High Fantasy Adventure at its best!
KS Munnings is a rare voice in fantasy. This book is one of those jewels you stumble across without expecting it, yet it grabs ahold of you and won't let go. The characters in this novel are so believable. The action is fantastic with a gritty realistic feel to the action sequences. I say again, if you lke Robert Jordan, you will love Kevin Scott Munnings. The story is so rich, but not too much of a quagmire to prevent casual enjoyment. It is a great story and an infectious setting that is strangely familiar, like an old dream. I can't say enough good things about it.

Excellent new author!
I received notice of this book from a random e-mail and I'm very glad I ordered the book.The day I recieved it in the mail I sat down to read it and finished that day.It is a very fast, exciting read.Some of the beginning seems to be written in a rather basic fashion; good, but lacking the feel that a work by an experienced author possesses.However, it is, for the most part, an excellent book.I can see Kevin Munning becoming a well know name in the fantasy genre.I am eagerly awaiting his next book, hopefully due out in early 2002....

A great gem to dig
This is one of those great books that no one has ever heard about, but which ends up being one of the best books ever written. Lovers of Fantasy fiction will find Blood of the Ancients such a wonderful read that they'll thank themselves for getting up the nerve to buy it.

I don't want to give away too much of the story, but I will say that the characters are wonderfully written, the pacing is deliciously fast, and it's part one of a nine-book series!

True adventurers won't be disappointed.

Gypsies and Wizards and Nuns, oh my!- An Engaging Fantasy
A delightful and engaging fantasy that I read within a day and a half for I could not put it down.I was immediately drawn into this story with outcasts including gypsies; individuals who can control the elements of earth, air, fire, or water; military; a nomad race; nuns; military soldiers; and wizards.

I do suggest not reading the information provided about the characters, groups of people, and cities at the back of the book.Why?Too much information that clues the reader to where the story leads.

One major disappointment, this tapestry is not complete and is one book of possibly nine!If you do not mind this, step into the Land of the Five Countries. ... Read more
