Excerpt: The Choice Music Prize is an annual music prize awarded to the best album from Ireland. It was established by journalist Jim Carroll and manager Dave Reid in 2005, as an alternative to the industry-dominated Meteor Music Awards. The Choice Music Prize is modelled after the Mercury Prize which is awarded each year to the best album from the United Kingdom or Ireland. It is a music award voted for by a panel of twelve judges based on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or record label. The price includes a 10,000 cheque jointly funded by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA). There is no sponsorship. Initially considered by co-founder Carroll as a "titchy little maverick event", the Choice Music Prize has gained a reputation for producing "unpredictable" winners. Winners thus far consist of one solo female performer, three bands and one solo male performer. Julie Feeney won the inaugural prize for Irish Album of the Year 2005. She was followed by The Divine Comedy, Super Extra Bonus Party and Jape, winners of Irish Album of the Year 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively. Adrian Crowley won Irish Album of the Year 2009. The ceremony to announce the winner takes place at Vicar Street, Dublin in February or March each year. Originally presented by Michelle Doherty and Rigsy, it is now presented by Alison Curtis. It has been broadcast live since its inception on national radio station Today FM. The nominated acts are invited to perform in front of a live audience at the ceremony. Family Problems
Ben's early life was very unstable.His mother would get restless after a little time in one location, and before he knew it she would be off and running, leaving Ben's father to chase after them.When Ben is seven, his parents finally divorce.Ben and his mother move in with her new love interest, Lyle, and his thirteen-year-old son Dustin, who is still mourning the death of his mother and is resentful of the presence of Ben and his mother in their house.

Lyle is the perfect force of stability in Ben's life.Their household operates with rules and life is predictable.In three years when Ben's mother chooses to wander again, Ben refuses to join her.He has decided to stay with Lyle.Dustin is feeling suffocated by his closely regulated life, though, and as soon as he gets his licence he takes off to live with Ben's mother, where there are few rules.

Now Dustin has been in a diving accident and is in the hospital.Ben and Lyle fly out to see him.It will be the first time in a long time that Ben sees his mother, and Lyle is still hoping to reclaim his wayward son.But family reunions are rarely that simple.

I liked the underlying story of this book, and the complex relationships that develop when families start breaking up and recombining in new ways.I found myself a bit confused at the beginning, as this story is formulated as a narrative from Ben to Dustin.Therefore, there is no real introduction of characters and you have to figure out what is going on as the story develops.This writing style also means that the reader never gets any insight into what Dustin is actually thinking or feeling throughout these traumatic life events.

Hard to understand
I just couldn't get this book. I was at the library, looking for a good book. "Dive" just seemed interesting on the back cover, so, I checked it out. The moment I read the first paragraph, I knew it was trouble. They had not explained the characters yet, they haven't even started with a person's name. Just "I" "you" "they" "the". Those are word that are really hard to understand when reading the first few chapters of a book. I checked it in, and got another book. Really hard to understand. Is it a sequal? The book didn't say. Then yet, even other sequal books I've read were easier to read. I do not recommend this book.

A book you wont put down
Ok this book is well writen and is intresting i read it in one morning but it could have ended better. I would not recomend this for smallerchildren.But I as a 14 yearold thought it was intresting. ... Read more

No technical details, bias suggestions, too much text
I am disappointed about this book mainly because (1) there is no technical discussion about the setup of storefront and payment gateway (2) the authors recommend advertiser's services...kind of bias (3) it does notcover all the latest technologies, despite the fact that it's published inSep 1999! (4) there is too much unnecessary text with repetitive info andmost importantly (5) I still don't know how to set up an e-commercesolution on a dedicated hosting platform, after reading this 394 pages bookin a week. If you are reading Business 2.0 or Inter@active week already,don't buy this book. However, if you are new to e-com and want to get aquick grasp of the major components, this book may help you. ...
