As we roll into September it will be impossible, regardless of what country you live in, to avoid the television coverage of the one year anniversary of September 11th. Many people I know are choosing o not turn on their television sets that day and will instead remember in their own way with their families. There is no right and wrong and as with the actual event, people will deal with the memories in their own way. This month brings two incredibly simple lunch box ideas for the back to school kids. Take a look and get some simple new ideas! This month we have an article on a great new product that is on the market today. This isn't a huge company but a man with a great idea. It's marketed for children but I think it would be a great idea for anyone in the family . Do check out the section on Medi-Kid Safety Insoles and see what I mean.

Extractions: Returning to school after a long summer vacation can be a major adjustment for young children, just like starting a new job or moving to another town is for adults. There are new routines and rhythms to get used to. There are new classmates and new teachers to size up. There's the not-so-simple matter of learning to sit still after months of climbing, biking, and swimming. Fortunately, parents can make the transition easier. A little preparation and a few simple exercises can help children get into shape, mentally and emotionally, for a new academic year. The good news for parents of young children is that most are already anxious for school to start by the time late August rolls around. The few who aren't so eager can learn to work through their back-to-school jitters, which are normal, especially for children who have moved to new cities or have undergone other disruptions.

Extractions: School lunches may sometimes be a headache but they need never be boring. And your school-age kids will say thanks for the memories of terrific, exciting, surprising lunches both delicious and nutritious. With the Food Pyramid as a guide, creativity as a muse and wholesome convenience products as labor-saving devices, you'll be a hero (and we don't mean sandwich). Not your ordinary sandwich Because sandwiches take center stage in the school lunchbox, all the more reason to make them more than S.O.S. (Same Old Sandwich). The sandwich offers the perfect opportunity to supply at least two servings from the bottom and biggest level of the Food Pyramid: the grains group. Think sandwich bread not just in white, but rye, whole wheat, multigrain, pumpernickel, sourdough, cinnamon-raisin and more. Beyond sliced bread there are Kaiser rolls, onion rolls, baguettes, whole-wheat hamburger and hot dog buns, rye buns and English muffins. Halved bagels and bialys make fine sandwiches. So does split focaccia. Pitas are perfect for stuffing, and flat breads such as lavash and flour tortillas make great wraps. The sandwich is also a wonderful way to add a serving from other levels of the pyramid: the fruit, vegetable and dairy groups, and the protein group that includes meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dry beans and nuts. A few sandwich ideas:
