Depois do Carnivore, agora =E9 o "lanterna m=E1gica"... In mid-December, the FBI made a startling announcement that received scant attention. A spokesman for the bureau acknowledged it was developing a controversial Internet spying software codenamed Magic Lantern that supposedly can surreptitiously enter an individual's personal computer, record every keystroke, and zap all this data back to the G-men and G-women. Presto, the data-snoops at the bureau would have the target's computer passwords, the texts and addresses of all the emails written by him or her (even those angry emails drafted but never sent), a record of all the Internet traveling he or she did, copies of snail-mail correspondence, the contents of any diary kept, to-do lists, on-line banking information, memos, you-name-it anything typed into the computer, even if it were immediately deleted or trashed.

It supports OSS and ALSA sound drivers, wav, mp3, aiff, cdda, au, snd, raw and standard file streams (all can be used both as inputs and outputs). Effects can be combined both in series and in parallel, while effect parameters can be controlled in realtime with oscillators and MIDI controllers. ICANN Addressing Web Future: ZDNet Australia: News & Tech: News coop and .coop, administered by a cyber co-op They are seeking the suffixes .mus,.muse, .museum and .museums tech News Bulletin News tech Resources Week In http://www.zdnet.com.au/newstech/news/story/0,2000025345,20106430,00.htm
Extractions: ICANN is considering whether the existing well-known address extensions such as .com, .net, .org, .gov and .edu should be joined by dozen of others that have been suggested like .travel, .union, .post and .sex. World-wide organisations for postal services, co-operatives, labour unions, airlines, transportation and health are applying. It will be ICANN's first big decision on how the Web is organised since receiving its charter in 1998 from the US government as part of an effort to give the world a say in designing the Internet's critically important address system. ICANN got off to a slow start, but is finally taking over some of the responsibilities of Network Solutions which had previously enjoyed a government-granted monopoly. ICANN's board of 19, including five chosen in an election in which 34,000 Web users voted from around the world, will get staff recommendations on the suffixes by the time it meets November 13-16. The open question is whether ICANN will be up to the job of fairly representing the Internet's myriad interests.
