SO Thrilled To Have Purchased ThisBookAt A Bargain thru Amazon!
Originally created the Holiday Study stocking from an issue ofCross Stitch & Country Crafts Magazine in 2000 for an elderly relative.After his death, recycled it for a young train lover by picking out the original name and re-naming it.Now, I have grandbabies and stepchildren for whom I need stockings.

Looking forward to creating the Sugar and Spice, Toys and Games, Home For the Holidays, and North Woods stockings for our new additions.If you can find this book, JUMP on it!It's SO fabulous!I feel SO fortunate to have purchased it for $6 on Amazon.I'm not certain,but I believe I spent more than $6 for the one magazine I purchased in 2000.This book is a GEM!

TRULY HEIRLOOM STOCKINGS!
I have made these stockings sixteen times for my children and grandchildren! They are a tradition in our family.My oldest daughter lost her set of four for her family in moving and I had to redo all of hers because they meant so much to her!They take hours to make but are truly worth the investment.They definitely are not for beginning cross-stitchers, but will be family heirlooms.But what's truly sad is that now that my husband and I are empty nesters I have not made any for us!!!!When they are made they receive many, many compliments!!!!I had to buy the book a second time because my first book fell apart from use. (I even have some of the leaflets.)

Beautiful Stockings
I love these stockings. I bought the book in 1995 (the year my older son was born). I made him the Home for Christmas stocking - it is truly stunning! I am soooo glad I hung on to the book as I now have a younger son. So, now I'm making him one as well.

Good Food Good Ideas
I have most of the books in this series and each one is a delight. Full of ideas for making the gifts you give really stand out. When I make something from one of these books I always take the recipe with me.. I know I will beasked for it! The only draw back is that some of the recipes call forseveral ingredients and unless you have a well stocked pantry it can be atad costly. However do not let that stop you. Best Christmas stocking book I've seen
I picked this book up (it was gently used) at a discount bookstore a couple of years ago.Just flipping through the pages, I was impressed with many of the designs, so I bought it.They can't all be winners, of course, but I saw at least a dozen I'd be interested in making. It's not the typical stodgy, boring, granny stockings you see in most books. These are more contemporary and have a great creative flair.

Since I enjoy making crafty things for friends, family and co-workers, at Christmas time I made three of these stockings.People raved about them.The designs range from classic, elegant, country, whimsical (personally I hate whimsical), some made from unusual materials (paper, etc.) and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.You can also get creative and make your own variations. There are patterns included for stockings of various shapes but it's easy to alter them if needed.

I love this book because it sparks my creativity.I've seen many stocking books and I've never seen one this good.In fact, that is why I'm writing a review now... I was searching for some more Christmas stocking books and I am (again) seeing not much that looks interesting to me.I highly recommend this one; even if I had paid full price, it would have been worth every penny.

This book has easy directions and diagrams to make each part of the nativity.I was very happy with the finished product. "Baking" for Christmas with your Sewing Machine
I love to bake for the Holidays but with watching my weight, it has become a no-no.To satisfy my need to bake, I picked up CHRISTMAS WITH ARTFUL OFFERINGS instead.You can "bake up" a batch of cookies in no time with a bit of fabric, ribbon and thread.

I loved the way this book was written.Each pattern starts out with a list of "ingredients" and goes on to pattern preparation.These terms make you think of baking rather than sewing and it is a cute way to write Christmas patterns.There is a color photo of the item before each set of instructions begins and each has a descriptive paragraph about the item.The instructions are clearly written with nicely done graphics to go along with them.

I have not sent Christmas cards in a number of years because I feel it is a waste.I mean how many cards can one keep?The author has solved my problem on that score.Quilted Cookie Note Cards are a wonderful way to send cards again AND if you add a bit of ribbon for a hanger, they can become ornaments for the recipient's tree.

Aprons are making a comeback and the Ginger Cookie Lined Apron is very easy to make.It is a full "bib" apron which is very nice for a hostess trying to get food on the table but yet wanting to be dress for the occasion.

Ms. Hittle provides needle punch patterns as well as sewing patterns.Other patterns include a vase, place mats, napkins, stockings and a wall hanging.The book contains plenty of different items so you should find one for everyone on your Christmas list.

One-dimensional decorating
Not knowing this author, but trying to build a collection ofChristmas ideas, I eagerly ordered this book.I now realize that there is a group of "Mary" fans for which this book is intended: those who know & love what this author produces. I think this because the book has received such glowing reviews here, but I found its ideas and techniques uninspiring, page after page.

I did like looking at the cards created by the author.But I quickly became bored with the rest; it's all green+red+gold themes, the photos are fuzzy, and the ideas lack variety.So this "Mary" book will not become part of my library.I'm releasing it for someone else to enjoy.

I have found more inventive holiday how-to books out there--such as the Southern Living series--Christmas with Southern Living 2006.Happy Holidays.

Very Disappointed
I don't know what people consider small space but this book doesnt't cover it.My rooms are 11x13 with no flat walls.The illustrations aren't expanded enough to get a real sense of the rooms and what I saw didn't excite me.And, the ideas are really old, if you have access to HGTV watch it for better ideas.Not worth my money and sorry I brought it.

I agree with previous posters.For the money and the small size of this book, it's a great value.The same few pieces are used over and over again, but that proves how well they work.This one is a keeper.

Small Spaces
I got several good ideas from the book that will work well in my "small spaces".The book has really nice, high quality pictures.I would recommend the book to anyone trying to get a better fit in a small space.

Small book, but chock full of great ideas.
This book has many great ideas for each room of the home and includes large, clear, color photos showing those ideas at work. Rooms that are often overlooked in organizing books, such as craft rooms, nursery, and even the garage, are given attention here.

Some of the items for small spaces that the authors recommend are easily purchased, such as the multi-purpose storage cubes that are shown in different configurations for widely-varying uses in several different rooms.The book's resources section tells you exactly where to purchase these items.Some items, such as the futon that doubles as a guest bed for a dorm room, come with instructions for making it yourself (not as difficult as you'd think...even a beginner could do it).

This book looks at using oft-missed nooks and crannies in small apartments and houses, but also looks at how to make the most of multi-purpose rooms and single-room living, such as dorm rooms and studio apartments.
