Product Description
The Everyday Miracle of Healing: A Profile of Mother Maya BY CATHERINE ELLIOTT ESCOBEDO. Sri Swamini Mayatitananda survived cancer (and the fashion industry) to become an expert in Ayurveda. At the heart of her health model is the recognition that "each of us has an immutable spirit that can transcend every challenge." The path to connecting with that spirit lies in cultivating our inner awareness.

Extended Human Capacities: Exploring Consciousness with David HawkinsINTERVIEW BY PAMELA BECKERPsychiatrist David Hawkins, author of Power vs. Force, uses behavioral kinesiology to test the "objective truth" of any statement and ultimately to map human consciousness. He has attracted a large audience of people intrigued by his work while sparking debate among scientists who challenge both the technique and his application of it.

The Enduring Enigma of the UFOBY DEAN RADINDespite significant evidence that something unusual has been going on in the skies above planet Earth, serious investigation remains taboo. The result: far more questions than answers. Like psi phenomena, the topic of UFOs provides a litmus test for what we think we know-or want to.Transformation

A World in TransitionBY EDMUND J. BOURNEWith global civilization in the throes of transition, our guiding values and assumptions about reality are in flux. In this excerpt from Global Shift, the latest title from Noetic Books, Bourne describes both the conceptual and the practical themes that characterize these fundamental changes. Also featured is an excerpt about inclusive politics, "The Noah Principles," from Van Jones's best-selling book, The Green Collar Economy. ... Read more

"

She wouldn't know a NASCAR star if he hit her with his car...and he just did.

Sarah was a kindergarten teacher until a sleazy ex-boyfriend got her fired. Now the only job she can find is driving the motor coach for racing star Lance Cooper. She doesn't know a thing about NASCAR  —and she's off to a rocky start when she doesn't recognize her ultra-famous boss.

Lance can't help but notice Sarah's sweet smile  —and how seriously unimpressed she is with his fame. Her reaction piques his interest  —and he's convinced she's a good-luck charm. But Sarah has no interest in Lance's jet-setting life; she'd rather deal with spitballs than one supersexy race car driver. Too bad whenever he comes near her she turns hot as race fuel.

Soon things begin to heat up on the track, and Sarah begins to wonder if she might be able to teach one famous race car driver a few lessons about love.

2-0 out of 5 stars Reference threw me off the entire book.
Although the book started out with a bit of a Susan Elizabeth Phillips-style action (girl loses job, heads off to new job with lots of troubles, meets-cute (or disturbing, as is the case here) with potential love interest, doesn't realize who the guy is at first, etc.), it quickly deteriorated when I got to page 33. This is where author Pamela Britton includes the following line as Sarah is looking around at this NASCAR driver's kitchen: "You could dance the Coco Cabana in here," she mumbled, her eyes on the island.

The entire book just ground to a halt as I wondered where in the heck the editors were on this one. Do people actually think that "Copa Cabana" (the song by Barry Manilow) is called "Coco Cabana"? Second, I thought what a dated reference to include in a modern-day book. Who even hears that song - no matter what the name - at any club anymore, much less dances to it in a kitchen? I was so curious that I Googled the reference because I thought there would be a dance or something! What I found is that most don't seem to know the actual name of the song referenced above and do indeed spell it incorrectly when referring to the Barry Manilow tune.

Anyway, I really did try to plod on after that hang-up. But I had to quit after about 20 more pages of strange references, non-sequiturs, stilted dialogue that was supposed to be cute and snappy, and the obvious lack of a plotline that would slow this baby down for 300 more pages - she's going to drive his bus but she doesn't want to be involved with him! Okay, where do we go from there? Apart from the neat sports-style references and background, which I do enjoy, I could not force myself to waste more time on this book.

Read Roxanne St. Claire's "Killer Curves" instead - you'll get steamy scenes, sizzling character chemistry, great sports background/research, as well as a relevant and exciting plot to keep you reading. I'm sure Ms. Britton is talented but after this, I am not interested in trying out anything else she's done.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sarah's quirky personality was fun to read!
I loved the book. I love the author, in fact just bought two more of Pamela Britton's novel. I find that I enjoy the NASCAR harlequin series a lot, even though I'm not a NASCAR fan at all!

Sarah is a very naive girl, she lands a job as the coach driver for Lace Cooper, a handsome, funny and extremely sexy race-car driver. She doesn't want to fall for him but she does, and he doesn't want distractions, but Sarah's innocence, and quirky personality gets to him.

It's a fun story, very sweet and light. Loved it!

3-0 out of 5 stars What happened to the sex scenes?
Former kindergarten teacher, who was recently fired from her job b/c her ex-BF falsified some pics of her as porn, got a job driving famous race-car driver's RV. Upon their accidental meeting, she was was misled by good-looking hero that he was just the poolboy b/c he liked that she didn't know about him nor was impressed by his money or status. Attraction was instant but heroine's fear of being hurt again obstructs their promising romance.

The book was funny & romance good.Sexual chemistry was popping. And then the sex scenes...was glossed over!!! It's like being promised some yummy chocolate only to get celery instead. What a disappointment!

Partially recommended for witty dialogue & ok romance without any loves scenes.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loved it from the first page !
I am not a NASCAR fan but I love these books. In this novel Sarah is having a terrible time in her life and her new job is as bus driver for the Lance Cooper NASCAR driver. The first time they meet he runs into her with his car!The book catches you on the first page and I finished it in a evening. Check out all her books Dangerous Curves (NASCAR book I), In The Groove (NASCAR book II), On the Edge (NASCAR book III), TO THE LIMIT - coming out March 2007, (NASCAR Book IV) and TOTAL CONTROL - September 2007, HQN (Nascar Book V.

5-0 out of 5 stars Once a gearhead . . .
. . . always a gearhead! True. Once you get that racing bug, there's no getting rid of it. Oh, it may lay dormant for a while, but the deep-throated sound of a big V-8, a whiff of the special racing oil or tires as they're working, the sight of a checkered anything, will bring it all back again, all too easily.

So it is with the NASCAR tales of Pamela Britton. If you've ever been to Daytona for any race at all, this book will put you right back into the middle of the action. All the sights and sounds of the feverish activity will be in the palm of your hand, and in spite of yourself, you'll be smiling before you've read more than a page or two. And that smile stays right there, through the entire book. I liked the first one DANGEROUS CURVES a lot, but wanted to see if she could maintain that speed for an endurance run, and in my estimation, she's a champ. No question.

Her characters are so into it, whatever they're doing; even the disbelief of Sarah is realistic, as is the `adrenaline' of Lance. (It takes a lot of moxey to drive around a track at two hundred-plus miles per hour, and bring it back all in one piece!) They're witty and genuinely nice people.

As to the plot? Lots of plot, all about love, in its various guises. First, you have to love yourself, because if you don't, who else will? And then there's mother-daughter love and man-woman love, which certainly can be the best kind, although not always. Love can sometimes build confidence in oneself, and in others, which is not at all a bad thing.

As the author has Sarah repeat several times: "The most you can hope for is to get it right some of the time." Right on! This time, for sure, Pamela Britton took the checkered flag! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a book!!!One of my favorites!!!
I love, love, love this book and this author!!!Those words aren't strong enough for how I really feel.I'm an avid historical romance reader, and this book took me away to another place and time.I was there!!!I was crazy about "Surrender" (and still am) but this book was even better!!!Her characters are strong, likeable people.People you would admire in real life.Every page is interesting from the very first one to the very last.I won't go into a summary of the story because it's been done already on this site, but I just had to write with my opinion. These two books have jumped to my top five favorites of all time!!!I can't wait for the books about Conner, Joseph and maybe William Wentworth to come out!!!Oh, and by the way, since the pictures on the covers don't show much of their faces, just go to Pamela Clare's website for pictures of both Iain and Morgan. They will take your breathe away.Where are men like these two today?!!!If you enjoy reading a book that spirits you away, run - don't walk - to the store or the website to buy this one (and "Surrender") because you will never regret it!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Once again- Pamela blows me away! Astounding!
Though "Surrender" still holds first place in my beloved Pamela Clare collection, this worthy sequel deserves a 5 star rating!

The MacKinnon clan are amazing men and everything that would make a woman swoon. Strong, resourceful, clever, witty, funny, sexy, chivalrous...

In this tale we find Morgan, the middle brother, who as we know has been forced to fight for the Brits in the French and Indian Wars in colonial America. All of the MacKinnon brothers carry a price, as they lead the Rangers, the most skilled and deadly fighters on the field. The French make a major score when they capture Morgan- and threaten to learn all of his secrets at penalty of a horrid death at the hands of the violent Abenaki Indian tribe.

He is placed in the hands of Amalie Chauvenet, the young orphaned ward of the French Brigadier. She must heal him and restore him- knowing he will soon face torture in the hands of his enemies, her own people.

Amalie and Morgan begin a tender relationship as they learn one another. She ultimately saves his life when persuading her people to accept him into their own lives, if he will serve them against their enemy. Morgan finds himself in a precarious situation. His loyalty to his brothers and his rangers knows no bounds. However, he is losing his heart to Amalie- a kind, loving, intelligent woman.

Thus begins a beautiful and enchanting tale done OH so well. It's a sensitive line that they all toe- whether or not to betray one or the other. Friendship, integrity, blood ties and love are all tested. I championed the pair!!

Of course, I was very excited to see familiar characters again... Iain, Annie, even Wentworth, Joseph, the rangers... and of course, Connor! I cannot wait for his story! Amazing, flawless and highly recommended!

2-0 out of 5 stars Could be so much better
There is no doubt these books are beyond belief erotic. However, the reviews praising the authenticity are laughable.I was super annoyed with the lame dialogue. Why does she start so many sentences with 'twas?I wanted to throw the book in the trash everytime I heard "MERCY!".But it is good starter porn.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Romance
Looking for heartwarming romance, with wonderful characters, love, page turning.Look no more.....Mrs. Clare is your author.

5-0 out of 5 stars sinfully delicious reading...
OMG!It's been 4 months since I read this book, and I still get hot when I think of it.It's like reading cheesecake -- so deep and decadent! ... Read more

Product Description
Indi's only rule: never date a driver. Todd's new rule: win a date with Indi. Good thing rules were meant to be broken . . .

Indi Wilcox has a bad track record with race-care drivers -- and the skid marks on her heart prove it. So when she's forced to team up with Todd Peters, NASCAR's number one bad boy, to grant the wish of a terminally ill child, she vows to keep things professional.

Todd isn’t sure what he thinks about the new Miracles caseworker. Except that she's gorgeous . . . and steaming mad. Not that he blames her. He accidentally let down one of her kids. Determined to prove to Indi that he's not just another spoiled NASCAR star, Todd sets out to make things right. With every combustible moment they share, deeper feelings take over. Giving up total control might be the scariest -- or the best -- risk they ever take. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable read!
I really liked the beginning of this book. The characters were so great and you could feel the emotions between Indi and Todd, along with the little boy. Some of the scenes were so heartwrenching and touching! That being said, I felt the ending was a bit rushed and didn't show enough between Indi and Todd--their HEA was a bit abrupt to me.However, I would still recommend this book. You'll definitely enjoy it.

5-0 out of 5 stars great bok
If your a sucker for romance books and a fan of Nascar then ya gotta read this book.Pamela Britton is one of the best.

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with this one
I have enjoyed all of Britton's NASCAR books and this one was not bad, but it was no where near as good as her other books. I agree with the previous poster when asking where was the romance? It didn't exist! The majority of the book focused on Benjamin's sickness (which is fine and dandy) and Indi fighting her feelings for Todd.I found myself frustrated throughout the entire book by Indi. When I finally thought they were going to get together, she would muck it up again. And then the end, talk about rushed! How did that happen?Plus, no epilogue - I didn't like that very much (she always has an epilogue). But, I still give the story 3 stars because it was heartwarming reading about Benjamin and his family. But the romance was a big fat ZERO.

3-0 out of 5 stars Where was the romance?
I thought this was a good story about a sick child and a decent story about NASCAR racing. It was however NOT a good romance. There was almost no interaction between romantic couple. The love scenes did not exsist at all. The author should have spent less time describing the childs' illness and including ALL details of the car races and more time focused on the love story. If it had not been labeled a romance at all I might have enjoyed it more as it was well written. The problem was I kept waiting for the relationship to develop in vain. The end seemed so rushed and I left this book thinking it could have been a keeper with just a little more effort by Britton. I gave it 3 stars because you do fall in love with the boy and I did enjoy his story. Based on the love story alone it would have been a 1 star!

4-0 out of 5 stars Tear Jerker
Just a warning, this book is a tear jerker. The romance is there but it's not in full force like the other Nascar romance books in this series. The lead character in this book is a 10 year old little boy with cancer that wants a wish granted with a Nascar driver. It helps if you've read the other books in the series so that you already know who Todd Peters is and the other surrounding characters that are mentioned in the books.Ms. Britton gives some updates on the other couples in the series.I love how she told you about a driver's life off the track and the events they attend. She really got into the driver's head about his off time and how he handles all the functions going on.Ms. Britton really didn't go into the wish foundation charity. Not sure if she didn't know anyone from that area or not.I thought it was interesting how she brought in a fictional Victory Junction camp and then stated that proceeds from buying the book would go there. That would be enough for me to buy this book. It's a quick enjoyable read. ...
