not much for pet owners
About 75% of the information in this book is about breeding budgies in avaries or for competitions.there was little information that was specifically for pet owners, and some of the information was incorrect (for instance, it recommends grit and seeds instead of pellets).however, the writers attitude toward pet birds was refreshing: he really stresses paying plenty of attention to them and preserving their 'natural' bird behavior.however, someone who cares enough about their pet to buy a book about them already knows that.

This book has been very helpful.John Bales has very concisely informed the reader all about choosing, breeding, and raising parakeets.Unfortunately, the budgie that I had originally bought this book for diedthe day I received the book.However, it was an immediate help as ittaught me to diagnose the problem with my bird and what I could do, ifanything, to avoid it happening again.Also, it has been a big help in myselecting a new budgie. ... Writer Knows Budgies in This Simple Book
I will not give away the story in my review._Buddie the Budgie Celebrates Christmas_ by Phoebe Hawthorne is a simple and fun story.There is an added ending that is hilarious.I can tell the writer loves budgies and knows how budgies act by the plot line and details in the added ending.Plus I believe she dedicates the book to her budgies.As the dedication names are not names you would give a human child generally.Sorry if I am incorrect on that one.The drawings are not colored.So it compels me to want to color them; however, I will not as I do not think it is a coloring book.If you get this for a child though they might color the heck out of it.For this reason I could see why it would not be a good book for public libraries.

I think the book is print to order as it was dated on the last page the the same date it was shipped.I do not know how the art work was done.However it looks like the pages are copied from a copy machine.I do not see this as bad as I love the story.And I recommend it to anyone especially persons who love parrots.Read it to your budgie or budgies.Ask them what they think of it. ...
