Editorial Review Product Description In response to changes in the approach to medical eduction, this fourth edition is designed as a problem solving book. Every chapter begins with a number of clinical cases which the reader is asked to read prior to studying the chapter. Suggested management plans are supplied at the end of the chapter. In addition to these problem-solving exercises, project work is included for each chapter, which can be carried out using either an on-line database or medical library. Many of the full color illustrations to be found throughout the text are new to the Fourth Edition, and the page size has been enlarged and the design updated to make the book easier and more appealing to use. Successful features such as 'growth points' familiar to users of previous editions have been inclued in the Fourth Edition. Customer Reviews (2)

Editorial Review Product Description VisualDx: Essential Pediatric Dermatology is the first of a series of printed companions to the VisualDx online decision support system. The book enables the clinician to read the fundamentals of common and serious pediatric skin diseases on the printed page, then search the online system to answer a clinical question at the point of care. Like the VisualDx online system, the book is organized by symptoms and other visual clues. Searching in this fashion will lead to precise, targeted, and patient-specific differential diagnoses. More than 500 full-color illustrations show variations of pediatric skin disorders in children of all skin colors. |

Each diagnosis begins with a realistic case and includes detailed discussions of pathogenesis, diagnostic methods, and therapy. An "at a glance" therapy section summarizes primary and secondary treatments to make treatment decisions easier. The book includes over 300 full-color images of skin lesions, numerous patient handouts, and a folded-in anatomical chart for the office.
