5-0 out of 5 stars His best nosepicker book!
Based on comments of 10 year old boy.) This book is the third in a series of four so far (NP from Outer Space, Planet of the NPs, Invasion of the NPs, and Your Mummy is a NP). The main gag in the whole series is that the aliens look like they are picking their noses, but they are really operating internal nose computers. Stan (the alien from planet Pan) and Devin (the earth boy) have a class camping trip but Stan uses his nose computer to change the location of the trip to NY city. Soon they are camping in Central Park, but there is a 200-foot green robot on the loose sucking power from the planet Pan's main energy source. Their mission is to stop the giant robot!

4-0 out of 5 stars Gordon Korman's hilarious silly series concludes.
Devin Hunter has no ordinary exchange student -- he has Stan Mlflynx, better known as Stan from Pan. Stan's actually a 147 year old alien from the planet Pan -- but no one except for Devin, the author of his 'Rules Of Coolness' note book, know where he's really from, and of his nasal processing powers. They're just about to go on a class trip when the Grand Pant, the smartest genius in all of Stan's home world, Pan, informs them of the trouble that's lurking on Earth. And Stan's own amazing nasal processing powers are weakenning, which is quite a mystery. They know that an alien called the Humongan is stealing the power of the city for some unknown reason, and it's somehow linked to Stan's disfunctioning.Luckily their class trip is headed right toward New York City itself -- where the Humongan is somewhere hiding. Devin and Stan have to stop the Humongan before Earth is turned literally inside out -- but where can a two hundred foot alien possibly be hiding? It's hilarious laughs and classic funny Gordon Korman in the conclusion of his silly but hysterically enjoyable Nose Pickers From Outer Space series. The story that began with Nose Pickers From Outer Space, Planet Of The Nose Pickers, and Your Mummy Is A Nose Picker concludes with the hilarious fourth adventure of Devin and his unique geek exchange buddy Stan. Gordon Korman has wrote another hilariously charming book, but I recommend it toward younger, fourth-grade audiences. Ultimately, though, this is the silliest book he has ever wrote. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Funny!
(Based on comments of 10 year old boy.) This book is the second in a series of four so far (NP from Outer Space, Planet of the NPs, Invasion of the NPs, and Your Mummy is a NP). The main gag in the whole series is that the aliens look like they are picking their noses, but they are really operating internal nose computers. I think the best of the series is Invasion of the NPs, but they are all good. In this book the boy, Devin, and the alien exchange student, Stan, go to planet Pan and must convince the Grand Pant that Earth is the best tourist spot. If they don't, then earth will be moved past Pluto.

5-0 out of 5 stars Planet of the Nosepickers
I am a nine-year old boy and I love the stories about the nosepickers. This book is the second book by Korman that talks about the nosepickers from space. I liked this book as much as the first and I especially like the character Stan. Product Description
KIDNAPPED, BOOK ONE: THE ABDUCTION: It's every brother's worst fear: As Aiden and his sister, Meg, are walking home from school one day, a van pulls over and Meg is kidnapped. There's no way for Aiden to stop it from happening. He's the only witness to his sister's disappearance. Why has Meg been kidnapped? For ransom? As a vendetta against Meg and Aiden's parents? Or is there an even bigger conspiracy at work? While Meg fends off her kidnappers and plans an escape, Aiden must team up with the FBI to try to find her -- tracking down clues only a brother could recognize. KIDNAPPED, BOOK TWO: THE SEARCH: Where is Meg Falconer? Everybody wants to know. Her brother, Aiden, who saw her kidnapped and is now trying to track her down, wants to know. The FBI, led by the very serious Agent Harris, wants to know. Her parents, who fear their pasts have something to do with why Meg was taken, want to know. Even Meg's kidnappers want to know. Because catching her doesn't always mean keeping her. KIDNAPPED, BOOK THREE: THE RESCUE: Aiden Falconer and FBI Agent Harris are closing in on the people who kidnapped Aiden's sister. Meg. There's just one hitch: Meg is trying to escape from them on her own and is never where she's supposed to be. As tension mounts and the net tightens, only one thing is clear: The kidnappers aren't going down without a fight. Before, it was Meg who was in trouble. Now both Meg and Aiden are in grave danger. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars :)
--Last year, Jeremy Bloom, late for the first day of sixth grade on which the students pick their classes, signed up for Pottery, which was one of the last still having spots open. Unfortunately for him, he only thought it was Pottery: he had signed up for Poetry! After several incidents which may or may not have caused his teacher, Ms. Terranova ("Ms. Pterodactyl") to give him a D- on every poem he wrote, Jeremy decides in this book that writing poetry wasn't so bad (despite the D- marks!) and that he would like to do it again. Ms. Terranova, now married and Mrs. Stegowitz ("Mrs. Stegosaurus") decides to raise last years' marks to A's. --Throughout the second year of Jeremy Bloom's poetry career, Mrs. Stegowitz always shows up for a sports game - and the boys always lose that specific game! Jeremy writes about alternative sports after such events ("Take a walk on Boardwalk/Who owns it? Is it me?/It's mine, with one big red hotel/Two thousand dollars' fee!) with absolutely hilarious results. --Marisa

Everyone will enjoy this collection of Jeremy Bloom's poems, not just sports fanatics, not just boys, not just kids who are a certain age.Jeremy writes poems about football, baseball, soccer, basketball, Monopoly(he claims that Monopoly is just as much a sport as football), and severalother sports. This book is for anyone who enjoys to laugh, even if youcan't tell a goal post from Home plate (I can't). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Loved it as a kid
I read this as a kid (maybe 11 years old or so?) and I have very fond memories of it.I read it several times and think that it is one of GK's best.

5-0 out of 5 stars Should be a movie
Gordon Korman is one of the best kept secrets among the authors of children's books. His books are consistently intelligent, exciting, and interesting.Korman writes with an easy descriptive voice, describing objects and emotions which children find easy to understand.Every time I read one of his books, I find myself wondering, "why, oh, why hasn't this been made in to a movie, when so much other drivel is?"
'NO COINS PLEASE' is my favorite of all of Korman's books, and that's saying a lot.The story is about two teenagers who have taken a summer job as counselors to chaperone a group of boys in a road trip around the United States (which sounds like a great idea, if it existed in real life). One of the boys is Artie, who has a talent for making money at whatever he does.Artie's ideas always seem crazy, if not downright dishonest, at first. But the people who pay him never seem to mind.Whether he is selling boxes of "Attack Jelly" on the streets of New York, or starting a 'no frills' milk store in Nebraska (he supplies the cows, the patrons need to milk them themselves), or turning an old factory into a night club. Before the reader knows it, Artie is taking in money hand over fist, and his bewildered counselors aren't sure whether they should be worried or not.
Buy this book.Share it with your friends and children. And if you are a Hollywood agent, for heaven's sake get it made into a film.It deserves it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hilarious
One of Gordon Korman's best books. This is a standalone novel, not part of a continuing series, which tells the story of Artie Geller and his quest to get rich while on a sightseeing tour of the United States.Cows, model car racing, and thousands of fresh-baked pretzels are all part of the plan as Artie and the rest of the characters make their way toward California.

5-0 out of 5 stars You will laugh your guts out
I love Gordon Korman's books. They are clean, fun and thrillingly funny. This, however is one of my favorites.I especially recommend it for all my neices and nephews who are just getting into reading.I still read it about once every year or so.Trust me and buy the thing, you won't regret it

3-0 out of 5 stars Not one of Korman's best
Gordon Korman has delivered to us an astounding amount of unforgettable books which I will reread forever, I Want to Go Home!, Who is Bugs Potter?, and the Bruno and Boots series really do stick in your mind after you read them, they are classics. However, No Coins, Please, falls of short of the line I've expected him to meet.First of all, the counsellors are unbearable dull.Even though we spend much more time with them than with the counsellors in "I Want to Go Home!" they are much more boring and predictable than even the minor counsellors in "I Want to Go Home!".Similarly, the other children just aren't as interesting or noteworthy. The humour isn't really there, and as for the schemes, well, the extra prank Korman put on his website as a joke is more noteworthy.

So what's my point? If you want to read a great Korman book, get a MacDonald Hall book, I Want to Go Home, or Who is Bugs Potter?, and leave this one until you don't have any left. ... Read more
