Great source!
This book helps you as a great source if you are taking a Microbiology class.It helps you study and learnd the mos important topics.Hoever, you must read your textbook, too, and class lectures.The only bad thing is that you have to look for the topic you want to read because it will not be in the same order as your textbook.

Great reference for undergraduate microbiology
I took a microbiology class in undergraduate and found this book quite thorough and well-organized no nonsense approach.It got right to the point, without the added wording of many textbooks.I also used the Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi which is on amazon.com.
I found the last book to be quite on the mark with the type of questions to know for the test.These two books really helped alleviate many surprise questions on my microbiology exams.My friend who took microbiology last year recommended these two books.He was right, these two books helped me get an A. ... Out of date
It has some good general information, but is out of date in several major ways. Does not include any information regarding Domains, poor job describing charactoristics defing bacteria.

Very good reference for microbiology
I studied this book for my undergraduate microbiology class.It helped because it got to the point was nice and concise.It focused on some important topics.It is easy to understand and keeps your attention.I also used the following which is on amazon:
Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi
The latter book was very good and a must buy because it helped me to get very good grades on my microbiology tests. Plus, it helped to eliminate some of the surprise questions that my teacher through on the test.I would defintely recommend both books for any undergraduate student taking a microbiology class.Both books are 5 stars. ... The first edition of The Prokaryotes, published in 1981, took a bold step to become the most comprehensive and authoritative encyclopedic handbook on prokaryotes.
