Great for early writers or delayed writers!
I have twins who are 4 and are delayed in their fine motor skills. I could NOT get them to focus and work on any of their writing until I got this book out. They both love the concept of "green light means go and red light means stop." This book has just that. You start on the green dot and move the pen until you get to the red dot. I was able to sit down with one of my sons and go through all of the green to red activities in the book! He was soooo excited that he was able to do them, and he learned to make straight and curved lines for the first time ever. Now, he wants to practice all of the time! The only thing that I would improve was making the letters bigger in this book. There is only one page with letters on it, and the letters are very small. My son loves letters and is already reading, but he can't trace the small letters. Also, there is no red and green dot to trace with the letters. I want to see if I can find a "next step" of this book with the letters. ... Read more

I've purchased MANY children's workbooks and only recently discovered this one.I have to say that I found this one to be notably different and creative.It takes word scrambles, crosswords, etc. to another level, and comes up with puzzle formats I haven't yet seen.This book has fewer pages than other books I've gotten but in that respect, it's not so overwhelming and is easy to handle.Though challenging, the puzzles are not elaborate and lengthy.My daughter found them to be delightfully rewarding. ... Very good ideas for lots of children or just a few
We wanted to incorporate "circle time" in my children's routine. These books have been a great addition. The poems are impressive and suggested activities are doable and fun. They are also able to be done with just 3 children (like we have) or a classroom full of children. This book is very useful for the home, but I could see it being used in a daycare center, preschool, or any early childhood program. It is also set up in a way that you can personally build upon the book with ideas included. We can stretch a poem out for a week of activities and the children not get bored. ... Read more
