The major combines social, physical, and biological sciences to ensure informed management of forests and associated resources. What the Major is Like Foresters are frequently involved in managing timber, water, recreation, forage, and wildlife habitat. They also play an important role in improving the environment. In addition to managing the forest's many resources, some forestry professionals are involved in wood science and technologythat is, they study the physical and chemical properties of wood as an industrial raw material.
