Surprisingly horrible!
This book turned out to be completely diferent then I expected.It starts off with a good story line and then the book takes a turn for the worst.Don't get me wrong, I read this entire book in one sitting, but only in hopes that the story would do another about face and actually turn back into the story I had hoped it would be. The ending was not predictable at all, and for the first time I find that this quality takes away from the book.Despite the unpicturesque turn of events, the book basically just ends.If you like books that focus more on the shallow, slutty aspects of teenage discovery then this is the book for you.If not this book would be a waste of time and valueble book shelf space.

really bad book
so i have read most of her other books so i thought this would also be a good book, but man was i wrong.... evan was a horrible character, who i hated and couldnt believe clark would put them together. he broke up with her last year by just never writing her back to emails and texts etc. this year he comes back flirts with her and then she sees him with another girl who turns out to be his new girlfriend of the last month that came to visit him. he goes on to tell her he didnt come back to the island for her but later says he kinda did but not only for her, umm if you have a girlfriend why did you come back for another girl. he is flakey and only seemed to care about himself, and clark ends it with coll's parents coming back and her saying her and evan would end up breaking up again (umm why did you break up with your boyfriend in that case) and you never find out what happens after her parents get back or what happens to her and evan. it had no ending it seemed like they needed a few more chapters or something

typical beach read
This book was exactly what I thought it would be. An easy & predictable read. It was very forgettable to be honest, but I read it in 3 days. I contemplated not finishing it but I decided to. It was so predictable, I could have told you the ending by the end of the 3rd chapter. I found the main character to be annoying. I also felt that the author tried to develop each of the characters but didn't succeed in doing so. Instead you ended up with a little bit of information about a whole bunch of characters instead of a lot of information on a few characters. It was really, really easy to read too which came in handy to get it over with quickly.

Amazing Story!
I have to be totally honest..I was roaming around in the young adult section at my local library and saw this short thick book and looked at the cover and thought, "Oh hey, maybe this will be good." This book was completely AMAZING! I really wished that my local library had more of her books because I would check them out! I finished this story in less then 24 hours and I could not put this book down. I usually like stories about teenaged girls that are in high school and are preppy, rich, pretty, etc. This book is not something I'm used to and I love it and I'm happy that I read it because now I am out of my shell of those stereotypical books that I used to read!

Excerpt: Islesboro Central School is a public K-12 school located in Islesboro, Maine. It is the only school on the island. Islesboro Central School was built in 1928 as a summer cottage by Mrs. J.T. Atterbury. The cottage was built for approximately $225,000 on a twenty-one acre site on Warren Mountain in the Dark Harbor section of the island. The structure was built from stone that was blasted from the original site. The twenty-five room mansion later became known as "Rock Ledge" when Mrs. Lillian Whitmarsh of New York owned the estate. In the summer of 1952 the town of Islesboro offered to buy the residence from Mrs. Whitmarsh to be used as a school. However, at that time Mrs. Whitmarsh refused to sell the property. That December, at a special town meeting, the island residents voted unanimously to accept the gift of Mrs. Whitmarsh's estate to be renovated and used as their new public school.
