Product Description
Our children are overfed and undernourished. Even if they are not living on pizza and ice cream, they may be eating foods that can have serious long-term effects on their health. An ever-growing body of research is revealing that the major diseases Americans suffer and die from are lifestyle related and to an extent preventable in that some of the root causes begin in childhood. Many cases of childhood imbalances, such as obesity, hyperactivity, dental problems, and learning disabilities can be aggravated by poor eating habits. Shelly Null has written a comprehensive guide to feeding children better, from the crib to young adulthood, without sacrificing flavor or fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids and adults
I have been through many healthy cook books for children and this one is by far the best one. Every single recipe I have made was delicious!! Even my husband, who is a big meat eater and reluctant to try something new, loved everything I made. My son is 2 1/2 and loved all the recipes. He also loves to help prepare the meals. He especially loves Hummus.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good reference for vegetarian menu choices
As a dietitian who deals with childhood obesity, I like the way she addresses having a snack shelf for your child. She explains ingredients well and has a chart for legume and grain cooking that I have memorized. However, having been a vegetarian for 26 years, I find the baked goods overloaded with banana.

We use the granola recipe, but found Vegan Planet a better all-round recipe book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Ideas and Menus
This was a well written book though I did not realize it focused on vegetarian dishes.Still - it's all good, just may be hard to find some of the ingredients.

3-0 out of 5 stars Needs to be more realistic
Overall, it is a pretty good book. What I found laughable was her comparison menus in the back of the book. For the unhealthy ones there was just soda, fruit drinks, and chocolate milk listed for the entire breakfast on some days.I may not be the healthiest person in the world, but I would never give that to my child as a meal and don't know anyone else who would either. It's one thing to point out the unhealthy foods that she does with other meals; it's another to consider her examples as mainstream. There are good recipes and menus if you're raising your children vegetarian/vegan; if you aren't, this is definitely not the book for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Healthy Cooking for Kids
I love this cookbook. This is one I go back to again and again. My four 1/2 year old grew up eating all the recipes in this book and now he loves helping me make them.I buy a copy for all my friends as a baby shower present. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Cookbook for Kids or Adults-Easy But Great Recipes
This is a great cookbook for kids or students, or anyone with time pressures, who needs to fix a simple, but nutritious meal. We have prepared numerous dishes from this book and all were delicious!

3-0 out of 5 stars okay book, but not brilliant.recipes are high in fat
this book claims to teach kids about healthy eating but most of the recipes it contains are of either high fat eg macaroni with LOTS and LOTS of CHEESE!!or full of SUGAR eg the chocolate desserts.
kids LOVE some of these recipes basically because theyre full of fat,one recipe we did enjoy however was the apple and cinnamon muffins, they did taste real good and one of the salads was also good(not the ceasar salad though, yuck!!)
my son(whos eight) did make the pasta and cheese dish and wouldnt eat it because he said it tasted too cheesy.he did like the slush dessert though
call me strange but i believe that a cookbook which it amined at children shoul have low fat and healthy recipes.most of the recipes here are either high in fat or high in sugar.this is a disappointment for me and my family

5-0 out of 5 stars The best for kids
I've never come across a better book to get kids going on learning to cook... My son made us a scrumptious meal the first night he had the book!I recommend highly.

5-0 out of 5 stars My nephews loved this cookbook!!!!!
I bought this for my young nephew for his birthday and it made him feel so grown up!! With my sister's help all three of her kids were able to easily have lots of fun making these recipes that are especially designed with kids in mind - things kids love to eat, lots of pictures, easy to follow. The kids were so eager to make dinner for the whole family!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the better Children's Cookbooks
This is one of the better Children's Cookbooks out there. This one reminds me of the old Betty Crocker style children's cookbooks that I grew up with. This book has a nice section on tools of the kitchen, preperation methods all fully loaded with pictures. The recipes can be prepared easily, and best of all they taste really great. The book has a wide variety of recipes too, some easy things, and some more advanced recipes so that children of all ages will be able to enjoy this one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for family cooking
This book contains real information that parents need to know how to properly feed their children. Most of the recipes families will find fun to make together.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Recipes
Although I have not made many recipes from this cookbook yet, I was very pleased with all of the healthy alternatives used in the ingredients.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute and great recipes
I was looking for cookbooks that have pictures for almost EVERY recipe and this was one that I flipped through in a brick and mortar bookstore. I was even happier when I got the book. Great recipes, great ideas with kids and actual recipes we'll eat with yup, you guessed it PICTURES!I don't know about you, but I am a visual person and want to see the cooked version in picture form for recipes. Now I have this.GREAT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Well-rounded cookbook
I bought this cookbook for a family with a vegetarian mother.I really enjoyed that there were a wide range of recipes were/could be meatless. It had a much better format than most of the kids' cookbooks I looked at, and I appreciate that it uses fresh whole foods rather than assembling convenience or pre-packaged products.I am probably going to purchase one for our family as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not your average kid cook book.
I was happy to see this was money well spent. This isn't little snack foods for kids to make for kids,(ie. "ants on a log").There is a great variety of snacks, meals, dessert, ect. in this cook book that can feed the family. If you have read Family Fun magazine then you know the format for their recipes. It neatly points out what kids can do and when adults should help out.Nice hardcover with spiral. 5-0 out of 5 stars Recipes focus on fresh ingredients
Picture yourself in the kitchen cooking with children at hand: parents and kids learn how to develop cooperative methods to develop tasty food from scratch in a book designed to involve kids not just in the kitchen, but from start to finish: menu plans, grocery shopping, basic cooking skills, and food safety. Recipes focus on fresh ingredients and are embellished with color photos and easy step-by-step instructions, making this a perfect guide for parents and kids to follow.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, you can cook with your kids
This cookbook has been a great find. It's not a cutsie cookbook filled with a bunch of recipes involving lots of sugar or smiley faces on the food. It's not a cookbook you hand off to your children and tell them to get going. No, it's a cookbook that's for the both of you or the whole family. It's also a good read (those of you who love cookbooks will know what I'm talking about.)

The author designed this cookbook to involve kids in the whole process - learning about how food is grown and how it is brought to market, making good nutritional choices, basic cooking techniques, making the kitchen kid-friendly, age appropriate cooking, how to use appliances, etc. The author educates the adults in a friendly way so they can turn around and involve/teach the children.

What I'm trying to say is that Picture Yourself Cooking With Your Kids is more than recipes, although there are plenty of those.

The format of the book is kid-friendly with plenty of pictures, instructions, "try this" boxes, notes, and "tip" boxes,For example, the Lemon Rosemary Chicken recipe has a "freezes well" icon, 4 pictures , info on the time it takes to make and the time it takes altogether including baking, the nutritional information, ingredients, directions, and a Cook's Tip box.I appreciate that the recipes are for food that is good for my family.Light and Fluffy Oat Pancakes, Gobble It Up Turkey Kabobs, Squish Squash Soup, Pizza Your Way, Savory Cheese and Scallion Scones, and Ginger Applesauce Cake are a few of the recipes.

There are cookbooks out there with easier recipes, but this cookbook is about learning to cook real meals and learning skills that will last a lifetime. It's about sharing experiences, adult and child, in the spirit of adventure and cooperation.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not Just for Kids!
The foodie enthusiasm, the "Cook's Tips," the emphasis on whole and healthy and FUN recipes appeal to big kids, too. We've had the book sitting casually in the living room at our bed and breakfast for the last month: "Where can I get this book?" Our own two grown-up kids made breakfast from it for us--that was quite a pleasure!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
I'm so impressed by this book. The recipes are not the standard kid-fare.They are healthy, tasty, wonderful recipes that will teach your kids to enjoy the real flavor of fresh foods and home cooking. There are photos of the foods being prepared--awesome for those who tend to second guess or wonder if they are doing things right.I'm going to buy a few more copies for friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars More than a cookbook
This is a great cookbook. It contains much more than recipes, though. This book really teaches a healthy lifestyle, and includes strategies for passing that lifestyle on to your kids. Americans have largely embraced a fast-paced, fast-food lifestyle that encourages us to eat massive quantities of empty calories. This book offers helpful strategies to avoid these bad habits, without being preachy or sounding like the hippie handbook.
The recipes are great, too. The pancakes in particular are fabulous- healthy, tasty, great texture. My husband made them with our 2-year-old niece, and they had a blast. It was a simple enough recipe for her to be able to "help" a fair amount. All the recipes involve easy measurements, so kids of all ages can help in varying degrees. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Ready, Steady, Spaghetti Cooking for Kids and With Kids
Product in excellent condition and delivery half way across the world extremely quick.Looking forward to using it with my grandaughter.

3-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and sometimes delicious
I love the idea of this book. My kids are 2 1/2 (so likely young for the target audience) but love cooking so I want to get them more involved. I really appreciate the photos, particularly the recipes that have photos of multiple steps, kind of like the kids' version of pioneerwoman.com. I like the variety of recipes, both in terms of types of food (e.g., dinner vs. dessert) and the variety of cultures represented. On the negative side, there are occasional inaccuracies (e.g., pumpkin soup has butternut squash, not pumpkin, as an ingredient). There also sometimes could be more detail, particularly for children (e.g., sometimes it doesn't say what level heat to use on the stove).

I've now made 4 recipes. Vegetarian chili was a hit. Grown ups and kids all loved it. Chicken and leek risotto was our least favorite. I loved it in theory, but it had very little flavor. I might try it again with 3 or 4 (instead of 1) leeks and more seasoning. Tofu with greens and noddles was also rather bland (and my kids love tofu). The biggest hit was jam thumbprints. The recipe was super simple and tasty. But more important, it was really fun for the kids to make. There was measuring, pouring, mixing, rolling dough, making the thumbprints, and adding the jam, and of course, eating cookies. Ours looked nowhere near as pretty as the photo, but no one cared!

2-0 out of 5 stars cookbook review
Have not tried too many recipes. Although tasty, some are very high in fat content, using heavy cream instead of a lower fat alternative. One thing that was very disappointing to my son was that some dessert recipes called for raw eggs (without cooking them) but no warning was made about cooking with raw eggs. This was a big oversight and made it disappointing to my child when I had to explain that we couldn't cook a recipe.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not child friendly
Ready, Steady, Spaghetti: Cooking For Kids And With Kids

The recipes seemed to include many ingredients that I would not consider appropriate for a young child's taste.

3-0 out of 5 stars More for older children
I'll begin with what I like about this book. The photographs are stunning, and of a quality that is unheard of in cookbooks for children. This is fantastic because it's probably the best way to engage a child's curiosity and interest, particularly when considering recipes that are unfamiliar. Second, the dessert, party, and beverage sections are excellent and replete with creative names (poison potion, bloodbaths, beach baby jellies, etc.).

The biggest disappointment for me was the entree and vegetable sections. My kids are younger (6 and 3), but they definitely have broader palettes than most children their age. Yet, I still didn't find many new recipes that I thought I could make for dinner tonight and know they would eat. The "standbys" such as spaghetti, lasagna, etc. are widely covered elsewhere, and the rest of the entree section is heavily weighted toward Asian food, which does not make for an instant hit in my house. The vegetable section is so short it makes me wonder why it was included. It also has the misleading title "eat your greens," and then includes a recipe for both hash browns and scalloped potatoes. Given the limited real estate dedicated to vegetables, I would have much preferred to see interesting recipes for green beans, peas, spinach and broccoli more so than "stir-fried chinese vegetables" or "stuffed mushrooms."

I think the book is geared more toward older children and teens, but I'm glad I have it anyway. I will be interested to see how my children react when they see the pictures of the recipes, when we try some of them and how well they are received. I will update this review after we've tried some of them. Until then, I give the book 3 stars. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great book- the best for kids
We borrowed this book from the library, and I am now going to purchase it. FINALLY a cookbook that doesn't include junk and sugar and other stuff kids do not need. I love it when she says "do not order off of the kids' menu at a restaurant". I have four young children, and we have never ordered off of a children's menu. It is all fried, processed, junk that parents have felt the need to feed their kids. They say that's all their children will eat- well who gave it to them in the first place? Product Description
Recipes and food ideas give a variety of food experiences appropriate for various age groups. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, care-giver, teacher, or young cook, this book is meant to inspire you to enjoy cooking together.

Cooking with children is a hands-on activity that helps to teach, to create, and to help in their appreciation of the gift of food. What better time is there to set the stage for working with, and enjoying, food than during the early years?

Each season features food appropriate for that time of year. It begins with back to school ideas for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks using food from the garden's bounty, whether one's own, farmer's market, or store bought bounty, with ample Halloween pumpkin and apple recipes. Thanksgiving and holiday food ideas are plentiful. Multicultural celebration holiday recipes and activities are included, as well as food suggestions for New Year's open house. Food ideas for Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day, St. Patrick's Day, April Fools' Day, Easter, and Mothers' and Fathers' Day and 4th of July are some of the spring and summer holidays that are featured. Tucked away between its recipes are bits of history and culture, plus many suggestions for seasonal activities. Some of these include making placemats out of fall leaves, discussing holiday customs from different countries, planting a vegetable in a garden or clay pot, and arranging summer flowers for a centerpiece. There are many fun ideas for serving, decorating, and celebrating.

This book emphasizes many valuable life skills such as: following directions; practicing safety and proper food handling methods; establishing meaningful traditions that enrich family life; fostering cooperation and a willingness to share; practicing good table manners; preparing and tasting food from other cultures; and helping children enjoy preparing food while learning about the background of the food and the part food plays in various traditions and holidays. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Activites n' Cooking: An amazing learning experience for children as well as parents!

The layout, copy, as well as the size of the book is relevant to what attracts readers. It aids in understanding, sharing, cherishing, and passing on traditions to your children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for children! So much more than recipes!
This book is so interesting, and I even learned things about foods that I didn't know! I was looking for ideas for holidays, especially with Summer just around the corner. This book helps kids not only by explaining foods, but also the history behind using certain foods for certain holidays. It is overall a very good book, and I would recommend it to any parent whose children are interested in helping with the cooking!

5-0 out of 5 stars Food and Fun with Children in the Kitchen
Amy Houts has given us a guidebook for involving our children in cooking and preparing food. The book provides hands-on activities to help teach children be grateful for the marvelous gift of food.

The book provides a variety of mouth watering recipes, instructions, and valuable background information on the origin of holidays, customs, and family tradition.Material is arranged in order of the four seasons.Within each season the author also considers weather, holidays, location, harvest, and family traditions.

I especially appreciated the pointers and tips on a variety of subjects including: safety in the kitchen, table manners, back to school breakfast ideas, lunch box ideas, a cookie baking exchange party, simple holiday gifts from the kitchen, creating invitations and telephone etiquette when planning an event, guidelines for athletes, and many more.

The book is particularly timely in this day when there is a national concern for the rising problem of obesity among children. The suggestions in this book offer an alternative to fast food diets, and encourage nutritional awareness among family members. Another positive result of these activities is the quality time parent spends with their child in accomplishing meaningful tasks together.

"Cooking Around the Calendar with Kids" has received the `Book Achievement Merit Award' from the Midwest Independent Publishing Association and is highly acclaimed by experts in the field of child development, children's nutrition, and children's literature. This is an excellent book for parents, grandparents, and a good choice for gift giving on any special occasion.

5-0 out of 5 stars 2004 Writers Notes Book Award Winner
Recent statistics say that the nuclear fam-ily rarely shares meals, but we all have to eat, don't we? Why not get the kids involved in the meal preparation? Houts covers the seasons with simple and fun recipes that turn every day into a holiday celebration, including nutrition, food presentation, and kitchen safety.

5-0 out of 5 stars "So Much More Than A Cookbook"
"So Much More Than A Cookbook", a statement on the back cover of "Cooking Around the Calendar With Kids", is an accurate description of this delightful source book. The introduction explains the reasons for our food choices including weather, holidays, location, harvest times, and family traditions. The author uses the simple means of cooking to incorporate a variety of important skills for children. These skills range from learning about healthy eating, kitchen safety, sports nutrition and the changing seasons to spending quality time with family members (including dad!). Children are taught to give of themselves (while also raising self esteem) by making simple holiday food gifts such as honey butter, spice mix, soup mix, or chocolate chip cookies in a jar. Each page is 'jam packed' with simple, healthy recipes and wonderful ideas. This book is a valuable resource for anyone in contact with young children whether a child care provider, parent, grandparent or next door neighbor.

5-0 out of 5 stars C. Wizardry Rules!!!
I wish I could give this awsome cookbook 100 stars. My grandma got me this book and now I know so much about cooking I could burst! In this cookbook Kenda and Williams lead you through a fun maze of cooking, experiments, stories, ideas, and fun.In this book there is 1,000 pounds of fun. One recipe I've tried is the Astronaut Shortbread cookies. They were easy and fun to make. They are the ideal snacks plus they taste good!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good? Bad?
I bought this cookbook a long time ago. The soup made from leftovers is extremely good, but the 1 teaspoon of pepper it calls for is a little extreme and burned my mouth. ( I suggest seasoning the soup to taste at the table. ) The Christmas tree ornament dough is very good and versatile. The only recipe I would not recommend is the dog biscuits- which looked terrible. I gave them to a dog owner who lives next door, and he said the dog ate them. Was he being polite, or where the dog biscuits virtually inedible? Beats me. This is a good book for small kids who want to cook.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Guide for Entertaining and Teaching Children
This book is great! A fellow teacher of mine showed me this book that she uses every week for planning her lessons. The book explains how to make delicious food items and cool experiments. I have seen the children in great delight making their own frozen yogurt or taste testing honey that is made from different flowers. I enjoyed the book so much I intend to purchase it for my own collection and use it in my own classroom. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Families
Cooking Around the Country With Kids: USA Regional Recipes and Fun Activities by Amy Houts is a book for all families with children. One of the suggestions that I give to families when facilitating parenting classes is that children should be included and have responsibilities that revolve around mealtimes. Cooking Around the Country With Kids is a perfect resource for families. The great thing about this book is that it also teaches children about the United States, where our food sources are, and cooking skills, too.

The format of the book takes us to ten different regions in the USA and has great suggestions for family activities, geographic descriptions and food growing facts, along with recipes from the region. This makes the book a great resource for both home and school. It could help bring variety into family meals along with teaching cooperation, nutrition, planning, kitchen safety, reading and math skills along with geography and culture. It would be a great plan to find one evening each week when everyone is home and make it the "Cooking Around the Country" night at your house.Include the children in all aspects of this special evening, from writing the grocery list, shopping, meal preparation, and all the way to meal clean up.

I know that I will be recommending this book to families participating in my parenting classes.Thank you, Amy Houts, for creating a family-friendly resource that is both fun and educational.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Cooking Around the Country with Kids: USA Regional Recipes and Fun Activities"--All-American eats and gooey-goody time

Want to cook up some yummy meals with the kids AND teach them about geography, history, science and all kinds of nifty things? Then cook up some time to spend with the young crew and dig into "Cooking Around the Country with Kids" by prolific award-winning writer Amy Houts.

From New England to Hawaii--from main dishes to veggie/side dishes--not to mention beverages and desserts, your palate will thank you and so will your kids.(If not now--they will someday.)This book kneads quality time into the schedule.

The recipe for success is Ms. Hout's easy-to-follow (ten ingredients or less), but interestingly diverse mix of recipes.Whether the menu calls for dishes of unconventional Cream of Peanut Soup, Ham and Red Eye Gravy, Goober Bread or more conventional fare like chicken potpie, hush puppies or cheese omelet, the finickiest foodies (young and old) should be appeased and pleased!

The activites that complement the regional descriptions are as savory as the recipes. With ideas, such as pretending to ice fish or attempting to grow an avocado plant, kids along with adults will experience nothing but pure fun with a delicious dollop of learning mixed in.

The book's graphic layout is, like the text, simple, easy-to-maneuver and minced with joy.Eat, laugh, learn, slop up the kitchen...the book is a testimony to bonding with love--American style.

5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious, Traditional Recipes
This wonderful cookbook features many delicious, traditional recipes. The book also serves as a kind of travel guide, giving the reader information about the different regions from which the recipes originate. The cookbook directions designate which cooking activities are appropriate for children, and which should be done by adults. This is a good feature to include, keeping everyone safe while cooking. It's great to get youngsters started in the kitchen early. We love baked goods, so we especially enjoyed the dessert recipes. However, there are lots of recipes for good home-cooking, too.We are anxious to try more of the delicious recipes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious Fun... Learning on the side...

What a delightful way to interact with your children, grandchildren or students!

Children love to mix, stir and pour with sand, dirt or water. Why not take this enjoyable play and divert it to the kitchen?Instead of mud pies you gain quality time as well as skills in social interaction, social studies, math and science. There's also joy in producing something to share that is yummy!

Amy Houts, a prolific writer, imparts an abundance of ideas for children and their families, friends and care givers. She is adept in supplying clear instructions for children to be successful and yet, allow for creativity. The introduction includes hints for conserving water, energy and paper products, nutrition, working together, cooking terms and safety.

For each geographical region of the United States, there are recipes, activities, fun facts and history. You will find a variety of recipes to suit everyone's taste such as breads, soups, main dishes, vegetables, deserts and beverages.

Featured delicacies highlight locally grown foods. For example, from the Pacific Coast Region you will discover recipes for Fruit Relish, Waikiki Meatballs and Applesauce Mix-in-the-Pan Cake. From the Appalachian Highlands, you will find Chicken `n Biscuit Dumplings, Scrambled Eggs with Virginia Ham and Pecan Bars.

Together you can shake up some homemade butter while singing the "Butter Song" or if you like, whip up your own peanut butter

The type is large enough for beginning readers or aging eyes to appreciate. Simple drawings and interesting type add character to the pages.

Cooking Around the Country with Kids is an altogether delightful book for kids of all ages!

We made the Brownies and the Oat Slice. They were both delicious. We sold the brownies for $2 each (for charity) and made more money than we paid for the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Affordable Cookbook for Beginners
Starting Cooking is a thorough introduction to cooking, from the utensils needed to measuring tips to skills such as chopping, slicing and grating vegetables, and kneading dough. What I like most about the book is that the recipes are ones the whole family can eat and enjoy. No pancakes in the shape of bears or cutesy bagel faces here.Instead you'll find colorfully illustrated directions for making spaghetti, stuffed baked potatoes, savory rice, chicken parcels, pizza and tuna casserole. My six year old beamed from ear to ear as he proudly served the spaghetti and green salad I helped HIM make. 4-0 out of 5 stars Cute book!
This book is great! Great recipes that the WHOLE family would like.... Cute ideas, easy to complete! Good Buy!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Not healthy recipes, but healthier versions of stuff kids really like
Modern families with kids are always pressed for time and it is too easy to reach for fast food or packaged processed foods. Here is a book with 150 creative yet simple recipes that will help you put together meals for your kids. These are the kinds of recipes you can even put together with them and teaching kids to cook and prepare their own food is a very valuable life skill. You need to know that although these meals are healthier than the standard versions of these meals, the book is not full of recipes your kids will find strange and not want to eat.By using more fruit, lowering some fat, substituting turkey for higher fat meats where you can, watching the amount of sodium you use, and controlling portion size, you can do a lot to help your kids and teach them to take control of their meals and take responsibility for their health.

I like the fact that all the recipes have nutritional information. As I read them I was still surprised at how high some of the recipes are in sodium.Of course, if you look on packaged and canned foods, the amount of sodium they contain is mind boggling.

The authors have also including a quick description of the dish, timing for preparing the whole dish, how many servings it makes, a clear ingredients list, and the few steps it will take you to put it together. Most of the dishes also include a beautifully shot photo of the meal so you can have a clear vision of what you are trying to create.

The recipes are organized into eight chapters.1) breakfasts, 2) quick snacks, 3) brown bag lunches, 4) quick salads, 5) dinners, 6) vegetable side dishes, 7) desserts, 8) party ideas.

You don't need to be a master cook to put these recipes together. In fact, you can be a beginner. Many of them as simply assembling items you can purchase and put together. There is some use of the stove, oven, and microwave, but nothing complex.Again, I think one of the great uses of the book is to use these recipes with your kids to teach them how to cook.

Have fun with this delightful collection of simple kid-friendly recipes.
