WIND User's Guide - Keyword Reference, HISTORY shf, Specific heat of formation, chemistry. Note that this is probably the onlytime that a time history variable of x, y, or z makes sense, as they can be http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/winddocs/user/keywords/history.html
Extractions: f ] REGION nzn ibeg iend jbeg jend kbeg kend REGION nzn NODE nodenum REGION nzn CELL cellnum ... ENDHISTORY For unsteady flow problems, the HISTORY keyword block allows the user to track the temporal evolution of variables at discrete specified points. The specified flow quantities are written to a common time history ( .cth ) file every f iterations. Upon completion of a time history run, the auxiliary program thplt may be used to analyze the data and/or to create a GENPLOT file that may then be plotted using CFPOST . [Because of changes to the format of the .cth file, the timplt utility used to analyze .cth files created by WIND 5.51 and earlier will not work with .cth files created by the current WIND code.] The .cth file contains reference and scaling data. Thus, when thplt is used to create a GENPLOT file, the time history variables will be dimensional. For the results to be strictly valid, all zones must run with the same time step and with one iteration per cycle. However, in recognition that this is not always feasible, this capability can be used with only the stipulation that the zone(s) in which temporal evolution information is desired be run with a constant time step.

Bill Keel's Research Pages - Chemistry At High Redshifts chemistry of highredshift galaxies. The history of this material can, to some extent,be picked up as but undetectable H-beta, in a Lyman-break galaxy at z=3.0. http://www.astr.ua.edu/keel/research/zhiz.html
Extractions: Related information on ages of high-redshift galaxies Motivation: With abundant evidence that the overall star-formation rate has changed with cosmic time, we expect to see low abundances of heavy elements in the early Universe, before most stars had formed, much less been able to enrich their surroundings with processed elements. In principle, abundances give us a new way to trace the overall history of star formation , one which could be important to the history and heating of both the intracluster and intergalactic media. The relation to star-formation history may not be trivial, since there is good reason to believe that outflows were common in many galaxies early on in their evolution. This implies that some enriched material has left the galaxies and no longer participates in their internal star/gas cycling. The history of this material can, to some extent, be picked up as part of the ICM. Approaches: Our favorite ways of measuring chemical abundances, using absorption-line strengths and modelling of stellar atmospheres, usually in whole populations, won't work at great distances. The systems are very faint for absorption-line work, and the familiar emitted optical spectral regime is shifted into the near-infrared so that the ground-based sky background becomes very bright. We can, however, use several more or less direct approaches to see whether high-redshift galaxies really do have lower metal abundances than their nearby counterparts.

Extractions: Three-year Bachelor's program details The three-year Bachelor's program in the Faculty of Chemistry comprises 5 semesters of obligatory courses for all students and one semester (VI), during which students select courses from so-called modules. Choices are made after consulting the student's scientific counsellor. The first period (semesters: I-V) is devoted to various chemistry subjects on the basic level. Obligatory subjects during this period include: Subject Teaching hours Mathematics Physics General chemistry Analytical chemistry Organic chemistry Quantum chemistry Physical chemistry Inorganic chemistry Molecular spectroscopy Nuclear chemistry Crystallography Biochemistry Computer laboratory Chemical technology including repetition courses Bachelor program students have to take additional 60 hours of non-chemistry subjects in other Warsaw University faculties. The list of courses is available from the Dean's Office for Students Affairs. The choice of the courses is entirely arbitrary. In order to help students establish their schedule the following courses have been organized in our Faculty: "
