Actually Amazing
It's too bad this book is out of print; it's marvelous!It's filled with facts about dirt that I, an adult, had no knowledge of.For example, do you know what "terrane" is? (it's a block of the earth's crust) I found out how straight furrows in dirt promote erosion. I never heard of the Money Pit on Oak Island, Nova Scotia a booby-trapped pit probably made by pirates. There are even a few pages on burial practices (never knew about the serpent mound in Ohio 1300 ft. long). There are also all sorts of really good crafts and activities. I like the Franklin Books/Me gustan los libros de Franklin
Me gustan los libros de Franklin porque utilizan mucho vocabulario cotidiano/diario y tienen personajes interesantes y originales con los cuales mis hijos se identifican. Son libros que puedo leerle a ninas o ninos por igual, con un mensaje positivo (que introducen buenos valores sin prediga). Los pedi en espanol, frances e ingles y con estos libros, mis hijos han aprendido mucho vocabulario en los tres idiomas.Hasta yo resfresque mi memoria y volvi a 'aprender' algunas palabras que se me habian olvidado.Este libro, por ejemplo, sirvio para que volviera a acordarme que un 'racoon' en espanol se llama mapache.Y en frances, el idioma que menos dominamos, hemos aprendido cantidades de nuevas palabras.ie. ourson: baby bear, etc.
Mis hijos adoran estos libros en cualquiera de los idiomas en que los lea.Son una maravilla.

Great Little Book For Franklin Fans
Any board book with lift flaps is a hit with my daughter, but this book is truly adorable.It is written in the way Franklin, his friends and family actually talk on the cartoon.And the story is sweet.This is a little book, great for little hands, and it is fun for little ones to lift the flaps to see how the story progresses.This story teaches about different animals also.

I was excited to find a Franklin book in a board book.My nephew is a big fan, but only one, so it's great to have found a board book. The story is really cute.Franklin wants a pet because he only has a fake one.Hetakes suggestions from friends and family, but finally makes the decisionhimself. The book included most of Franklin's closest buddies, which thelittle fans will love.Each flap added to the suspense of which friendhe's going to ask, and what pet they would suggest.It was fun making allof the animal noises as we read each new suggestion.I'm glad Franklinmade his own mind up in the end!Very cute! ... Wonderful Book!
This workbook-type book was wonderful! I used it a few years ago with my son who is now 10 years old, and am ordering 2 more for my foster toddlers who will soon be leaving us. "Frankin and Me" is fantastic forreflecting on a child's self and events that occured in their lives. Notonly I, but my son as well, have enjoyed looking back each time we get thisbook out. I hope that someday when my foster children are long gone andlook back in this book that they are able to remember more about themselvesand where they were. Very nice to complete and pack away for future smiles!:-)

different type of book
This book is more of a workbook not a story book. A chance for your child to discover themselves. Re: the other review All the franklin books are like that. The other characters look diff than franklin,and the story is a little different also.But they are still enjoyable and teach good lessons.

This book was terrible.
I was so disappointed in this book.My two year old son loves Franklin and his friends, but this was a complete waste.It really isn't a book to read, but a "memory" book instead, where you are to put in photosand other information about your child.The worst part was that althoughFranklin looked something like his character in the show, the"friends" looked NOTHING like themselves-they were just picturesof animals of the same breed.I'm not sure what the other Franklin booksare like, but I would not recommend this one. ...
