Good book.Reminds me of a book that would be used to an actual classroom setting (I am using it for personal).But I like it...very different from my other ASL books.I like that it has quizzes at the end of each chapter.

This encyclopedia is the wonderful product of many eminent contributors from all over the world.
I have three of its volumes and am waiting impatiently for the fourth that will come out any day now.
The work is a must-have for any researcher in the field of Arabic culture, languages and linguistics and anyone interested in this field.

Better, but still not good enough.
Where Faulkner's book consisted of handwritten notes, the 'English-Egyptian Index' appears to be poorly typed and thrown together. There are no hieroglyphics displayed whatsoever, making it useless without buying Faulkner's book as well (though I imagine that was the idea). The publisher didn't even bother to reprint the book with a phonetic font. All phonetic signs appear to have been penned onto the text, with occasionalty confusing character substitutions. Students again will have to make due, though. Just like Faulkner's dictionary, it seems to have cornered the market.
