2 GODS NOW ASK DANA TO FIND A KEY
Librarian Dana Steele draws the short straw and begins her quest for the KEY OF KNOWLEDGE. She has one month to succeed or the entire mission fails. Though she knows that at some point she will go it alone, her allies help her, but especially Jordan Hawke. She loved him once, but he left her without a look back. Jordan is now willing to die to keep his beloved safe. Kane is willing to accommodate Jordan, but killing Dana is an option.

Fast pace Romantic fantasy.Recommended.

Doesn't Live Up To The First Book In The Series
This book was not as good as the first in the trilogy.Dana was an annoying character who couldn't get over the fact that her heart was broken by the man she loved when she was 20.When Jordan walks back into her life eight years later, she is determined to hate him and keep him at a distance. Unfortunately, most of the story is about her trying to avoid Jordan and get him out of her system.

The plot about searching for the key to unlock the souls of the goddesses seemed to be an afterthought.Dana spends most of her time searching through books with the word "key" or "goddess" in the title, hoping the key will fall out of one of them.Throw in a few events with Kane, the evil god and that pretty much sums up the entire plot.This book is necessary to read if you want to finish the series, but not worth keeping on the shelf.

Good, but not NR's best
Even though this is the 2nd book in the 'Key' trilogy, Key of Knowledge can be easily read as a stand-alone because Dana, the heroine, gives a pretty good - and funny - recapitulation of what happened in the 1st book, Key of Light. That said, I still recommend reading this series in order, as you get a better understanding of how things work in this PNR realm created by NR.

That certainly helped me to guess where the key Dana was assigned to find was hidden, because the pattern had already been established in the previous book. I had it all figured out pretty soon, and it was only Dana's stubbornness and blind eye about all things involving Jordan, the hero, that prevented her from getting it too. There was a twist in the end that shifted the pattern a bit, so it was nice to be surprised and see that not everything was predictable.

As for the romantic part of the story, Dana and Jordan had good chemistry and I enjoyed reading their scenes together. Theirs was a "lovers-reunited" kind of story, and this plotline doesn't always work for me - I mean, if you couldn't make your relationship work the 1st time around, why rehash it? - but I think NR did a good job showing why their 1st time together wasn't meant to be and how they needed to go their separate ways - Jordan being the one who had left - before getting back together for good.

As it happened in Key of Light, there's a lot of talk about symbolism, coincidences and fate in this book too. All interesting, but I confess my eyes started to glaze during some parts. Thankfully, those scenes were minor bumps in a story that, as a whole, flew quite smoothly.

I love Nora Roberts'trilolgies
Nora does it again.Her Born in Trilogy is one of my favorite of her trilogies.In this first book you meet the characters and you see the story begin to unfold.You begin to discover which characters you love and which ones you hate.She is so good at describing her characters you feel like you actually know these people, she is wonderful.I also love how she spends one entire book focusing on one character and their world in its self.Her characters are rich in style and passion.In this first one we meet and discover Maggie and Rogan, they come from two totally different worlds and although her attitude towards Rogan is like a rollercoaster ride all the way through the book you can't help but admire her strength to hold on to her independants, even though in the end you know she will fall in love with him.I loved how for all that fighting for independance in the end it was pointless... she was completely love with him.

READ SOME TIME AGO BUT BOUGHT THE TRILOGY BECAUSE OF READING THE FIRST BOOK. HARD TO GO WRONG WITH NORA ROBERTS.

One of Roberts' best
I was not familiar with Nora Roberts when I read this book and the companion, Born in Ice. I've since started reading all the books my library has available. The story telling was excellent and kept me enthralled into the wee hours.

Waste of a read!
I was given this and Born in Ice by my mother in law, who thought I would enjoy reading novels set in Ireland, where I am from - I cringed through reading this book, the use of dialect was nothing more than Shakespearean Irish - if Nora Roberts actually visited Ireland, I would like to know where she found the characters that actually spoke like this at all - it was an infuriating mix of the country woman, Maggie, speaking old Irish and the main love interest, Rogan, speaking as Irish people speak today.The storyline was a good premise for a novel of glass artist Maggie meeting up with city art dealer Rogan, however, if you are going to write about a country that is not your native own, steer away from the stereotypical tourist imagery and be realistic.Needless to say, I did not bother reading Born in Ice and both copies went to a Salvation Army store.

Born in Fire
As a reader who most often prefers historical romance, I was skeptical when my bookseller urged me to read Born In Fire, the first of a trilogy set in modern Ireland. I have often said that I can only enter the fantasy world romance offers when the time and place is long ago and far away. Well, I was wrong, at least in terms of the time. But the place, well, Nora's Irish setting, both in Dublin and County Clare, offered me a wonderful fantasy world, and that's due to her phenomenal skill as the creator of characters and story-lines.

Born In Fire is the story of Margaret Mary Concannon, a brilliant and tormented artist whose medium is glass. After the death of her beloved father, she is determined to live her life alone. After all, while she loves her sweet sister Brianna, she had seen no love between her parents, and her mother despises her very being.

In walks Rogan Sweeney, wealthy and handsome gallery owner. He wants to make her a star. He sees in her art something he must possess, and he soon comes to see that in her as well. Like the water and hot glass that form her art, Maggie and Rogan are destined to be together, even though it's going to take him some time and finesse to convince her.

In a nice change of pace, it is not Rogan who is the tormented soul. No, that distinction belongs to Maggie, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The manner in which the author describes her torment is heart-wrenching. The manner in which the author uses that torment to fuel Maggie's art is beautiful. I had no trouble seeing in my mind's eye the works of art Maggie created, and when Rogan assists Maggie on a particular piece, I felt I was in the room with them.

The imagery used by Nora Roberts to describe not only the art Maggie creates but the process as well is incredibly well done, and these were the scenes that put the book over the top for me. Maggie's creativity, Rogan's commanding persona, along with his comforting patience made a devastating combination.

The cast of secondary characters only added to the richness of the story, and there's at least one small yet strong secondary love story for readers to savor. What especially appealed to me about Maggie's mother was in the lack of resolution of their battles, which rang true to life - after all, not everything can be tied in a package with a neat little bow. Maggie's sister Brianna was more difficult for me to care about and seemed too much like a doormat, but whether that's because I was seeing her through Maggie's eyes or because Brianna becomes stronger in the second book of the trilogy, I am not certain.

I am certain that Margaret Mary and Rogan's love was definitely born in fire, but that Rogan's patience and skill will allow the fire not to consume them in a quick fit of passion but to burn slowly for the rest of their lives. This is one wonderful hero! I greatly anticipate the next books in the series and can only hope that Brianna finds a man who completes her as well as Maggie did.

Novel to complete my set
Thanks for being able to have the book that I needed to complete my trilogy set.

Better than expected!
This story was not what I expected at all.Very good character development and suspense. I think you have to be a fan of the paranormal to truly enjoy this story though. I do agree that Phil Gigante does an excellent job narrating. Very challenging to have to do the voices of so many women on audio.
More suspense than romance. (Which made me happy) If you're a fan of fictitious stories involving vampires, ghosts or demons, you're sure to like this book.

Sign of Seven Pt. I
Nora Roberts never fails to deliver a terrific story.I was unnerved on several occasions while reading this book.Loved how it ended.I highly recommend as a great beach read.Blood Brothers (Sign of Seven Trilogy, Book 1)

Not a must read
I hate giving such a low review but I did take it up from my original thought of a 1 star. My main issue with this series and it is my second reading of them to be fair, is the lack of character development and just how cliched this book seems to be. I found that the "connection" between the female leads was way too trite. This is sad because typically one of the most appealing elements of a Nora Roberts book can be the friendships of female characters. Honestly it seemed that the female lead in this book was not likable. Yes we all have the battle of the bulge but the constant half slice of pizza and beyond annoying "Cyb" and the corresponding "Q" where enough to make me certain I would have cheerfully taken the side of who or whatever opposed them. I don't think strong, confident and young must mean over the top in your face. Bear in mind I am a mother of 3 young women. 2 of whom are black belts in a very intense martial art form and the other ready to attend graduate school. I want young strong female characters in books, it would just be nice if they were likable and not annoying.
As the first book lays the foundation for the remaining two do not expect this series to progress and develop beyond what is laid out here. There is resolution but the subsequent books do not give any growth in the writing.
I am a Nora Roberts fan and have a few favorites of hers that are my go to when I just want to relax mentally. This book and series are not in that class.

Stephen King's It...by Nora Roberts
I was a little frustrated when I started reading Blood Brothers.It absolutely screamed Stephen King's It to me.The evil that awakens periodically in a small town causing townspeople to act in a crazy manner.Three adolescents stop it the first time and now as adults need to stop it a final time...yeah, that pretty much sums up It.Nora Roberts adds a few elements, the boys are born on the same day at the same time and have a shared ancestor.The female characters aren't from the town, they just are drawn to it for their own reasons.There is a mystical element different from the one found in It, dark and white magic, which will be a familiar concept to Nora's regular readers.

My second take on the series was even more frustrating.As noted by another reviewer, this is a reworking of her 3 Sisters Island Trilogy.I won't go into the details, but she basically switched the main characters genders from female to male and then changed the evil entity in the series from a disembodied evil that possesses those who are inherently bad to one who is able to manifest itself and feeds off the evil actions of others.

Roberts even names a female character Quinn, the surname of the main characters in the Quinn Brothers Trilogy!The entire time I was reading this, I kept associating the name Quinn with a male character.

Nora Roberts novels usually follow a similar formula, but they are usually...well...NOVEL.There are interesting concepts regarding personalities and situations that make each new book a fun new world to explore.Unfortunately this does not happen in this series.If I'd never read It or the Three Sisters Island Trilogy, I would peg this series as a fun, light read, if a little light on female character development.As I have read the other books, I simply feel...meh. ... Loved this trilogy!
Once I started this trilogy I didnt want to put the books down and then when I got to the last one I didnt want it to end.I love Nora Roberts and this series was a great one!

Solid Romance with a Haunted Twist
Over one hundred years ago, a young woman on the brink of insanity...or just beyond it...disappeared without a trace. Her ghost haunts the house and grounds of the Harper household and has for as long as anyone alive can remember. Most who have seen or heard her speak of the care she shows to the children of the house, singing lullabies to the young and offering a comforting presence to young mothers. But there is a darkness, too, and when lullabies become edged in madness and comfort turns to terror, a group of family and friends must ban together to find out who their ghost is, where she is, if they have any hope of surviving her wrath.

Rosalind Harper is a strong, independent, mature woman. Some of my favorite romance reading of all time has been various Roberts' trilogies. I love how she weaves interesting and sympathetic characters who are easy to fall for into an overall arc that spans three books, while maintaining a level of storytelling that supports each book individually. She truly is a master at that impressive feat.

I'm particularly fond of lead character Roz Harper, a woman of advancing age, within spitting distance of fifty, with concerns and attentions suited to her age and her milieu. She's got an ex-husband who's a rake and a snake, and she's forced to deal with him, though it goes against her grain to do so in the manner in which it is forced. She doesn't break under pressure of ghost or male ego, and holds close to her heart those she considers friends and family. As a character, she's the epitome of grace and cool southern charm...with just enough fiery temper to keep her from being too Stepford.

While I am known for having a fondness for damaged characters who rise above their personal demons to wage battle against the forces of darkness, I admit I found Roz's well-balanced, independent nature both an admirable and welcome change. She's got a steel spine with pleasant touches of softness for contrast and depth, and she approaches problems with a keen mind and determination. I couldn't help but like her. And respect her. Mitch was a charming counterpoint. A man who is aware of his demons and admits to his past mistakes as he takes responsibility for them. He's a good man, honest and hard working, with the confidence to appreciate a woman of strength without the games and machinations so often seen in younger couples.

Their relationship sparks and simmers, developing slowly but sweetly along with the plot threads of the Harper Bride, who shows her nasty side in all its freaky glory more than once, and the ex-husband, who's a sleaze of the first order. There are ancillary plot threads of extended family that also add to the mix. Together, the plot develops with solid pacing and depth, each aspect complementing the other and building off each other nicely.

Knowing that this was the second book in the trilogy helped assuage the impatience to get the answers to Amelia's past, and Roberts takes time to provide glimpses of her history and add some truly atmospheric creepiness to her haunting ways. As a result, Amelia is just as well rounded...if definitely unbalanced...a character as the living members of the book.

My only complaint...well...not really a complaint, more as a dissatisfied observation, with this book in particular and the series as a whole is that the characters all seem a little too perfect, a little lacking in flaws and insecurities and peccadilloes. They all make noises about their hang ups - Roz's temper and stubbornness, Mitch's tendency to be messy and forgetful, etc., but in the end, they're all just a little too perfect, always doing the right thing at the right time in the right way. It's a little disconcerting. And not always the easiest thing to relate to. I think that's why, despite the fact that I liked the book quite a lot, I never actually connected to it on a personal level, and why, though I admired Roz and had quite a lot of affection for Mitch, I was never completely invested in their relationship or the continuing saga of the Harper Bride. Not enough to be rabidly enthusiastic of it, anyway.

I liked it, though. Quite a bit. And anyone who enjoys romance mixed with haunted houses and a centuries-old mystery and a lot of horticulture will probably enjoy it, too.

I Love this book which is the second in a series and can't wait to get the next book.Was not a big fan of Ms. Roberts but love this series.

Nora's floral banaza!
I realize these are some of her older writings, but I'm recently retired and just now reading a lot.I started with Blue Dahlia and couldn't put it down.I found someone who was willing to part with the next two in the three book series, Red Lily and Black Rose.I just couldn't stop reading.I enjoyed them because they were suspenseful and sexy without being embarrassingly gross like some of Eve Dallas's escapades by JD Robb. They don't always have to be slutty to be good.

Sometimes the Thorns Are As Interesting As the Flower
I should admit I'm not a big-time romance reader, so when I say I've never seen something in a romance before it doesn't carry as much weight as if I'd read a whole ton instead of three or four dozen (a pittance in this vast and varied genre!).That said?I love _Black Rose_, and a lot of what I love about it are the things that make it different from many, many books on the shelves beside it.

My favorite thing of all was Roz Harper.Whether you enjoy Roz or can't stand her will probably determine whether you like the book or not, because it's Roz's story from start to finish.As established in the first book, _Blue Dahlia_, Roz is the mistress of Harper House and the owner of In the Garden Nursery, a relatively new, growing business that turns one of the loves of Roz's life--gardening--into her full-time profession.Roz's other loves are her three grown sons, her home, and her deceased husband John Ashby.There isn't much room for self-doubt in Roz; there isn't much fear, even when the ghost with whom she's shared her home all her life changes from peaceful curiosity to a violent threat.

Since I'd never read a romance with a lead female past her childbearing years and with a loving marriage and family already behind her, I was fascinated by the difference in Roz's attitude--she's not concerned at all with finding that Special Someone and certainly not with who will father her children.That ship has sailed.She doesn't need a man's love or desire to reinforce her self-esteem.Roz has plenty of self-esteem, to the point where it may work against her for some readers, but I loved that she loves herself and has no shame about being herself.Roz has money and privilege and uses them to indulge her personality.It's fun to see what she'll do, knowing worry will never make her choices for her.

Compared to the force of Roz's personality, the ongoing ghost plot with Amelia (the backbone of the trilogy) takes a backseat.The quest to learn Amelia's fate is what brings Mitchell Carnegie into Roz's life:a respected genealogist, Mitchell may know nothing about annuals and perennials but he's a master of family trees.Yet it won't be until _Red Lily_ that Amelia occupies center stage, and by that time Nora Roberts gets to be pretty heavy-handed with her--here the ghostly mystery is still mostly mystery.

There's just one thing about _Black Rose_ I found kind of weak.And as with its predecessor--strange though it is--that's the romantic pairing.I liked Roz and Mitchell very much as friends and didn't find their love affair as unlikely as Stella and Logan's, but Mitchell fades into the background a lot more than strong, dynamic Roz does, and he just didn't seem to match up to her.I wish he'd been a little more lively and interesting.On the other hand, I liked that he accepted Roz as she is (mostly) and didn't decide that because he loves her he has the right to take control of her life.That's different from other romances I've read, too.Unfortunately.

This is the best book of a rather good Nora Roberts trilogy.Start with _Blue Dahlia_, then if you like that, enjoy _Black Rose_--the fun, fast, engaging story of a truly colorful woman. ... Read more

A Classic Of Roberts
The death of her father took Willa Mercy by surprise - he hadn't even told her he was sick. Finding out that the cold man who she'd tried her entire life to please had left a will that took away the home she'd grown up in and the ranch she'd worked on for her entire life and split it between herself and two half-sisters she'd never even met, demanding that to get anything, they all had to live together on Mercy ranch for a year, is a betrayal that she can't even process. Then, still reeling from that affront, Willa stumbles across the butchered carcass of one of her cattle. And the only animal who would do something like that...is man. As three strangers struggle with each other and the legacy of the unbending, frigid man who was their father, a psychotic killer stalks Mercy and threatens them all.

It was 1997 when I first read Montana Sky. I'd never read anything quite like it, and it turned me on to the exquisite blend of romance and suspense and mystery that Roberts is so acclaimed at writing. Since then, I've read almost every book Roberts has published, regardless of genre.

Montana Sky is, at its core, a story about the bonds of family - those shared through blood and those born and nurtured through affection, dedication, and love. Three sisters first meet, then spark off each other as they start to know each other, eventually like each other...mostly, then love each other - unquestionably. As those tentative family bonds are laid, so too are the bonds with three impressive men who love them. It's heartwarming and horrifying at turns, and despite its age, has a timelessness that keeps it from feeling dated. It's still one of my favorites of Roberts, despite having a few issues with it as a whole.

It's quite long, first of all, and despite Roberts using that length to develop every aspect of the plot sufficiently, I still felt like there were some parts that could have been trimmed down and streamlined in the plot and in the narrative. A few superfluous scenes bogged down the pacing from time to time. I would have also preferred to have Willa and Ben be the sole romance, as the relationships between Adam and Lily and Tess and Nate were quite clearly not the focus of the story and weren't given enough room to really expand into three dimensions, either. And despite the fact that Willa and Ben's relationship is the backbone of the romantic aspects in the book, the conclusion of that relationship arc felt a little less satisfying than those of Lily and Tess and their loves. That's personal preference and opinion, of course.

Despite those few issues, Montana Sky is a compelling, sweeping saga - still a compelling and sweeping saga, actually, and is rich and decadent with the benefits of Roberts' lyricism of prose and her unparalleled ability to draw a reader into the scenes of the book so completely that you can smell the snow on the mountain peaks after a blizzard and feel the trickle of sweat down your spine when the characters are stringing the fences. I loved revisiting this book after so many years and so many fond Roberts' memories.

A caution to sensitive readers: there are scenes that dip into the deranged psychosis of a killer's mind and detail the savagery of his crimes - not to gruesome levels (though that's subjective), but definitely far more than just glossing over them. This is not simply a contemporary romance and does have brutally dark edges more commonly found in romantic suspense or thrillers. It may be too graphic in some places for some readers.

Another great NR
I loved this book! Purchased it out of curiosity for something other than an ID book (NR writing as JD Robb). I don't regret buying it at all. I just wish the minor character's personal lives were developed even more than they were. And the end, while still satisfying to reach a circle point for the story line, with a bit more development, it could have been better. Still, overall, an excellent book & a great Nora read.

Well written but too bloody for me
Once again Robert's storytelling ability is wonderful but this book was too violent for my tastes. Also I find it a little unbelievable that Ben and Willa are having this incredible and tender sex and still don't realize how they feel about each other.Maybe the sex should have come a little later in the book between these two.Nonetheless Roberts is as ever fab.

Montana Sky
This was my first Nora Roberts novel. I chose it after seeing the Lifetime movie version and figured there was a lot more to the story.I love the Montana area and that was a big draw. I like her style of writing. Her characters have a lot of witty banter and humor to them.This particular story is pretty gruesome though. I understand from other reviews that she generally isn't. The love scenes were intense and passionate if you like that sort of thing. I enjoyed it enough to pick up Northern Lights by her as well.

Another fave!
'Jewels of the Sun' and 'Tears of the Moon' (books 1 and 2 of the Gallagher series) are among my favorite NR books. They are both full of characters I wish I knew and places I'd love to visit. I finished the books feeling that I'd lived a short time in an Irish village!

I loved the characters of Shawn and Brenna. It was fun to watch them move from a lifelong friendship into a great love story. The struggle of meshing Shawn, the sensitive artist, with the no-nonsense, no-frills Brenna was realistic, often funny, sometimes heartbreaking, and very right. It takes them a while to figure out how much they each need the qualities of the other, even when it makes them crazy. As in Book 1, the secondary characters are well written, interesting, and give depth to the story. My favorite of this trilogy!

Nice Romance with a touch of fantasy.Wonderful.
I had always thought Nora Roberts probably wrote those romantic books that were so mushy and treacly that you were ill by the end of it.Instead I found a writer that mixed romance with humor and a dash of fantasy.Total fun.I found I could not put this book down and I recommend it for anyone who likes "romance lite".It is the second in the Irish or Gallagher Trilogy and I recommend starting with the first book, Jewel of the Sun.

I am a reader, i read every type of books and magazines. But in Nora Roberts' High Noon, i found all my favorite things. Mystery, Romance, Drama, Passion, Family and Love. that book includes something for every body. if you love the bad boy there is a careless ex-husband,a chauvinistic police officer, and an avenging lover boy. there is the romantic multimillionaire, the lawyer best friends there is also something that make the book more relate-able to real life and even though there is a happy ending it is not like a fairytale.

High Noon
I really liked the book. I bought the book on tape and Susan Erikson does a fabulous job as the reader. I'm a huge J.D. Robb fan and this had a similar "feel" to it.

There was a lot of action in this book. More drama than romance. And a lot of boring stuff too. The story is more centered around Phoebe's job than Duncan, unfortunately. I loved Duncan, and wanted to read more about them together.

The dialogue was something that I couldn't ignore. I disliked it. It was kind of annoying the way they talked. Who talks like that?

Big disappointment
I am a HUGE Nora Roberts fan, but this was my least favorite of her books. A majority of the book involves long, detailed, drawn-out descriptions of the main character in hostage negotiation sequences. Although I usually enjoy Roberts' detail and her ability to create a sharp image in my mind of the story's events, in this book I became bored and impatient with all of the detail. The story line was unusually predictable and tedious.I'm glad this wasn't the first Nora Roberts book I read as it probably would have been my last. I'll be re-reading some of my Roberts' favorites to get this one out of my head.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
It's been a while since I've read a Nora Roberts book, but I'm so glad I bought this one. It's one of the best books I've read in a good while. I like Cilla and I've fallen in love with Ford. OMG! Every woman's dream! I especially enjoyed following Cilla through the rehab of her famous grandmother's farm house. Roberts made me feel as though I had a hammer and nails in my hands, working on it myself. Congratulations to fellow North Carolina writer, Nora Roberts, on another successful novel.

Good not great
If you like Nora's other books then you will want to read this one. I enjoyed Ford the most, I just liked his humor. I didn't care overmuch for Cilla, she seemed a little too whimpy for me. I read all of her books atleast once just so I don't sit around wondering "What is the book like?" but other than that this one will not go on my "must read again" list.

Loved it!
I absolutely LOVED 'Tribute'. It was smart, it was funny and is now on my list of absolute favorite books. Nora Roberts is so easy to read and you get completely lost in her books. I must admit to peeking at the end to see who the "bad guy" was! I read the book so fast because I couldn't put it down so I will read it again in a couple months...I loved the characters, especially how she made the dog "human" and used slang so current, it sounded like a real conversation....and not forced. Nora Roberts is an unbelievably talented writer.

OK story, bad ending
I agree with the other book reviews that state that many, many pages could have been edited, I don't think the story was boring.This is my first Nora Roberts book and I actually really liked the characters though and the story line.I thought the writting was witty.The end could have been better.There were so many loose ends!As a reader I was left wondering what happened to the characters?What happened to the bad guys?What about Steve? It left me feeling like I was owed a resolution.

Kind of disappointing end to the trilogy
This final installment in the 'Key' trilogy was the weakest for me. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't have read all 3 books in a row, because reading about the tale of the 3 demigoddesses' souls trapped in a box of glass and how 3 mortal women, the heroines, were destined to find the keys to release them got a bit stale this time around. It was pretty much the same basic thing all over again, and neither Zoe nor Brad, the couple du jour, was compelling enough to engage my full interest.

I admit I didn't like Zoe very much from the glimpses I had on the previous books, Key of Light and Key of Knowledge: she came across like this "wonder woman", larger than life and independent to the point of being too stubborn. Unfortunately, my impression didn't change after reading this book and there was a time or two when I wanted to give her a good shake to make her see reason. Her reluctance to accept Brad's love was justifiable in the beginning - after all, single mothers are, or should be, wary when considering a new romantic relationship - but I though she dragged it a little too long. If Brad was a "shady" character, I could understand it, but no...

Brad was the handsome, honest millionaire with a heart of gold, no flaws and not a single skeleton in the closet. He fell fast and hard for Zoe and, bonus points here, he also adored her son Simon. The ultimate "good guy", he was perfection in flesh and bone, there was absolutely nothing wrong with him... and I couldn't care less about him. Would I love to have a guy like him in real life? Sure! But that kind of hero doesn't work for me in Romancelandia, I'm sorry to say. Hmm, maybe that's why Zoe took so long to fall for him, LOL.

As for the search for Zoe's key, it was obvious - for me, not for Zoe - that the answer was linked to her accepting Brad's love, so the mystery part of the story didn't add much spark to make this an engrossing read. I was kind of bored halfway through the book, since neither the romance nor the mystery was thrilling. It's somewhat funny: I liked the mystery but not the romance in Key of Light, liked the romance but not the mystery in Key of Knowledge, and didn't like either the romance or the mystery in Key of Valor. Not exactly the combo I wanted.

Since this was the 3rd and last book in the series, it ends with a nice scene featuring only the 3 heroines in order to give closure to the whole quest for the keys. While I understood the reason behind the way NR chose to end the story, I was left feeling that Zoe and Brad were "cheated": I would have liked to see them in a special one-on-one final scene, the same way their friends had in the previous books. And that was the final nail in the coffin for me...

Last book in the Key series by Nora Roberts
I had read Key of Light, Key of Knowledge, and had to have Key of Valor, to complete the series by Nora Roberts. It was just as interesting as the other two books, and I'm looking forward purchasing more of her work. Great author!

Key of Valor
The third installment in the key series is focused on Zoe McCourt and Bradley Vane's story. Zoe is a single mother, and she has had to struggle to raise her son. She was an unwed teenage mother who was abandoned by her first love James Marshall. As Zoe gets to know Bradley, she is horrified to see the similarities between he and James. It becomes obvious that to get close to the third key, Zoe must get over her trust issues, and rely on Bradley to help her. As in the past books, Kane becomes even more evil, and lives end up hanging in the balance.

A very good conclusion to the Key series. The male/female relationships were done well, but what outshined those, was the relationship that developed between the three women. Dana, Malory, and Zoe were all very different women with different life experiences, but instead of the differences being a hindrance, those differences strengthened their bond. Great books
I have read almost all of Nora Robert's books and I have to say that this trilogy was my absolute favorite.I have re-read these books over and over again.I love the first two books but the 3rd (Valley of Silence) is my absolute favorite.I love Cian and Moira's story and the way the story ends is great.I absolutely recommend this trilogy to any Nora Robert's fan.

I was interested in purchasing the kindle. Until I realized not all book titles are available in Canada! For example, The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts. I can get the first two but not the third and final book? The first two are kind of pointless without the final book, don't you think?

A worthy trilogy
I had to finish the 3rd book, because I had to know how it ended.I was pleased with the unpredictability of the end.

WONDERFUL STORY
I bought the first two books at a second hand store, and i just had to get the third! from the first page in the first book to the last page in the third book, I couldn't put these books down until they were finished.

Cannot wait!
I am anxiously awaiting the next book to arrive.The characters are very well written.

Caution, let's be clear
These are two really great, interesting to read, Nora Roberts novels. However, the caution is in the matter... that hopefully all who enjoy these novels would realize they need to investigate carefully the fact of reissues. At least this reissue lists the original titles in the editorial description and on the back of the book. Both stories were originally two books issued in 1988 and then issued together in 2004 under the title' Born O'Hurley`. Now they are available for at least the 3rd time as, "O'Hurley Born`.So the caution stands if you have read this series before or have been a faithful reader of Nora Roberts for years - you might have read these before.

`The Last Honest Woman' opens with the birth of the O'Hurley triplets. It conveys all the joy and enthusiasm of this entertaining Irish family; then jumps years forward to Abby, who is now widowed. She has decided to give permission for a book to be written about her race car driver husband and thus Dylan enters her life. This is different in the respect that unlike many other romance novels where the couple usually fall in love, have big problems, break up, get back together. There is a slow sweetness here.

In `Dance to the Piper' we meet another one of the sisters, the dancer - Maddy. We get to see the sweat and work and joy of a Broadway show. Those descriptions are done well. The romance is a roller coaster ride that is really enjoyable to read, and also a bit of a mystery in why the man - Reed Valentine does not want to get involved.

These are two nice romance novels to read- well written. I just hope no one buys this book thinking they are new and finds out they have read them before.

Great read
Can't wait to read the next release. I know these are re-releases, but I don't remember reading them. There are a lot of younger readers who have never read Nora Roberts. They are in for a real treat with this series.

Careful: Not a new novel!
This is not a new book, which I only found out when I looked at the very small print that said that this had been published in 'Remember when'. When I took a closer look at 'Remember when', I saw that what the publisher calls 'Hot Rocks' is simply the first half of that novel. The second has been published as 'Big Jack' under Nora Roberts' pseudonym J. D. Robb. Since you can get 'Remember when' at about the same price as one of the two halves would cost on its own, I would definitely recommend not buying those single volumes. The original book is good, but this is a rip-off.

I have read 90% of NR books
Like the title says I have read 90%, if not more, of Nora Roberts books. This Trilogy has to be my all time favorite!!! I highly recommend the series and I hope you love them as much as I did.

Good Good Good
They were very quick to deliver and the merchandise was is very good shape. You couldn't even tell it was used.

So much fun!
I've been reading Nora Roberts for a while, some I've loved and some not. I loved the Circle trilogy. The character development was great. By book 3, I loved the six main characters so much that I hated for the series to end. The jumps between times and worlds was very well done and allowed for a lot of depth to the characters and their relationships. It was very action packed, with a touch of 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer' thrown in for good measure. There was a nice blend of humor, romance, and action, with a strong good-vs.-evil theme. What's not to love?!?

I loved this set
OK so they may be a little predictable but I didn't care. Once I started reading the first book I was hooked until I was done with the last book, and when I was finished reading the Valley of Silence I was kinda sad there was no more to read. I fell in love with the characters. Now if youre into dark vampire stories like Anita Blake ( I thought A B was OK) this prolly is not the set for you. I passed these onto my mom and she loved them as well.

A go-to book for romantics
I am on my second copy of this book; I wore out the first from reading it over and over again! Nora Roberts does not disappoint with her vivid descriptions of the colorful McGregor family and the people who are lucky enough to love them. I wish this series could keep going on, one book right after another, because this is a family that I will never get tired of reading about.

Some of Nora's best...
I haven't enjoyed many of the more recent books by Nora Roberts (other than her In Death series written as JD Robb). Her older books based on families (such as the MacGregors), as well as her older trilogies, are some of her best work (in my humble opinion). She brings these families, the characters, and their relationships to life, making the reader feel that they're actually a part of the family. The plot of both of the stories in this book were interesting and fast-paced. The tension and developing relationship between the hero and heroine were perfectly written, making us cheer when both couples finally worked everything out in the end. An enjoyable read all the way around. I'm looking forward to digging up more of her backlist. :)

Pleasant 2 short stories, a bit boring
After the glowing reviews, I bought the book and while it was a pleasant read, I found the stories too predictable and a bit boring.I liked the detailed descriptions of the Las Vegas setting of the first story.The two stories only have a few characters in common, but not much else.

Fun, quirky, and will make your heart smile.
Following my first Nora Roberts' book "Dancing in the moonlight", I picked up this book. The two stories in this book are heart-felt, funny, inspiring (yes, it's possible to be inspired while reading a romance novel), and "The Winning Hand" is possibly my favorite story among all of Nora Roberts' books. It's about a young mid-western girl named Darcy Wallace, who won a jackpot upon coming to Las Vegas. She went on a winning streak, from winning the lottery to winning the heart of the man who owns the hotel-casino. Roberts entertains you and makes you laugh along the journey that Darcy Wallace took, once you realized how cute and personal Darcy is. Been there, done that, only darker
I've read 5 NR trilogies to date. Most have been good, my favorites being the Circle trilogy and the Gallaghers of Ardmore. The Sign of Seven trilogy to me was a reincarnation of the Circle trilogy, only much darker and more graphic. The relationships in these stories were less believable, less interesting, and often tedious. As I've seen other reviewers say, I too skimmed over much of the detail, particularly in book 3. I'm glad I got it from the library and didn't buy it!

A somewhat satisfying conclusion to a decent series.
"The Pagan Stone", the final book in the "Sign of the Seven" series, centers around the final showdown between the demon Lazarus Twisse and the circle of six friends who have been fighting evil in Hawkins Hollow for years. The last two to enter into a romantic relationship" (Cybil and Gage) are determined to fight their attraction because it seems to be what is expected. Gage is a rebellious card playing gambler, who has been life long friends with Cal and Fox. Having escaped an abusive father, and traveled the world making money from high stakes gambling, he is the last person to believe in destiny or fate. So it is no surprise that he is doing everything that he can to fight the feelings that he has for Cybil, afterall he doesn't want to do what is either expected or easy. And while he claims that he does not believe in destiny or necessarily fate, he does believe in friendship and the power that it has. Every 7 years, during the 7th month for 7 days, the three men meet in their hometown to fight evil. Their friendship began years earlier when the three born on the same day around the same time, held a blood ritual that unleashed a demon that causes havoc on their small town about 15 years ago. Meanwhile, Cybil (a free spirit and tarot card reader) believes that Gage not only shares their precognitive abilities, but her destiny although she isn't willing to put herself out there for fear of being hurt. But when it comes down to protecting their friends and a town that they have grown to love, they both throw caution to the wind and use everything that they know to destroy evil.

To be honest, I will admit that the conclusion to the story was a bit of a let down because there was not really bad showdown, just a self sacrifice that we all knew Gage would make to save his friends. But while I was slightly disappointed, in the scheme of things I was satisfied in that I could envision the various couples futures (and I am not giving away the spoilers just read it), and feel assured that Hawkins Hollow and all of its residents are safe from the little "blood spewing boy" that caused havoc for years.

The Sign of Seven Trilogy
All three books out of this trilogy are great..Thrill, love..fun...this is a definitiv must read...

Under the Spell
Nora Roberts needs no introduction if you have ever picked up a romance novel. Hundreds of novels with almost as many completely different concepts and premises is no small feat but she has managed to accomplish it. This quartet of books is no different... Deep and intriguing characters with a romance developed under twists and turns keep you hooked from the start. A co-worker of mine tried to be witty and say "Oh so its like wal-mart porn with witch craft then?". Negative. Ms. Roberts steps above the average "harlequin" novel and adds depth that can be often ignored by those with such narrow opinions. The Donovans, The MacKades, and the MacGregors... all three families have heartwarming tales that leave you with a little tug in the back of your mind that you came from such a family. Great Nora Roberts Book
This is a great book it is part two of the Donovan Legacy Stories. I have already finished the book. I could not put it down I read the book in around two weeks. (the fasted I have ever read a book)I would tell anyone to read this book.

Hideous Book
Romance genre novels are generally awful, but this one takes the top prize.I attempted to read this on a rainy weekend because there was nothing else to do.My mother-in-law had sent this along with some other books...all of which I had already read.
The first story, Charmed, wasn't so bad if you skipped over the drawn out sex scenes.

The second story, Enchanted, was ridiculous.The brooding 'hero' is angry at the heroine because she gets him all hot and bothered.Instead of staying away from her though he uses his 'powers' to visit her at night and basically rape her.Such lovely and positive actions.

After an idiotic back and forth of getting angry at one another and vowing to back off, the two subjects of the story finally do the deed.Ick.
We then find out that the 'hero' isn't content with just sex, what he really wants is to brutalize the heroine.He does and feels guilty about it.Turns out the heroine is a freak too and enjoys it.

Hero is a witch.He knows the heroine has magic blood as well, but doesn't tell her.He'd rather stomp around acting agonized and angry because he doesn't know if he should take over his father's legacy, tell the heroine about her magic ancestry, fall in love....blah, blah, blah.

Basically, the second story is just about a woman with horribly low self esteem who stumbles across a witch-man with a Narcissistic personality disorder and they make each other miserable, but end up together I'm guessing.I didn't bother to finish it.

At least I know never to read another Nora Roberts book.Are they ALL this horrible?Basically all this book is is elaborate pornography.

Didn't want it to end!!
This trilogy was great.As always, I didn't want it to end.I love Nora Roberts' books, especially the trilogies because they go on and on.I think it would be great to go further, but I guess it might be difficult to come up with more and more of the same people.It's nice to be in their lives and watch their families grow.You really feel like you know the characters.I've read some reviews of other books of hers saying that they are all the same.Well, basically they are, but that's why I love them. They are different enough to keep you reading, but you know everything will end wonderfully.I love how she has witches, ghosts, etc. in them.I think this makes them even more interesting.I am so glad I discovered her books.Can't get enough!!

LOVE THOSE DONOVANS
I was so pleased to finally read the first two books in the Donovan Series.I enjoyed the 3rd and 4th books first - really sad Nora Roberts does not have more on this family -- so believable that I will be looking for the Donovan Castle in Ireland next visit. Some of her other books/characters are not believable enough to hold my interest, but these were excellent.Book arrived in good condition even though the box was torn and crushed - another book in shipment took the brunt of the bruising and was unusable for the gift it was meant to be.Complained to Amazon to no avail.

Nora Roberts Captivated and Entranced
Love Nora Roberts stories..yes they may be predictable but hey I read for the romance and to be taken away from real life.
I fell for the characters in both these stories right away. The "magic" in the stories is written so that it can be believable..I also recommend you read Charmed and Enchanted.
