Monica Hughes never disappoints me.
This was a really good book of Monica Hughes, though I have to admit, I enjoy her sci-fi ones more. This book will capture your imagination, and have you looking wearily at dollhouses every time you pass one. It has that affect on you. Always make a dollhouse with love. Or pay.

It is an excellent book!
Monica Hughes is a good writer.I thought the book was outstanding.I really enjoyed the parts when the lightning made the dollhouse look like a castle.My favourite character was Marg, and Peggy was very stuck up and snobbish.It was just an enjoyable book. ... Read more

This book was alright...
I thought this book was okay.It deffinitly wasn't the best book I ever read.It got off to a very boring beginning and I had a hard time getting past the first two chapters.Once it gets going though, it becomes much more interesting.

Excellent!
I've read a lot of Monica Hughes, and this one, in my opinion, of her better books, (though they're all good). The characters, and whole idea are so thrilling, I finished it in two days. Who ever doesn't like this book should be ashamed. It's just... the best. Well, no I take that back. But really, really close.It portrays a possible future of a young girl, who really hates the way of life she's forced to live. So in an act to prove herself that backfires, she gets lost, or more like left behind. But then she's found, and things really start to cook up. She has never met the people who found her. They think they know her. She knows better, but soon living with them, and feeling their love seems much more inviting than her past life. I'll never cease to love this book.

I thought this book was really different but interesting.
Lois Prochaska;This book was like none I'd ever read before.I related to the main character in the way that she always wanted to prove people wrong when they said she couldn't do something, but, also like me, it got her in trouble sometimes.However, I have my own idea about how things happened and will happen in the future, and mine didn't quite fit the ideas in this book, but I think it's interesting to learn other peoples' theories and such. ... pretty good for a kid
I read the book awhile ago and found it to be interesting yet peculiar as well. [ It is September 1939, and war has been declared. Maureen is sent to a strange school in Scotland, and finds her new classmates not only unfriendly--they have a secret society from which they exclude her. Left alone, Maureen discovers secrets of her own, about the standing stone and the mysterious stranger in the bracken ] I would recommend it to children
