA. This book is not trying to convince you of anything. It is written for those of us who have already done our research.... If you are serious read the books the author lists in the back of the book.

It is brilliant because he has put all the pieces together in a context that literally explains everything. He has answers to questions ranging from "why do people kill each other for having a different religion?" to " why have we been taught we are sinners?" or "Why does the roman catholic church teach ideology that seems so different from Jesus' words?"" Why does the God of the old testament tell us to make war?"
The development of conflicting thought systems in our various cultures are explained. No one else has put it in this context ..it is amazing

Also,I like what he says because he does not deny a supreme divine consciousness, or our own divine power. I have always felt this energy is very different fromthe many multidiminionals beings out there who we have worshipped as Gods. I do believe there are many beings who seemingly have supernatural powers ...BUT that does not make them a God or especially our God. I think this is really about developing your personal creative and divine power; your personal connection with the divine source of everything without going through other people, false churches or demi gods. ... Product Description

For over fifteen centuries the mysterious crop circles have been mentioned in academic and religious texts. In the 1890s farmers and military personnel witnessed them being created in seconds by tubes of light and other luminosities.

But around 1980 the phenomenon went into overdrive and exploded worldwide, with some10,000 reports spread over 29 countries. A major controversy erupted followed by a pre-designed debunking campaign through the media. But the 80 eyewitness accounts clearly tell another story that a genuine phenomenon is at work. So what are crop circles, why are they here and what is responsible?

This book by veteran researcher and international best-selling author Freddy Silva is the most comprehensive account of the mystery ever published, much of it from personal and hands-on experience.

Written at enormous personal sacrifice, Silva brings you the complete history of the phenomenon, the anomalies that defy the present boundaries of science, and the deliberate official efforts to discredit it and manipulate the public s opinion.

Copiously illustrated with over 400 images and diagrams, he delves into the hard evidence and describes how the designs may be created by sound, plasma and the manipulation of local magnetic fields. He dissects their sacred geometry, their known meanings, hidden messages, connections with ancient symbols, and how they are energetically linked to ancient sacred sites such as Stonehenge and the Giza pyramids.

Ultimately he comes face-to-face with the source of the real crop circles including a photo of a Circle-maker and discovers how the glyphs are associated with the upcoming cycle of earth changes, and how they are working energetically to influence the future direction of human consciousness.

The message in this comprehensive and critically-acclaimed work will surprise and humble you. For the crop circles are a guide to where we have been, and a signpost to where we are headed.

3-0 out of 5 stars Did Freddy Silva even WRITE chapter 8?
Prior to chapter 8, the book was quite interesting. But then, Silva, or SOMEBODY, tries their hand at ordinary science...strike that...ordinary DEFINITIONS...and things start falling apart. For example, here is an EXACT QUOTE from his book, in chapter 8, in the section called Electromagnetics and the Energy Grid.

"the number of times a wave occurs in one second along a given length (the wavelength) determines its frequency..."[parentheses HIS]

The clause "along a given length (wavelength)" is incorrect and should be eliminated. The statement SHOULD read "the number of times a wave occurs in one second determines its frequency".

On page 129, figure 8.18 shows a drawing of the Torus Ring crop glyph, with eleven radiating fins coming from the central circle and fanning out to the outer circle. Eleven. Superimposed on this 11 "sided" figure is a so-called Star of David. A triangle and an inverted triangle over it. The caption say's "and it's encoded hexagonal geometry". Except, there IS no encoded hexagonal geometry. There are ONLY eleven simple fins radiating outwards. How do you get 6 out of 11?Superimposing such a six sided figure onto the eleven finned glyph is as arbitrary as superimposing a 5 sided, 7 sided or 8 sided figure onto it. Or even a picture of MICKEY MOUSE! Did Silva KNOW someone did this to his thesis?

Immediately to the left of figure 8.18 is figure 8.19, a glyph that resembles a magnetic grid. It is bilateral and one could even BROADLY interpret this as quadrilateral by overlooking the fact that it is ONLY bilaterally symetric. But Silva goes so far as to superimpose a PENTAGRAM over it. There is NO CORRESPONDENCE WHATSOEVER aside from the trivial fact that both the magnetic grid and the pentagram fit neatly inside A circle.

There are a number of other pronouncements he makes that singlehandedly RUINS his credibility and makes him look like some New Age flake. Its irritating. I have a 40% suspicion that Freddy Silva may himself be one of the persons on the government payroll whose goal is to disrupt serious research and consideration of crop circles as genuine non-human artifacts.

5-0 out of 5 stars Who can deny this evidence?
If you have no knowledge of the mystery of crop circles then this is your book! It's thorough, it's well-written, it's non-speculative, and boy oh boy the diagrams and images are everywhere!I don't understand how this subject can still be considered a hoax phenomenon with this book in print.Mr. Silva doesn't claim to know all the answers, but he does exhibit more than enough evidence to prove that the official explanation is a complete joke.

5-0 out of 5 stars Thank you, Freddy Silva
As a photographer, I've always enjoyed the beauty of crop circles, but haven't noticed much about them in mainstream media since the mid 80's, except a blip when the movie "Signs" came out. Thanks to Google's wonderful graphics around the anniversary of the "War of the Worlds", I came across sites with photos of recent crop circles.I've always wondered at the nay-sayers commenting that "9 out of 10 crop circles are hoaxes".So ... what about that other ONE?If it's not a hoax, what on earth is it?Freddy Silva apparently dedicated years of his life (not to mention his marriage) in search of meaning behind these anomalies; this book is a treasure trove of knowledge from a wide variety of scholarly and personal research.I personally know many artists who use the environment as their canvas, yet none could pull off such elaborate patterns in the dark for years on end without someone else discovering them (inadvertently or through boasting) let alone with such finesse as I've seen exemplified in numerous crop formation to date.Regardless, this book contains many thought provoking concepts as to be wonderful for anyone interested in crop circles (historic and modern) as well as music, light study, geometry, philosophy and mysticism."Secrets in the Fields" portrays a wonderful examination of existence within the vast cosmic dance of light, sound, and the extraordinary beauty abounding on Earth.Buy this book, read it all, and wonder:what do the crop formations imply to you?

5-0 out of 5 stars Crop Circles revealed
This is a comprehensive study of crop circles by someone who obviously has dedicated time and interest to this subject. He describes some fascinating experiences he has personally had and also the reactions of various people to the crop circles.

The vast majority appear in an area of England connected to sacred sites, leylines sound and music. There are a vast number of beautiful illustrations in colour and explanations of the geometries, and proportions of many of them. He gives scientific and mystical explanations of their origins and compositions. There are the findings of mystics and researchers and details of their experiences.

In the media they are largely ignored and misrepresented. In other cultures there are varied responses to them.In Africa they celebrate the appearance of crop circles for days with music and dancing and ceremony. The farmers on whose lands the crop circles appear have varied responses to them but the Hamish people destroy them instantly.
He gives information on the area where the crop circles usually appear and its connection with ancient sites and along a very special line, called the Michael and Mary line, because of all the churches and temples which have been built there from the earliest tims.
there is a detailed bibliography and index for further study. It is a book which should stand the test of time and deserves a place on the bookshelves of anyone interested in these amazing formations.

The area where they appear most often is

4-0 out of 5 stars Much better than it's companion publication
I wrote a review of "Rosicrucian Fundamentals: A Synthesis of Religion, Science, and Philosophy", which I believe to be a companion book to this one. That review is very negative due to the quality of it's production values.

Clearly, both books will be of most interest to those who are concerned or curious about Rosicrucian teaching. This book providesreasonably clear typeface and passable (sometimes quite good) illustrations; these are after all the main element of the book. Some of the larger plates such as pictures of the Sphinx, the Great pyramide and Stonehenge are not worth the trouble to put them on a page. However, the rest of the illustrations are good.In general, it is a standard example of the work that comes from the Kessinger publishers, of which I have numerous useful items. (They speciaize in the out-of-print gendre to good effect).

The book is a useful resource. It is a pity that the "companion" book is so poor.Otherwise they would make for a very good pair for students, research, and Rosicrucians seeking to improve their progress in the craft. ... Read more

Product Description
Sacred Vow is a metaphysical novel about a man who responds to the mysterious call of a woman, opening the way to redefinition of both himself and his understanding of the world around him. He takes his first steps on a journey to accept the world around him as a place to live, not simply a place to survive day-to-day. Sacred Vow is both a narrative and the means for the author to communicate a positive message about life and fully integrating the most into each moment. Highly recommended-Midwest Book Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DibmtqNogao (video of 1st 2 chapters, condensed)

Can the wind of a butterfly’s wing effect climate on the other side of the world? Can the love of two souls heal a great wrong in the universe? C.G. Walters’ novel “Sacred Vow,” offers compelling thought to consider, and a page turning delight to cherish.

Ian Sarin enjoys his cup of tea but lately the ritual of it brings other delights. Visions of a woman play out in his perception, beckoning further visitation. Everything in the room must be just so, with teapot, caned chair, and Ian in place. He cannot hear her speak, but can see her mouthing words, sharing her life. Is this just a vision or is it something else? His reality soon becomes less important than the alternate one that he visits. Ian’s health becomes affected and soon he needs help. While visiting an old friend in the mountains, he is introduced to Djalma, an interesting man whose presence comes into play in a large way. He will interact in Ian’s life in ways he couldn’t have imagined. The visions of Katerina become more intense and play out like episodes of a movie he has seen before. The question so important… why are the visits happening? The answer awaits on a scrap of paper that Ian had tucked away, a remnant of a dream, years before. He was chosen for this…but what exactly is this?

Reincarnation, collective consciousness, and life purpose all play large roles in this book. It is a deeply thoughtful and provocative tale that I could not put down. I so enjoyed the read that I simultaneously couldn’t wait to get to the last page but also dreaded it ending. The author evokes a great understanding of these topics and the mysteries of the universe, yet shares his perceptions in a wonderfully easy to comprehend tone. Readers will come away wonder-filled and satisfied to have read “Sacred Vow.”

5-0 out of 5 stars Sacred Vow
C.G. Walters' "Sacred Vow," is a very personal book whose story line touches on universal truth wherein exploring our collective purpose: (1). we are all connected; and (2)our state of interconnectivity is very sacred.

The Vow may be a symbol or metaphor for human nature's commitment to fully express its divine potential, while on this planet, so that "God's/Goddess' kingdom may come on earth as it is in heaven."

The fact that "Sacred Vow's" plot happens simultaneously in many realms of awareness with no regard to time and space, reminds us to stay focussed with the life we currently live, while being open to and in co-creation with knowing there is more to perceive than meets the 3-D eye.

Finally, evolution is each soul's conscious creation for nurturing and restoring, that which is most important -- relationship with the inner divine, which is also with collective consciousness.Sacred Vow

5-0 out of 5 stars a deeply provocative and healing book
"Sacred Vow" achieves what the author sets out to do in his fiction: momentarily bring the reader's conscious "defenses" down to gently expand the reader's concepts of self, reality, the world, the universe, Love.

It also achieves what few metaphysical books immediately achieve:explain to the reader (even someone new to metaphysical concepts) in an engaging, entertaining yet thought-provoking way certain metaphysical concepts like parallel lives and realities, without making the reader feel like being lectured, and in a way that makes the concepts easy to grasp at first read.

This is also the best romance book I've ever read so far:Love without the sex (!) but with a more intimate and intense lovemaking still, passion developed and grown to fulfillment in ways not many people have considered, with thereal work and struggle of true loving as the real romance of it all.

I cried as I read the book, and wept quietly when I finished it, but the tears were healing and transformative.

5-0 out of 5 stars Review on Sacred Vow
"Sacred Vow" is an excellent work of romantic fiction about two individuals who by responding to a calling, realize they are soulmates living in parallel lifetimes. It is a novel of a love so strong as to be able to reach across to each other through different lifetimes and try to find a way to be together. Even though I've read a few books with a metaphysical theme, Sacred Vow has touched me deeply with its endearing romance, its positive message on the Collective Consciousness, the possibility of parallel realities and about soulmates finding each other through the sheer strength of their spiritual love for each other. This book has been a wonderful experience for me and I would highly recommend it to all readers.

When chosen by the Crone Mother to perform a ritual, Katrina begins her frantic search for the answer to settle the rift in the Collective Consciousness.Having trained for this high honor in the monastic order of mystical women, she reserves her position by seeking and finding her understudy. In discovering their bond, Katrina comes to the realization that it will be through their one spirit, and one true love that will determine the future of her world and his.

Ian, a computer programmer, has been preparing for their meeting without an order to guide and instruct him.Unknown to him, this true love bond leads him to understand a dream of their union. For years, he has prepared their meeting place in his study so that the energy and timing of their visits will happen.

The couple transcends their parallel realities and become aware of their bond, which at first is limited in contact and lacking in conversational abilities. Through future visits, their love proves to be everlasting and such that they both risk great harm to themselves to reunite. Finally, they discover the reason for their meeting is for the good of all, and Ian's dream proves the means needed for their safety and continuous.

There exists more than "one truth."It can be defined differently by each perceiver.Truth is such until it is replaced by the next revelation. In our world, one cannot be so vain as to believe that there are only truths and non-truths.

Mr. Walters conveys the reality of mystical worlds and our interaction with them very eloquently. He states that there is "one true love in its infinite expression," meaning there is one connection, above all others that can make us feel whole, like our full selves. This book is highly recommended for the reader seeking a love story that knows no limits. As a metaphysical novel, one can expand their views of worlds and civilizations existing with us, and how we may affect those close to us with or without our knowledge.

"Sacred Vow" is highly recommended, and a sequel would be much welcomed.

When two parallel worlds break the barriers to co-exist as one, only true love can provide the solution to the rift between them. Having achieved this goal, it is with sadness that this union between soul mates cannot continue in the ways of our world. It is with gladness and thanks that a love so true can choose to sacrifice itself for the good of us all. "Sacred Vow" will bring a positive message to all to live each moment to its fullest potential. ... Read more

Product Description
One of the great mysteries of biology is how the cells in our bodies can act in perfect synchronization. Simply raising your arm requires the coordination of billions of cells. How do so many cells communicate simultaneously and rapidly, to allow the body to act in such exquisite harmony?

In The Human Antenna, London-trained physician Dr. Robin Kelly describes the mechanisms by which cells speak to each other. They communicate using electrical fields: our bones and ligaments are in fact semiconductors. This means that they can transmit both energy, like the power cord to your computer, and information, like the cable that goes to the internet. This semiconductive property of cells, first observed by scientists half a century ago, is key to explaining how information can travel from one part of the body to another.

This information exchange can happen as fast as the speed of light. Structures in each of our cells pick up and transmit signals from both inside and outside the body, like tiny antennae. Our DNA molecules themselves are semiconductive, and play a role in the transmission of energetic signals. These structures may also communicate back and forth with the quantum fields of the universe. Our intentions and beliefs are part of this matrix of energetic, quantum and cellular communication. The nature of these signals is interwoven with our health, and Dr. Kelly shows how by altering our thoughts, we can influence the messages that our cells are transmitting in every moment, to connect body to soul, and to coordinate with the intelligent universe in which we live. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars A bit dissapointing
The book give's some startling insights about accupunture: the human Antenna! But the for a book that receives so many awards the information in the book is a bit low. The author needs a lot anecdotal ado for getting to a point. Also the information about the chakra's is a bit boring and not consistently distilled from all the writers he praise about. If you wan't to know more about new phenoma you better read Mc Taggart or so.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Human Antenna: Reading the Language of the Universe in the Songs of Our Cells
The Human Antenna: Reading the Language of the Universe in the Songs of Our Cells

Robin Kelly, MD of New Zealand and I successfully connected through his take on the ways DNA sends and receives vibration locally and remotely.

When our own antennae-derived vibration resonates in harmony with the greater biosphere, the biofeedback acts like a map to guide one's conscious evolution and self-healing.

Distortion reflects in our health, in ways which are characteristic-categoric-allegoric mirroring one's degree of self-love and acceptance of others. For example, auto immune disorders, like lupus, diabetes (insipidus), and certain types of rheumatoid arthritis can be metaphoric for self-denial.

Not simply a fascinating discussion, this book generously suggests modalities to help readers "tune-in" and align with the present experience, and astonishingly, health issues resolve when we do.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful overview of the importance of mind-body medicine
This is a valuable addition to the growing stream of revolutionary books on holistic health care coming from medical doctors. They all start with the doctors feeling the same ache of knowing that the mainstream medicine they were taught to practice was not necessarily serving the best interests of their patients. Each of them finds his or her own path to discovering a way to focus on the whole patient - body, mind and spirit - and integrate other tools into their practice, like nutrition, energy medicine, guided visualization, and most importantly, taking the time to listen and understand the broader context of the patient's life.

In "The Human Antenna" Dr. Kelly anchors each step in the narrative of his own journey to integrative medicine in the growing body of evidence that we are energy beings who respond to the world around us in ways that are not explained by conventional medicine but rather by quantum science. Dr. Kelly offers lucid explanations of sometimes complex physical principles and overlays them on principles of Eastern medicine in practice for thousands of years. He shows how the work of pioneers like Bruce Lipton and Carolyn Myss illuminate the interplay between the emotions, the environment and the manifestation of symptoms in the body.

He goes through the energy centers of the body and describes the kind of emotional blockages that are often linked with physical problems associated with each chakra. He illustrates each with case studies, therapies and exercises to relieve the imbalance, and give additional tools and resources in the appendices.

This book provides a wonderful overview of the importance of mind-body medicine, and would be an excellent introduction to the field for professional and layperson alike.
